The purpose of our study is to describe and understand whether, and if so, how social workers in school and in social services construct computer gaming adolescents as a social problem. We chose social workers who encounter adolescents with different problems. We have conducted qualitative interviews with vignettes to capture the social workers' reasoning about computer gaming adolescents and how they handle this in their work. The study shows that all social workers we interviewed had encountered adolescents with troubling computer gaming habits. In the study, all agree that computer gaming becomes a problem when it leads to deviant behaviour such as not going to school, staying up all night and so on.

The aim of this study is to examine social workers' and social work students' attitudes towards people living with hiv in Sweden. I will also examine if there is a connection between knowledge and attitudes. The questions at issue are how social workers' and social work students' attitudes can assume to influence on their professional practice and what causes can affect their attitudes towards people living with hiv. The study is based on a qualitative method. The methods have been: conversational interviews with five social workers, who work with family issues and integration, and a focused group interview with four social work students.

The aim of this study was to understand the contact between foster homes and social workers, by doing a comparison of the social workers and the foster homes experiences of the cooperation that is between them. We started from three main questions to get an answer to our aim, how the foster homes and the social workers experience the organization of the foster care in the Social Service as an impact of the cooperation, what does the foster homes and the social workers experience as a important fact of a successful placement and finally, how does the foster homes and the social workers experience the supporting and controlling contact that is between them. To get our results we based our study on interviews whit four foster homes and whit four social workers. The analysis was based on one theoretical perspective, Skaus (2007) analytical approach for power and help. As a conclusion we have found out, that the organization of the Social Service has significance for the contact between social workers and foster homes.

The study aims to gain insight into how social workers perceive their psychosocial work environment and examine whether this effects the performance of their duties. The study mainly addresses the shortcomings of the psychosocial work environment of Social Services and the implications it entails for social workers health and wellbeing. The psychosocial work environment includes physical and psychological factors therefore the study's interpretive framework consists of organizational theoretical and social psychological concepts and previous research on the subject. We examined the organizational and social psychological connections to social workers perception of their work environment with a qualitative approach. The empirical data was collected through interviews with four social workers in a municipality in central Sweden using a semi-structured interview guide.

The purpose of doing this research except for educational reasons is to show significant effects that make motivational work successful. The choice of subject we decided out of experience from the term of practise. The description of the subject is from the social workers angle of approach. The method we used is a qualitative study with semi structured interviews. We have looked at three different fields of social work from the view of six social workers, two from each field.

Research about social support and social networks has mostly concerned the impact on a person?s wellbeing and health. However an aspect largely neglected is how social support within the social networks can affect the process of giving up a drug abuse. The purpose of this paper is to contribute to a better understanding of what role the social support within different relationships can have on the process of giving up drug abuse. Furthermore the aim is to examine how a self-help group can provide social support in the transitional period after leaving a drug abuse.

Bakgrund: I dag examineras ca 6000 nya ekonomer i Sverige varje år. Det finns närmare 26 skolor i Sverige idag som ger ekonomiutbildningar. Även om personen är nyexaminerad ekonom, arbetslös eller söker en ny tjänst, så är personen arbetssökande och försöker finna ett arbete. Det kan finnas många faktorer som arbetsgivaren tittar på under ansökningsprocessen innan de gör sitt urval av vilka det är som går vidare till en anställningsintervju. Hur görs urvalet vad är det som gör att han/hon väljs ut till en intervju? En av faktorerna kan vara skolbetygen.Syfte: Syftet är att undersöka rekryteringsprocessen med fokus på högskole-/universitetsbetygens betydelse vid rekrytering av ekonomiassistenter.Metod: Uppsatsen är baserad på kvalitativ data i form av djupintervjuer med nio rekryterare på fyra olika bemannings- och rekryteringsföretag i Stockholm.Teori: Uppsatsen kommer att luta sig mot beslutsteori och Human Reseurs Management med en mindre jämförelse av tidigare studier inom ämnet.Resultat: Genom min undersökning har jag kommit fram till att bemanningsföretagens rekryteringsprocess inte skiljer sig så mycket åt, de arbetar efter likande grunder och gör sina kandidaturval på likande premisser.

This is a qualitative study of how some journalists on the Swedish national media are using social media in news work. The study, carried out by using interviews, also covers how these journalists' work is influenced by social media. For the journalists in the study social media has become a tool to do research, get news ideas and find interviewees. At the same time social media affects the work of the journalists, as the social media increases the speed of news and flow of information. Even though they involve some challenges, social media facilitates news work and the journalists in this study have a positive attitude towards the phenomenon.Keywords: Social media, news journalism, the national media..

Inledning: Det har alltid funnits problem i hotellbranschen vid rekrytering. Branschenkarakteriseras av hög personalomsättning, låg utbildningsnivå och relativt låga löner.Efterfrågan på kompetent personal är hög medan utbudet av personal är lågt. Samtidigt ökarhotellbranschen i antal hotell och antal sängar liksom efterfrågan.Syfte: Syftet med studien är att kartlägga hotellchefers syn på en akademisk examen vidrekrytering av hotellpersonal.Metod och material: Semi-strukturerade intervjuer utfördes med sju hotellchefer ochverkställande direktörer i Stockholm och London. De fick svara på semi-struktureradeintervjufrågor med följdfrågor. Materialet hämtades från intervjuer, tidskrifter, böcker ochhemsidor som varit relevanta för uppsatsen.Resultat: Resultatet visar att både de svenska och brittiska cheferna anser att erfarenhet vägertyngre än en akademisk examen.

Denna uppsats behandlar ämnet estetisk kompetens och dess roll inom den svenska servicesektorn. Tidigare forskning har bland annat visat att arbetsgivare alltmer fokuserar på hur de anställda ser ut, för sig och talar ? ?looking good, sounding right?. Dagens arbetsmarknad tillhör arbetsgivarna då det finns ett kraftigt överskott av sökande att välja mellan. Långtgående krav kan alltså ställas utan att någon protesterar och kraven på de arbetssökande kan ibland sträcka sig ända till den fysiska kroppen.Begreppet estetisk kompetens innebär att de anställda ser bra ut och att de låter rätt.

The purpose of this study was to examine social workers apprehensions about institutional placement of youths and what determines when these proceedings are used. When research not always shows that institutional placements lead to positive changes for youngsters, we wondered how social workers act on their assessment to institutional placement. We wanted to find out if the social workers meet any dilemmas along the way. To find out about that we used qualitative interviews with ten social workers, who worked in social service and came from different places in the southern parts of Sweden. To analyze our material we used the theory of human service organization and street-level bureaucrats work situation.

This study focuses on the use of animals in social work from the perspective of social workers. The purpose of this study is to examine social workers? experiences of animal assisted social work and how social workers view the integration of animals in various fields of social work. The research is based on a qualitative method and four semi-structured interviews were conducted with social workers. The theories incorporated in the study are Attachment Theory and Sense of Coherence (SOC).The following results are presented: Social workers are considered to have a more comprehensive understanding of clients compared to their associates who do not hold a degree in Social Work.

En rekrytering kan handla om allt ifrån att anställa en sommarvikarie till att hitta en ny chef för ett stort företag. Att anställa en ny chef är en omfattande process då det gäller för företaget att hitta rätt person för tjänsten. I litteraturen finns mycket beskrivet om hur en rekryteringsprocess går till och denna studie handlar om att undersöka huruvida rekrytering av chefer skiljer sig från rekrytering av övriga medarbetare eller inte samt om det finns några skillnader mellan intern och extern chefsrekrytering.När en rekryteringsprocess påbörjas är det viktigt att göra ett grundligt förarbete. Detta kan ske i form av en arbetsanalys, eller en revidering av en befattningsbeskrivning, vilket är vanligast vid rekrytering av chefer. Därefter utarbetas en kravspecifikation som ligger till grund för den fortsatta processen, det är den som specificerar vad det är företaget är ute efter.Att söka efter kandidater till en tjänst kan ske på flera olika sätt.

The aim of this study is to understand the collaboration at a child investigation and the actions that may be encountered as a result of the investigation, based on the Social Secretaries experiences of collaboration with other agencies such as schools, police, health visitor and child psychiatry. In the study, eight social workers from different municipalities was interviewed at a total of six occasions. One of the occasions was a group interview with three social workers at the same time. Through the interviews, it appears that the collaboration has an important role in social work and the necessity is something that manifests itself in the social secretaries stories but also in the earlier research done in this area. The results show that social workers extensively want to interact but that the purpose of interaction varies depending on the nature of the matter.
