The purpose of this study was to examine how social work professionals view their professional role and how they think about the concept of social work. I also wanted to investigate what they believe characterize a professional social work. For the purposes of this study, I chose a qualitative approach in which I interviewed five people linked to the social work. The theories which I have assumed in the analysis of the results are power theory, organization theory and professional theory. The results of this study show that the respondents believe that a professional social work is performed by someone who has training and experience in the field.

Social sustainability is often regarded as a solution to social problems in general. In this study, on the contrary, social sustainability is conceived as a socially constructed concept and the result of a certain way of looking at the world, the human being and the ideal society. Syftet med vårt arbete är att undersöka föräldrars erfarenheter kring sin egen påverkan vid sina ungdomars gymnasieval och om det finns skillnader mellan olika kulturella bakgrunder gällande föräldrapåverkan. Vi vill även undersöka om det finns andra bakomliggande påverkansfaktorer vid gymnasievalet. I vår undersökning har vi använt oss av den kvalitativa metoden bestående av semistrukturerad intervjuguide. Vi ansåg att denna metod var mest lämplig för vår undersökning då vi var intresserade av informanternas egna erfarenheter och vi ville få en djupare förståelse och kunskap inom det valda området. Urvalet bestod av sju föräldrar, tre med svensk bakgrund och fyra med annan kulturell bakgrund.

The purpose of this thesis in Library and Information Science (LIS) is to examine concepts related to multiculturalism in Sweden. It aims to look beyond the rhetorical construction of these concepts, in an attempt to clarify the actual purpose of commonly emphasizing the importance of mulicultural library services. Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis (CDA) as well as theories on ethnicity and intersectionality constitute the theoretical frame. The material consists of selected anthologies, handbooks and articles in Biblioteksbladet from 1974?2014, as well as a small case study.

Kvinnor har sedan länge tillbaka presterat bättre än män genom hela deras skolgång. Fler kvinnor än män börjar läsa på högskola/universitet och fler kvinnor avlägger examen. Denna studie är ett bidrag till tidigare forskning inom området genom att enbart studera Norrbottens län, som delvis har en annan struktur än andra län, samt studiet av relationen mellan social klass, genus, geografiskt område och attityder till högre utbildning. Syftet med studien är att undersöka vilken inställning ungdomar (15-19 år) i Norrbottens län har till högre studier och deras planer för att fortsätta studera efter gymnasiet. Studien avser att undersöka, ur ett genusperspektiv, om ungdomar i Norrbotten påverkas av deras sociala bakgrund och geografiska område, i deras val av högre utbildning efter avslutade gymnasiestudier.

Bakgrund: Enligt sjuksköterskans kompetensbeskrivning är det viktigt attuppmärksamma och möta patienten med hänsyn till olika aspekter, däribland kulturen. Detta innebär att höga krav ställs på sjuksköterskans förmåga att utöva transkulturell omvårdnad. En viktig aspekt för att uppnå god omvårdnad är en fungerande kommunikation mellan sjuksköterska och patient. Om hänsyn inte tas till patientens kulturella behov och önskningar kan detta resultera i ett vårdlidande för patienten. Syfte: Att beskriva sjuksköterskors och sjuksköterskestudenters upplevelser av att vårda patienter med annan kulturell bakgrund än den egna.

The purpose of this study was to enlighten the views of male social work students on; the social work profession, social work status and their career options. Also, the study aimed at getting these students angles of approach on the fact that they, being men, are a minority group within the profession of social work. Some of the main questions were: Why does not social work as a profession seem to attract men? What about the status of the profession of social work? What were the thoughts of male social work students about this? What advantages or disadvantages did they recognise, being a minority in the profession? The method used in this study was doing separate interviews. All of the interviewed students were convinced that they had a better chance of getting a job.

In Sweden the social assistance from a historical perspective, has been a part of the social legislation, since the 18th century. In that time called poor relief. Through the centuries this has established the social assistance we have today. With focus on the child, we have attempted to illustrate how the social workers consider the child perspective when they are dealing with the social assistance. We wanted to get a view of how the social worker reasons about needs the children have and how they can see that the benefit has been provided for.

The aim of this study was to enlighten social workers experiences of social networks direct influence in Swedish social services, and in which ways those influences are manifested. Some of the issues that are being explored in this study are: The separation of the private sphere and professional duties; boundaries and dual relationships that occurs inside social networks; the use of social networks as a control-instrument in authority exercise towards clients; and social networks arising impact on social work. The empirical material was collected with nine qualitative interviews with social workers stationed at different social service departments in a Swedish municipality. Also one qualitative e-survey was sent out to, and answered by four social workers with a managerial position in the same municipality.The results reveal that several informants have experienced different problematic situations involving clients within the social networks. This study shows that the informants are very restrictive with what information (text and pictures) they publish on their facebook-profiles, because of their position of authority and the awareness of the possibility of always being watched.

Today, social media is used mostly by people in their private life. However, companies are more and more tapping into the area of social media. To this date, mostly B2C companies have been successful in their social media strategies. This qualitative thesis aims to investigate how B2B companies can benefit from using social media as a means to communicate and build relations with their customers. The medtech industry has been chosen as the object of study.Through depth interviews with people in the medtech industry and social media experts, data has been collected in order to answer the questions of (1) how ready customers in the medtech industry are to receive information through social media and (2) how companies can build the best possible social media strategy.

SammanfattningI dagens mångkulturella samhälle blir det väsentligt att förstå människors olika bakgrund. Skolan är en plats som präglas av kulturell mångfald och därmed är behovet av förståelse för människors olikheter särskilt betydelsefull där. När en individ utvecklar och formar sin identitet i skolan sker det i samspel med andra. Det sociala samspelet är en viktig del i det som sker när en individ formar en social identitet i olika sociala sammanhang. Syftet med det här arbetet är tudelat och fokuserar dels på att undersöka hur elever med utländsk bakgrund resonerar kring formandet av sin sociala identitet i skolan, dels hur lärare resonerar angående dessa elevers formande av sin sociala identitet i relation till sitt dagliga arbete.Syftet besvaras med hjälp av en intervjuundersökning som har genomförts med fyra elever och två lärare.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka huruvida social konflikt kan verka främjande för samhället, samt att titta på de orsaker som gör att konflikten på Nordirland vidmakthålls. This study examines the opinions of social workers regarding the social networks of people with a substance addiction. The intention was to get a more nuanced understanding of what characterizes a positive or negative social network, as well as which functions different types of social networks serve. Data were collected through qualitative interviews with seven social workers. More specifically the social workers were oriented towards working for social services with clients that struggle with substance abuse. The empirical material has been analyzed with a thematic analysis.
