Today we live in an interconnected world. Through globalization and the development of information technology one can say that, today everyone is our neighbour. The result of our actions can easily spread and affect people on the other side of the world within seconds.Meanwhile, Third World countries are developing into stable economies and Western European corporations are expanding like never before and setting up their organizations in these new markets.This of course is not unproblematic, it creates new challenges for international organizations especially when it comes to communication. An example of that same problematic communication presented itself for Arla Foods in what came to be called the Cartoon Crisis.In late September of 2005 a number of cartoons depicting the holy prophet Muhammed were published in a Danish newspaper. This event sparked scores of protest ranging from Morocco to the Philippines.

Examensarbetets syfte är att undersöka påståendet om att homosexuella mäns identitet inte bör representeras i tragedi, på grund av genrens maskulina ideal. Istället bör representationen ske i melodram då genren relaterar till feminina värden. Textanalysen av två teaterpjäser, tragedin The River and the Mountain (Uganda, 2012) och melodramen The Boys in the Band (USA, 1968), visar att tragedin står för en essentialistisk (biologisk) syn på sexuell identitet medan melodramen står för en konstruktivistisk (kulturell och social). Kunskap om homosexuell kultur kan inte ses som en nödvändighet för en homosexuell identitet. Tragedi bör därför inte avfärdas som en politiskt svag genre att representera homosexuella män i.

Vårt syfte med läromedelsgranskningen i matematik är att synliggöra variationen i lärobokens uppgifter. Vi har utformat ett analysschema som utgår ifrån tolv faktorer som vi anser är viktiga för ett varierat och lustfyllt lärande. Undersökningen omfattar sju läroböcker i skolår 4. Vårt resultat visar att variationen i läroböckerna är bristfällig. Många aspekter, som bör finnas med för att väcka elevernas nyfikenhet och lust att lära, saknas..

The aim of this thesis is to examine the theoretical developments on social entrepreneurship. Our purpose is to create a better understanding of the phenomenon leading to new insights. We have categorized the knowledge of the concept into social economy, social ownership, social innovation and social missions. Drawing from our theoretical review we have chosen four empirical illustrations, Grameen Bank, Wikipedia, Basta Arbetskooperativ, Jörn Hälsogemenskap, and we have shown how these fit into the general description of the social entrepreneur. With help of our illustrations we show that it is complicated to pin point the core of social entrepreneurship as they each have separate structures, innovations, social missions and operate close to different sectors.

Denna uppsats inleder med att visa hur orsakerna bakom Darfurkonflikten till stor del ligger på strukturell nivå, det vill säga att socioekonomiska och politiska faktorer varit avgörande konfliktutlösare.Uppsatsens utgångspunkt är dock att ovan nämnda strukturella konfliktorsaker ej fullt ut kan förklara varför konflikten fått en så våldsam utveckling som folkmord och etnisk rensning. Utifrån ett konstruktivistiskt perspektiv analyseras därför alternativa orsaker bakom våldsutvecklingen genom tillämpande av socialpsykologiska teorier kring identitet, hot- och fiendebilder.Valda socialpsykologiska teorier illustrerar således hur identitetskonstruktion och negativa föreställningar om "de andra" är centrala aspekter i Darfurkonflikten där de etniska identitetsmarkörerna "arab" och "afrikan" växt sig starka de senaste åren. Tajfels kategoriseringsteori, Northrups eskaleringmodell och Azars PSC-teori är några av dessa teorier som kastar ljus över möjliga förklaringar till detta genom att sammanlänka olika faktorer bakom identitetskonstruktion. Återkommande teman här är rädsla, osäkerhet och icke uppfyllda grundläggande mänsliga behov såsom exempelvis ekonomisk- och politisk trygghet och social säkerhet.Osäkerhet och rädsla för den egna gruppens identitet och överlevnad är således nyckeln till att förstå våldsutvecklingen i Darfur, där socialpsykologiska, men även till viss del strukturella, faktorer på olika sätt påverkar..

Följande frågor ligger till grund för vårt arbete: - Har eleverna förstått No-undervisningen på det sätt läraren undervisat? - Vilka metoder är bättre än andra för att eleverna ska tillgodogöra sig undervisningen? Vi har dels gjort en litteraturgenomgång dels en enkätstudie för att få svar på frågorna. Vi har kommit fram till att majoriteten av eleverna har förstått lärarens undervisning och att laborationer i kombination med diskussioner har gett bra resultat..

Vår projektredogörelse är baserad på hur man gör en faktabaserad sagobok för barn. Syftet med att göra en barnbok är att sätta sig in de estetiska och kunskapsmässiga processerna. Boken är tänkt att fungera som både tyst- och högläsningsbok, men ska även kunna ligga som grund och vara en inspirationskälla för ett temaarbete om planeter. Inför projektet har vi läst litteratur om hur barnböcker/sagor är uppbyggda och fakta om planeterna. Sedan gjorde vi vår bok utifrån vad vi läst, egna erfarenheter och framförallt egen fantasi. Efter en intensiv arbetsprocess blev resultatet en bok som kan klassificeras som både barnbok och sagobok..

The purpose of this essay was to investigate affecting factors concerning social workers in social services assessments with cases of abuse. We wanted to see if social workers in social services tend to make different assessments of the need of substance abusers care. Our survey was carried out as a vignettesurvey with complementary interviews as means to deepen the outcome results.Our survey showed that the included social workers in social services in some senses make different assessments when it comes to choice of effort put in for the client. We shed light on different factors and circumstances, which could bear meaning for the social workers in social services assessments. Examples of factors were the social workers in social services age, gender, working experience and attitude towards substance abusers..

Social work is a social phenomenon, existing in most societies, that has given rise to a multitude of special organizations and professions. For that reason social work is dealing with a complex identity. The purpose of this study is to illustrate how social workers and the scientific discourse interpret the concept of social work. In addition to that the study intends to show similarities and differencies. The research process containes two studies, one based on qualitative interviews with five social workers and the other consisting a surway of academic litterature.

Det som jag ville undersöka var om coaching på Arbetsförmedlingen är en effektiv metod för att få ut arbetslösa på arbetsmarknaden.Metoden som användes var kvalitativ och det empiriska materialet inhämtades genom halvstrukturerade intervjuer. I studien deltog fem respondenter, tre deltagare och två coachingledare. Resultatet analyseras med hjälp av tidigare forskning och begreppen coaching, lösningsfokuserad korttidsterapi, skam, empowerment och konstruktivism.Resultaten visade att två av tre deltagare är mycket positiva till att ha deltagit i coachingrupperna. Ingen av respondenterna har ännu fått arbete, men alla har fått nya idéer och motivation att få ett arbete.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine how social procurement can be a further development of public-private partnership. This is done with interviews and a case study of the social procurement Mitt Gröna Kvarter and its labor effort Boendebyggarna. The theoretical framework used in the thesis consists of public-private partnership and corporate social responsibility. It tries to answer the following questions:What does this social procurement mean by the concept of public-private partnership?What does this social procurement mean for the participants involved?How can social procurement be seen as a further development of public-private partnership?The thesis uses the theory development around the concepts of public-private partnership and corporate social responsibility and shows that social procurement does indeed have similarities to public-private partnership and could very well be a further development of it..

The aim of this study is to illuminate social worker?s perception of social class within the Swedish social service system. This study therefor examine if social class contributes to the production and reproduction of the client and what impact social class has on the interaction between client and social workers. The study was conducted with qualitative semi-structured interviews with social workers from three different departments of social service. The theoretical approach is Yeheskel Hasenfeld?s theory about moral practices in welfare organisations, Michael Lipsky and Roine Johansson?s theories about client construction and Pierre Bourdieu?s class theory.

My big interest in sports was what shaped my choice of subject for the essay. The purpose of this study has been to explore the social meaning of team sports for functionally impaired persons. In order to fulfil the purpose of the essay I formed following questions: How do the actives experience their participation in team sports? And how important is the social intercourse in team sports to the individual welfare? The methods I?ve used have been qualitative with an ethnographic approach. I have used participant observations and field interviews to gather my empirical material.

This study analyses social age as a phenomenon and if unaccompanied refugee children has a social age that, according to the Swedish culture, do not correspond with their biological age and if so is, the reason for that. Furthermore, our study has discussed the potential consequences of the effects for the unaccompanied refugee children and the social age when interacting with Swedish society. According to our study, the social age is effected by other factors besides cultural norms, values and role expectations that a society has on a specific biological age. The results in this study shows that social age is a vital component to someone?s identity.
