The purpose of this study was to understand how social workers experienced working with Addiction Severity Index (ASI) in relation to the goal set by the National Board of Health and Welfare. The method is spread nationwide and therefore it is of great importance to examine how the social workers themselves experience the demands and the resources surrounding ASI. We choose to do a qualitative study interviewing eight social workers at six different occasions. The result was analyzed using Max Weber?s ideal type bureaucracy and Michael Lipsky?s thesis on street-level bureaucrats.

Vad innebär dagens sociala kompetens, vilken uppfattning har studenter om sin egen sociala kompetens och anser de att den motsvarar arbetslivets krav? Undersökningen lyfter upp begreppen genus, arbetsliv och uppväxt kopplat till social kompetens för att se skillnader, samband och innebörd utifrån studenters syn på dessa fenomen. Skiljer sig uppfattningen åt om social kompetens mellan könen? Underlaget för studien är 200 enkäter, fyra intervjuer och en omfattande litteraturundersökning, vilka visar att upplevelsen av social kompetens är beroende av genusperspektivet. Dessutom har uppväxten visat sig vara av betydelse för kvarliggande könskategoriseringar och sociala konstruktioner, vilka fortfarande är väl förankrade i arbets- och familjeliv.

 Forskning från England, Wales och USA visar att antalet äldre intagna inom kriminalvården i de aktuella länderna har ökat under det senaste decenniet. I forskningen visas att det kan uppstå problem när äldre personer med speciella behov placeras i ett fängelse. Kriminalvårdens statistik 2007 påvisar att det även skett en ökning av äldre intagna i de svenska fängelserna. Dock finns det ingen forskning om hur det påverkar anstalterna. Syftet med denna studie är att belysa hur personal på några utav Sveriges anstalter uppfattar och ser på situationen med äldre intagna med specifika behov som placeras i anstalt.

The aim of this qualitative study was to explore which inner conceptions about the abused older women the professional social workers had and how they experienced the enconter of an abused old woman in an intimate partner relation. The theoretical background is social construction by Berger and Luckmann. This theory was uset to analyze the transcribed interviews. This study is based on nine interviews with five professionals in social services, three volunteers from the voluntary sector and one social worker who worked in a community based support group for abused older women. The result of this study shows that older women were often abused, by a relative they were dependent on, in their home.

Missbruk är en problematik vars negativa effekter framför allt påverkar det sociala livet, arbete, intressen, aktiviteter och relationer, detta då all tid och fokus läggs på själva missbrukandet. Att inte kunna vara aktiv på det sätt som önskas skapar både ett fysiskt och psykiskt lidande. Människor som mår dåligt på grund av sjukdom eller funktionsnedsättning kan använda sin kreativitet för att komma i kontakt med sina problem. Studien fokuserar på att undersöka blandmissbrukares upplevelse av skapande aktivitet i sin behandling. Studien har genomförts via kvalitativ metod och datainsamlingen har skett med hjälp av en egenkonstruerad intervjuguide.

The purpose of this essay has been to study the different discourses that are expressed in social welfare secretaries? assertions when they assess cases with elements of honour-related violence, intimidation and oppression. To do so I have used a discourse analysis theory and technique, based on three qualitative interviews with social welfare secretaries. The interviews were focused on vignettes, which were all fictitious cases with various elements of honour-related violence. One of the interviews was a focus groupinterview with four participants, while the other two interviews were individual.

I denna uppsats undersöks den kritiska realismen som vetenskapsteori för samhällsvetenskaperna. Tillvägagångssättet är en immanent kritik, där den kritiska realismen följs genom dess grundläggande argument, för att sedan vända dess egen begreppsapparat mot sig själv för att visa på spänningar och motsägelser i teorin. Särskild uppmärksamhet kommer genomgående att riktas mot den nära relationen till marxismen, samt synen på abstraktioner som ett centralt samhällsvetenskapligt verktyg. Undersökningen tar sin utgångspunkt i argumenten för en realistisk vetenskapsteori utifrån det naturvetenskapliga experimentet som oomstritt faktum, och upplyftandet av ontologin framför epistemologin. Den kritiska realismens ontologiska modell presenteras, liksom dess kritik av empirismen och idealismen.

The evolution of the media landscape and the introduction of social media have increased thenumber of communication channels tremendously during the last decade. These new channels have also made an impact on the information control, which has shifted focus from organisations to consumers. In order to communicate one coherent image in the numerous existing channels, organisations need to create strategies that take this into account and makes sure the same messages are communicated through all channels. One way to do this is to use integrated marketing communication (IMC). Since the social media is a relatively new phenomenon, there is no clear way of how to include social media into an IMC strategy.

This study examines the connection between social capital and urban and rural areas. The study divides the environments into two categories; metropolises and rural areas. Metropolises are defined as any of Swedens largest cities Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö. The study also examines if there is a difference between these groups in how high social trust they have to people living in the same areas as themselves versus people who live in other areas. The studie also focuses on the urbanization that the world is going through, where people move from rural areas into the cities for work and education.

The aim of this study is to investigate how the female author, Charlotte Brontë, describes the development of her female protagonist in Jane Eyre and to compare this to how the male author, Fyodor Dostoevsky, describes the development of his male protagonist in Crime and Punishment, inside the patriarchal 19th century.My basic idea is that both characters in these two books have to reach their own unknown to find satisfaction and a new existence, and I want to investigate what the characters have to go through to find that existence. To help me in my exploration of Jane Eyre I make use of Gilbert and Gubars? book The Madwoman in the Attic and in the case of Crime and Punishment, I make use of Pelikan Straus? article ??Why did I say ?Women!??? Raskolnikov Reimagined?. Both authors discuss literature from a gender perspective, but without comparing female and male characters or authors with each other, which I believe is important for a more holistic understanding of gender issue.The conclusion of this essay is that these books are describing the main characters? evolution towards their personal unknown with the same tools, a double self, an important symbol, and in the end a love partner that embodies that unknown.

Vi valde att belysa hur förmedlingen av specialpedagogisk kunskap fungerar praktiskt vid Malmö högskola (MAH) utifrån lärarutbildningens ideologiska samt teoretiska perspektiv. För att kunna genomföra detta valde vi att arbeta utifrån skollag samt styrdokument. Studiens syfte var att genom en enkätundersökning samt intervjuer få en överblick av kunskapsfältet allmänpedagogik och specialpedagogik vid Malmö Högskola. Studiens första datainsamling bestod av en enkätundersökning med sammanlagt 152 stycken lärarstudenter vid MAH. Utifrån svaren från enkätundersökningen valde vi att utföra fyra stycken intervjuer med utbildningschef, ställföreträdande områdeschef, enhetschef samt huvudämnesansvarig vid MAH.

In Sweden between 800.000 and 900.000 people have some kind of alcohol related addiction. Each and everyone are expected to have three relatives who in some way are involved in the abuser´s way of life. The consequences of living close to someone with an abuse of alcohol is described as a chaotic life with extreme emotional stress, fear and anger.The aim with our essay has been to look into how social workers are describing their work, from the relatives´ point of view. We also wanted to understand how the relatives´ situation can be. We reached our aim through interviews with social workers and by literature studies.The primary conclusion of the essay is that the dominating theory is that addiction is an illness.

The main purpose of this study is to find out what kind of help social service in one selected municipality in Sweden can provide for children who have witnessed or been victims of domestic violence. Using focus group interview this study investigate how the social workers meet the needs of these children. The bases for our analysis are the Organization Theory and the Attachment Theory, as well as previous research. Important results are that the social services are dependent on notifications in order to do their work and that the most common interventions are foster care, emergency foster care and/or family therapy. The difficulties that social workers perceive their work are unjustified families and heavy workloads.

Introduction: The health for individuals with intellectual disabilities is asubject that is prioritized by the Swedish Institute for Public Health. Socialsupport has been proven to be important for health and quality of life. Despitethis fact there is no research available regarding the influence social support hason health and quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities in Sweden.Aim: To describe social support and the consequence of social support forhealth and quality of life for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Method:A litterature review of research in a defined area with a descriptive design.Systematic searches for articles were done in several databases and ultimately16 articles were chosen. Themes and categories were created with respect to theaim of this study during the analysis of the articles.
