The purpose of this study was to examine how social work professionals view their professional role and how they think about the concept of social work. I also wanted to investigate what they believe characterize a professional social work. For the purposes of this study, I chose a qualitative approach in which I interviewed five people linked to the social work. The theories which I have assumed in the analysis of the results are power theory, organization theory and professional theory. The results of this study show that the respondents believe that a professional social work is performed by someone who has training and experience in the field.

Social sustainability is often regarded as a solution to social problems in general. In this study, on the contrary, social sustainability is conceived as a socially constructed concept and the result of a certain way of looking at the world, the human being and the ideal society. The study centers around Kinda municipality in the southern region of Östergötland and a few of its elder inhabitants. What meaning and substance social sustainability is contained with as well as the effects that are produced by these conceptualizations is explored and analyzed. Syftet med denna uppsats är att utifrån ett socialpsykologiskt perspektiv undersöka hur personer med psykisk sjukdom upplever att de blir och har blivit bemötta av människor i sin omgivning. Samt att undersöka vilken betydelse de tillskriver sociala relationer och bemötanden för sin psykiska hälsa. Studien har en kvalitativ hermeneutisk ansats och baseras på fem semi -strukturerade intervjuer.Resultatet visar att personer med psykisk sjukdom upplever stor brist på förståelse och acceptans från sin omgivning när det gäller hur de har blivit bemötta i relation till sin psykiska sjukdom. Resultatet visar också att personer med psykisk sjukdom värdesätter gemenskap och samhörighet som är präglad av förståelse och acceptans.För att analysera resultatet av studien har följande teorier använts; den psykiska strukturens förutsättningar, sociala relationers karaktär - avseende emotionerna skam och stolthet, människan som social varelse och depressionens socialpsykologi.I analysen framkommer att bristen på förståelse och acceptans påverkar intervjupersonerna självbild på ett negativt sätt. Konsekvensen blir en bristande tillit både till sig själv och andra och resulterar i försvårandet av att upprätthålla optimalt differentierade sociala relationer. Att intervjupersonerna värdesätter gemenskap och samhörighet som är präglad av förståelse och acceptans tolkas som att intervjupersonerna genom förståelse och acceptans blir speglade på ett sätt som stärker det sanna självet. Speglingen förmodas vara betydelsefull utifrån att intervjupersonerna med hjälp av den positiva speglingen kan skapa meningar som tillskriver den egna identiteten värdet av ett autentiskt själv.

The essay is about pensioners who are working out at a gym. My starting point is the research program "Culture of ageing? and the theory that pensioners in the post- and late modern society conquer new potential areas. I am studying the meeting between pensioners and the gym. How the pensioners conquer the gym, relate to their training and what makes them stay after the first introduction.

This thesis discuss the matter of non-profit-making associations as a self regulatory technique out of a theoretical concept of power. The object for the study is the non-profit-making association Ditt Nya Hageby, which work in the neigborhood of Hageby, a suburb to Norrköping. In the study the association is placed in a contemporary postmodern social context and analyzed through semi- structured qualitative interviews, accordingly to hermeneutical method, with five active members of the association as informants. The association consists of members who lives in the neighborhood. Together with a hired organizer they realizes their own ideas in to projects which unquestionably improves the social and physical enviroment in Hageby.

I uppsatsen undersöks vilka svårigheter en före detta kriminell möter längs vägen vid återanpassning till samhället. Går det att tvätta bort en stämpel som avvikare och hur påverkar stigmatiseringen deras liv. Vi vill alltså lyfta fram hur före detta kriminella upplever vägen tillbaka in i samhället och möjligheterna till ett normalt liv. Uppsatsen studeras med hjälp av en kvalitativ metod för att på bästa sätt få en förståelse för en före detta kriminells egna tankar och upplevelser kring processen att bygga upp ett nytt liv. Det insamlade materialet bygger på intervjuer med två livsberättelser, en nyckelinformant och kompletteras vidare med ett case.

The purpose of this study was to enlighten the views of male social work students on; the social work profession, social work status and their career options. Also, the study aimed at getting these students angles of approach on the fact that they, being men, are a minority group within the profession of social work. Some of the main questions were: Why does not social work as a profession seem to attract men? What about the status of the profession of social work? What were the thoughts of male social work students about this? What advantages or disadvantages did they recognise, being a minority in the profession? The method used in this study was doing separate interviews. All of the interviewed students were convinced that they had a better chance of getting a job.

Studien har tagit sin utgångspunkt i det kunskapsintensiva arbetslivet där individen ses som kunskapsbärare. Det blir avgörande för organisationen att ta tillvara på denna kunskap och således ställs kunskapshantering centralt för studien. Syftet har varit att undersöka hur chefer upplever och uttrycker hur individburen kunskap kan komma organisationen till gagn. För kunskapsöverföring, mellan individ och organisation, har forskning betonat vikten av ett kollektivt lärande. Studien utgår därför från ett socialt perspektiv på lärande.Med hjälp av en kvalitativ strategi med semistrukturerade intervjuer inhämtades empirin.

In Sweden the social assistance from a historical perspective, has been a part of the social legislation, since the 18th century. In that time called poor relief. Through the centuries this has established the social assistance we have today. With focus on the child, we have attempted to illustrate how the social workers consider the child perspective when they are dealing with the social assistance. We wanted to get a view of how the social worker reasons about needs the children have and how they can see that the benefit has been provided for.

The aim of this study was to enlighten social workers experiences of social networks direct influence in Swedish social services, and in which ways those influences are manifested. Some of the issues that are being explored in this study are: The separation of the private sphere and professional duties; boundaries and dual relationships that occurs inside social networks; the use of social networks as a control-instrument in authority exercise towards clients; and social networks arising impact on social work. The empirical material was collected with nine qualitative interviews with social workers stationed at different social service departments in a Swedish municipality. Also one qualitative e-survey was sent out to, and answered by four social workers with a managerial position in the same municipality.The results reveal that several informants have experienced different problematic situations involving clients within the social networks. This study shows that the informants are very restrictive with what information (text and pictures) they publish on their facebook-profiles, because of their position of authority and the awareness of the possibility of always being watched.

Today, social media is used mostly by people in their private life. However, companies are more and more tapping into the area of social media. To this date, mostly B2C companies have been successful in their social media strategies. This qualitative thesis aims to investigate how B2B companies can benefit from using social media as a means to communicate and build relations with their customers. The medtech industry has been chosen as the object of study.Through depth interviews with people in the medtech industry and social media experts, data has been collected in order to answer the questions of (1) how ready customers in the medtech industry are to receive information through social media and (2) how companies can build the best possible social media strategy.

Denna uppsats tar upp ämnet social konflikt i samband med Nordirlandskonflikten. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka huruvida social konflikt kan verka främjande för samhället, samt att titta på de orsaker som gör att konflikten på Nordirland vidmakthålls. Detta har utförts genom en litteraturstudie av teorier utvecklade av Coser, Simmel och Merton.Slutsatser jag har dragit utifrån denna studie är bland annat att social konflikt i detta fall, parallellt med de nedbrytande faktorerna, också kan verka för en gynnande samhällsutveckling på vissa områden..

Denna uppsats har som syfte att ta reda på hur människor socialt konstruerar och omkonstruerar sin identitet. Detta har vi gjort utifrån följande frågeställning; Hur kan muslimer i Landskrona socialt konstruera sina identiteter? Genom umma och/eller territoriell tillhörighet? I vår teoridel har vi utgått från ett konstruktivistiskt perspektiv där vi fokuserar oss på teorier kring konstruktion av identitet i allmänhet, av territoriell identitet och av muslimsk identitet, vilka alla är socialt konstruerade och kontextberoende samt att vi använt teorier kring föreställningen om ?den andre?, som är en grundläggande utgångspunkt för identitetskonstruktionen. För att kunna få veta hur människor själv uppfattar sina identiteter har vi gjort tre stycken intervjuer med tre olika muslimer i staden Landskrona, vilka utgör vårt primärmaterial. Dessa intervjuer har genom en narrativ analys visat hur våra respondenter har konstruerat och/eller omkonstruerat sina identiteter.

This study examines the opinions of social workers regarding the social networks of people with a substance addiction. The intention was to get a more nuanced understanding of what characterizes a positive or negative social network, as well as which functions different types of social networks serve. Data were collected through qualitative interviews with seven social workers. More specifically the social workers were oriented towards working for social services with clients that struggle with substance abuse. The empirical material has been analyzed with a thematic analysis.
