Toleransens betydelse i socialt stödutbyte En kvalitativ studie bland sju Tamangfamiljer i Kathmandudalen, Nepal

Society is characterized by patterns of behavior and interaction that is created and recreated inthe interplay between individuality/collectivity and freedom/constraint, thus represents avariety of social issues and social phenomena. One of these phenomena is social supportexchanges and social capital. In order to obtain views on how this might appear in a specificsociety and contribute to the knowledge about social support exchanges and social capital, thisstudy was done with seven families in a village in Nepal. The village and the families gave aview and an example of how it might look in a place where social support exchanges plays acrucial role in this way of living. Through observations and interviews I have tried to make thesocial support exchange areas and meanings visibile.

Hur revisionsbyrÄer anvÀnder sig av sociala medier vid rekrytering - Fallstudier av Grant Thornton och Ernst & Young

Accounting firms operate in environments with high competition for graduates and students today expect employers to be present on Facebook and the like. We aim to describe whether two major accounting firms use social media in their graduate recruitment. We chose to do case studies of Grant Thornton and Ernst & Young and how they use social media channels aimed towards graduates. Through a through study of how the two companies communicated through various social media, we concluded that Grant Thornton was significantly better than their larger competitor at social media use. Both companies use Facebook as their main communication channel.

Social movements have long been valuable components of the struggle for a world with true justice. Along with the changing and modernization of society these movements also change, both in their actions as well as in the goals they want to accomplish. Technology is taking a greater part in many aspects of social life, creating new dimensions but also new social divides. This thesis examines how new social movements make themselves visible and affect the world around them through different kinds of networks. For the purpose of this study, we have chosen to study two social movements; the Zapatistas in Mexico, who have become known worldwide for carrying out the first informational revolution, and MoveOn.org, an American grassroots organization that struggles for increased democracy in the US.

Solokvist eller ensamvarg : Socialt samspel hos personer med psykosproblematik

Background: People diagnosed with psychosis are often described as introvert, isolated and with little or no ability to create and maintain social relationships. While every angle of a phenomena is valid and important, we believe that the first-person perspective provides the only direct access to the diagnosed persons? feelings and experiences.Aims: The aim of this study is to explore how a few people diagnosed with psychosis describe their experiences of social interaction.Method: This study is conducted in a Grounded Theory manner. An analysis has been performed on interviews made with five individuals, all diagnosed with a psychosis diagnosis.Results: The main result of this study is that the self-image is a core factor in the individuals experiences of, and initiative to, social interaction. The social interactions are linked to the individuals own relation to their diagnosis in a dynamic process where all components affect each other in the creating of the self-image.Conclusion: This study concludes that people diagnosed with psychosis is no different than other people when it comes to dreaming and longing for functional social relationships, but that they have some difficulties in actually finding them due to both social stigma and a poor self-image..

Barn med ADHD-diagnos : En studie om den sociala miljöns inverkan pÄ beteenden som föranleder ADHD-diagnos

The purpose of this study was to illustrate how professionals, who work with psychosocialproblems among children, look at the impact of social factors on behavior that causes ADHDdiagnosis and at the relationship between social factors and the increased diagnosis that hasoccurred in recent years. To answer our purpose, we chose a qualitative approach byinterviewing six professionals who had different professional affiliations. We analyzed theresults using systems theory and attachment theory. The results showed that the professionalssaw various social factors that influenced the behaviors that cause ADHD diagnosis, particularlytroublesome growing environment and the school environment that requires greater cognitiveability and social skills of children today. They also saw that social factors could have an impacton the increase of diagnoses, particularly that the diagnosis can result in that the understandingchanges and that it is considered easier to get extra support at school with a diagnosis..

En kvalitativ studie om det sociala nÀtverkets betydelse för ensamkommande barnKeywords: unaccompanied refugee children, social network, risk and resilience, social work.Authors: Karin BodÄ och Leila Silva The main purpose of this study is to illuminate and describe the importance of having a social network for unaccompanied refugee children in Sweden. Using qualitative interviews this study looks at their possibilities to create a social network in Sweden and how their network helps them to solve problems. Knowledge of this subject is important for social workers, in order to be able to encourage and help unaccompanied refugee children to build a social network. The base for our analysis is attachment theory, coping theory, social network theory, KASAM theory, risk and resilience theory, system theory are used to give deeper insight into experiences of four unaccompanied refugee boys.

Near Field Communication : En studie om NFC-teknikens möjliga anvÀndningsomrÄden och utveckling inom sociala medier

In this report we examine the NFC (Near Field Communication) technology as far as the development has come until today. We adress different use areas and explain the technical funcionality. By using data collection methods as a specialist interview and also a survery we want to detect potential risks and safety-issues in implementation of the new technology. Our main-focus in this report is to examine how NFC can play an important role in the developement of social interaction and social media. By compiling our data and research materials we will analyze and present a report conslusion.

Studenters medvetenhet om- och instÀllning till social rekrytering.

 Idag har nÀstan varje student en Facebook-profil och majoriteten av studenterna anvÀnder sig av Facebook dagligen. DÄ studenter lÀgger upp allt mer och mer privat innehÄll pÄ sociala medier har det blivit en kÀlla med information för företag att anvÀnda sig av i rekryteringssammanhang.Det uppsatsen menar att besvara Àr hur studenter pÄ KTH stÀller sig till social rekrytering via Facebook och hur de anpassar sig. Vi genomförde en kvantitativ studie för att undersöka hur  studenters medvetenhet kring- samt instÀllning till social rekrytering ser ut, och sedan genomförde en kvalitativ studie för att undersöka varför instÀllningen ser ut som den gör. Vi ville Àven undersöka om social rekrytering anses vara ett accepterat rekryteringsverktyg.Resultaten visar att majoriteten av vÄr mÄlgrupp Àr medvetna om att social rekrytering anvÀnds samt att de tycker det Àr ett acceptabelt rekryteringsverktyg. Vi har funnit att majoriteten av studenterna vÀljer att ha stÀngda profiler, dÄ de inte vill att obehöriga ska ha möjlighet att komma Ät privat information.

Strategies for social customer relationship management : the case of social media in the Swedish food industry

Consumption of meat and poultry has increased during the last ten years while the production in Sweden has decreased. Cheap imports are competing with Swedish products and consumers, restaurant and retail let the price decided what to purchase. Swedish food producers can become better at communicating the added values that meat and poultry produced in Sweden has. Social media gives companies a possible tool for communication in order to communicate and create a relationship with consumers. The rise of social media does not only affect consumer decisions making, but also corporate communication. The objective of this project is to investigate how social media can connect the farmer to the consumer.

Klienten som kunskapskÀlla : En kvalitativ studie om socialsekreterares kunskapskÀllor och kunskapsanvÀndning

The aim of this study was to describe and analyze how social workers working in social services using evidence based practice with special focus on the clients? experiences and wishes as source of knowledge in collecting information, assessment and decision. To get to the social workers experiences and descriptions we used a qualitative method with semistructured interviews. The empiric material of the study consists of eight interviews with social workers working in different social offices in different areas, in southern Sweden. The main result of this study was that social workers use clients? experiences and wishes differently in different parts of the investigations.

Konstruktionen av kön : En studie om socialtjÀnstens yttranden i 3 § LVU (lagen om vÄrd av unga)

The aim with this study was to examine how social service statement in 3 § social-judgements LVU (Swedish care of young persons act) produce ideas about gender. We have taken an interest in the production of both boys and girls and their mothers and fathers because there are clear differences in the description of these. From a historical perspective, the differences between gender in social assessments occurred despite the fact that discrimination is prohibited by law and despite the fact that social service shall work on the basis of an gender equality perspective. In the analysis and interpretation of the rulings we have been inspired by a critical discourse analysis. 30 social-judgements have been analyzed where of 15 concerns girls and 15 involve boys.

Homo Svedikus - "Lika barn leka bÀst"? : En diskursanalys av Sverigedemokraternas principprogram

Syftet med vÄr studie var att se hur Sverigedemokraterna genom sitt principprogram konstruerar svenskhet och pÄ sÄ vis skapar en grÀns mellan ?oss och de andra?. Metoden för vÄr studie har varit en kvalitativ text- och diskursanalys. VÄrt resultat visar att texten i programmet pÄverkar och konstruerar sociala kategorier som Àr avgörande för mÀnniskors sociala positioner och tillgÄng till resurser. Partiets konstruktion av svenskhet bygger pÄ en social och nationell likhet som skapar social ojÀmlikhet.

Det Àtstörda samhÀllet och det sociala arbetet : En kvalitativ studie om Àtstörningar ur ett sociokulturellt perspektiv

The main domain in which eating disorders are defined is medical, whereas socio-cultural perspectives are less common. Because social workers seeks to explain different problems taking societal factors into account, we asked ourselves if social workers have a way of understanding eating disorders, that is different from a medical point of view. Two focus group interviews were conducted; the one composed by social workers with experience of working with eating disorders, and the other by social workers without that experience, which enabled comparisons. The interviews were analyzed using socio-cultural and feminist perspectives. The result showed that the social workers use socio-cultural perspectives in explaining eating disorders.
