The aim of this study was to examine how clients who have or have previously had a drug- and/or alcohol addiction experienced interchanges with social workers. In this study, eight semi-structured interviews were made with respondents from an out-patient clinic in a small town in Sweden. Questions were asked regarding clients? experience of the social workers' attitudes during the initial meeting as well as all continuing meetings. Other possible variables that affected the interchanges, either positively or negatively, including how the clients wanted to be treated, were also explored.

The aim of this M.A.-thesis in social work is to problematize the assimilatoric concept of integration and its discourses in a postcolonial perspective in relation to social work in Denmark.As a support theory I use symbolic interactionism. By using these theories I show how the concept of integration and its discourses, when its aim is assimilatoric, can be understood and problematized with concepts as binary oppositions and hegemony.It is shown that the construction of the discoursive other is a useful term as an instrument of interpretation of power in general. The relevance to social work in relation to the social workers double powered positions, professional and cultural power to define 'the other', in social work with ethnic minorities is shown in relation to the post colonial perspective with support of symbolic interactionism. The white western world hegemony and the social workers power positions in relation to the clients fits to the theoretic frame chosen in the thesis.A second aim in this thesis is to point to new ways for social work and to the necessity to reflect over a globalized world characterized by international migration, ethnic relations and diversity..

Tiggare/tiggeri är fenomen som blivit allt vanligare i vårt svenska samhälle. Samtidigt som företeelsen av tiggare/tiggeri blivit mer synlig har även röster som kräver ett förbud av tiggeri höjts. Märkbart är hur det via social media sprids budskap med starka argument som belyserden problematik många människor upplever med tiggeriet. Via social media skapas uppslutningar med olika mål, som växer och frodas i nätets öppna rum. Syftet med vår studie är att få en förståelse för vad en sammanslutning av människor, i detta fall ett Facebook evenemang, kan generera i form av kommunikativ praktik samt vilken inverkan social media kan ha i frågan om dess förmåga att sprida ett budskap.

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva hur smärta, hos äldre personer som har diagnosen demens, kan identifieras och vilka hjälpmedel som finns att tillgå för att skatta/bedöma smärta hos dem som har diagnosen demens. Dessutom var syftet att beskriva vilka kriterier/särdrag man använder sig av vid smärtbedömningen hos de med sjukdomen demens. Artiklar söktes i följande databaser: Academic Search Elite, Cinahl, High Wire Press, Pub Med och i Science Direct. Dessa databaser valdes relaterat till att de är erkända och hade ett relativt stort utbud på relevanta artiklar inom ämnet.Designen i denna studie var beskrivande litteraturstudie där resultatet baseras på vetenskapliga artiklar. Totalt 31 artiklar var relevanta för studien och togs med i resultatet, av dessa var 24 kvalitativa, 4 kvantitativa och 3 artiklar var både kvalitativa och kvantitativa.

The purpose with this examination essay was to find out if participation of children in social welfare investigations had increased since the social services had started to work with BBIC. I compared the participation of the child before BBIC, then when social service had started to work with BBIC and I tried to see if there were increased participation in the investigations. My theoretic starting-point was the symbolic interactionism and I used the qualitative method of investigation. In my investigation I found that there is not yet any increase in participation of the child in the investigations when social service work with BBIC. What I found was that the reason to start an investigation often was that the parents made the problem for the child and that conditions at home for the child influenced the possibility of the child to communi- cate with an adult that the child did not know.

We chose to study the groups for divorced children in Vellinge municipal because there was no evaluation made of these kinds of groups with the involved methods.Vellinge municipal has had groups for children to divorced parents since 2000. During this period of time the total numbers of children in these groups have expanded. As of now, there are two groups.Our goal with this study was to see which way the CAP, Children Are People, manual has been implemented in the every-day work in the group. Several studies have been made about CAP but not in the context of groups for divorced children. We have also examined results in other municipals that have implemented groups for divorced children into their social services.We have interviewed ten children and four social workers.

Denna uppsats handlar om social ångest hos elever i skolan relaterat till skolans arbetssätt och redovisningsformer. Vårt syfte var att undersöka lärares uppfattningar huruvida skolans arbetssätt och redovisningsformer kan medföra eller motverka att social ångest framkallas hos eleverna. Syftet var även att undersöka elevers åsikter om arbetssätt och redovisningsformer i skolan. Utifrån resultatet av enkätundersökningen, intervjuerna och det som tidigare forskats fram i ämnet drog vi slutsatsen att skolans arbetssätt och redovisningsformer både kan medföra och motverka att social ångest framkallas hos eleverna. Detta beroende på vilken hänsyn som tas till problem med social ångest i skolans vardagliga arbete..

Skolutveckling och ledarskap, lärarutbildningen, Malmö Högskola. Syftet med denna studie har främst varit att tydliggöra mötet mellan teori och praktik i ett skolutvecklingsprojekt.

Denna studie undersökte samsjuklighet mellan smärta och social ångest i en smärtpopulation genom klusteranalys. Syftet var att undersöka om det fanns en undergrupp bland smärtpatienter som skattade högt på social ångest samt högt på upplevd invalidering före och efter smärtbehandling. Syftet var vidare att se om denna undergrupp skattade annorlunda vad gäller funktion jämfört med smärtpatienter med låg grad av social ångest samt se hur individer rörde sig mellan kluster över tid. Data bestod av självskattningsformulär från 157 smärtpatienter. Resultatet visade att det fanns en undergrupp som skattade högt på social ångest och upplevd invalidering.

This study aims to examine how social workers, in the Swedish social services, perceive and interpret LVU § 3 from a gender perspective. In total eight social workers participated in the study, attending interviews based on a vignette. From a gender perspective we wanted to found out how the social workers define "other socially destructive behaviour" and understand their thoughts about this subject. Moreover, we aimed to see if social workers perceive any differences between boys and girls behaviour. Based on several theories, two gender theories and concepts we have analysed our result from the interviews.

Syftet med studien är att analysera om, och i så fall hur, Försvarsmaktens sjukvårdskoncept tillvaratar krigsvetenskaplig teori. Genom en kvalitativ ansats och användning av främst fallstudier analyseras praktisk verksamhet under insatserna NBG 11 och FS 22 jämfört teorin. Inom sjukvårdstjänstens tre principiella områden (medicinskt understöd, medicinsk evakueringskedja och planering av medicinskt understöd i operationsområdet) tillvaratas krigsvetenskaplig teori men det framkommer också att praktisk verksamhet har ett behov av större tydlighet och mer detaljrikedom än vad befintlig teori erbjuder. Vagheten i teorin möjliggör dock flexibla lösningar och skapande av modulära system förutsatt att ledningen är förutseende och har godasambandsmöjligheter.Då antalet fall är få blir generaliserbarheten av resultatet begränsat. Sjukvårdskonceptet anpassas alltid efter rådande förutsättningarna och fördjupad förståelse för konceptet är viktigare än generaliserbarheten av resultatet..

The interest of mindfulness has grown steadily during the last two decades. Mindfulness presence in the area of social work is mostly as an intervention offered to clients. However, the purpose of this study is to examine what implications the social worker?s mindfulness may have for the relationship with the clients. There is a lack of scientific studies focusing on mindfulness and the relationship between the client and the social worker.

The aim of this study is to through six interviews, with six experienced, social workers?, in three cities, understand how the child?s position in the Swedish child protective services? enquiries has change, and the factors behind it. The aim is also to compare if the social workers? view of the child?s position in the enquire has change accordingly to Socialstyrelsens intentions of BBIC. The theoretical approaches that was used is the new institutionalism, the Shier?s pathways to participation and the term discretion.

The purpose of this study was to examine why adventure treatment is mainly directed towards young men and how that can be related to the construction of masculinity.Our questions were:- What were the social workers thoughts and images about masculinity?- Why did they think adventure treatment were suitable for young men and for what reasons?- How did the social workers describe their role as treatment providers?This study was a qualitative study that was based on six interviews as well as observations. We tried to find patterns and deviations in our empirical material. Then we connected them with previous research and theories. The social workers described the typical client as a competitive kind of person, interested in physical activities and with boyish manners.

A relatively new sector in the world is the one concerning social enterprises and their development. Social enterprises are enterprises that are working with social objectives, their goal is not to make as much money as possible. This essay is looking at the development in social enterprises in two countries; Great Britain and Sweden and how the employee numbers in the enterprises have changed over time. The result shows a large increase in the number of employees in the enterprises in Sweden, however the enterprises in Great Britain does show a declining number of employees. This essay also tries to examine whether a couple of external factors, taken from a series of already existing theories, are affecting the possibility of development in these enterprises.
