This thesis examines the relationship between recognition of prior learning and the aim to increase social and ethnical diversity in higher education. Recognition of prior learning is a result of educational politics aiming to broaden social and ethnical recruitment to higher education. By examining if recognition of prior learning rather can, and shall, be seen as part of what Pierre Bourdieu calls educational social reproduction I try to question whether it fulfils education policy goals or not. My results show that persons responsible for recognition of prior learning rather recognise knowledge from prior educational institutions than knowledge gained outside the educational system. Considering this, recognition of prior learning does not quite live up to the aims.

För att motverka att svenska multinationella företag utnyttjar skattesystemet genom att sätta olika transferpriser till dotterbolag i olika länder, och därmed placera vinsten i ett land med låg skattesats, tillkom en ny lag den 1 januari 2007. Denna lag medför att företag med gränsöverskridande handel måste dokumentera för Skatteverket vad deras transferpriser uppgår till och hur de beräknar dem. Företagen ska enligt lagen använda en grundläggande prissättningsmetod, så kallat armlängdsprincipen, som innebär att alla transaktioner inom koncernen ska motsvara vad som skulle ha tillämpats mellan oberoende parter under jämförbara omständigheter.Den nya lagen om dokumentationsskyldighet har väckt många debatter och är idag ett mycket högaktuellt ämne inom affärsvärlden. Jag tyckte att ämnet verkade intressant och bestämde mig att forska vidare. Dels för att generellt ta reda på hur företag i allmänhet har dokumenterat, men också utifrån ett fallföretag få en djupare inblick i frågorna.

An individual's social capital consists largely of the social networks that may consist offamily, friends and acquaintances. The social network is of great significance on olderpeople's physical and mental health. Aim: The overall purpose is to examine the knowledgeof social network and the health of the elderly. Method: Litterature review, using threedifferent databases, CINAHL, PubMed and Scoupus for searching of articles, with differentcombinations of keywords. Results: Different types of social networks have both positive andnegative effects on health.

Grunden för barns matematikkunskaper läggs redan i förskolan. Pedagogers inställning till ämnet, i detta fall matematik, har stor betydelse för inlärningen. Lärarutbildningen lade stor vikt på pedagogisk dokumentation som redskap för pedagogen och barnet att synliggöra lärande. Den här studiens syfte har varit att ta reda på vilken inställning pe-dagoger och barn i förskolan har till matematik. Syftet var även att studera hur barnens matematiska utveckling dokumenteras och hur pedagogerna arbetar med barnens mate-matikförståelse i förskolans verksamhet.

This essay will examine the social organization in the archipelago of Tonga. To accomplish this purpose, archaic societies and structures such as ancient Egypt and Hawaii will be examined to obtain a closer understanding of the building blocks which constitute a chiefdom or kingdom. Since Patrick V. Kirch (2010) recently redefined the Hawaiian archipelago as a kingdom this essay will examine if the same can be done with the chiefdom of Tonga since it have similarities to the Hawaiian social organization.To do this the essay will examine and describe both the geographical organization of the states and the social organization. The aim of this Master's thesis is to study what place public libraries have in local politics, particularly from the point of view of the politicians. To answer this, I have interviewed politicians, participated as a silent observer of a public debate, and studied articles on library politics in newspapers and other press. The results show that politicians in general have a positive view of libraries and good co-operation with library professionals, and that they have a fairly up-to-date view of libraries. They are, however, less interested in library issues in general, and are often complacent with the way things are already running. The newspaper studies show that library issues are usually only discussed when a specific library is somehow in danger.

Syftet med denna studie är att bidra med kunskap och en diskussion om hur några pedagoger beskriver konstruktionen av utvecklingssamtal på förskolan samt hur pedagogerna beskriver det innehåll som de anser bör finnas med vid ett utvecklingssamtal. Studien har genomförts med utgångspunkt från ett konstruktionistiskt perspektiv med hjälp av en mindre enkätundersökning samt en fördjupad intervjustudie där svaren sedan har bearbetats kvalitativt. Bearbetning av materialet har gjorts genom att tolka innebörder och konstruera kategorier efter de svar som erhållits. Resultatet av studien visar att de deltagande pedagogerna använder sig av fortlöpande anteckningar under terminen, multimedia såsom Ipad och digitalkamera och pedagogisk dokumentation samt barnkonferens när de förbereder sig inför ett utvecklingssamtal. Pedagogerna anser också att de viktigaste delarna att ta upp vid ett utvecklingssamtal är barnets utveckling och lärande, information från föräldrar, föräldrarnas tankar och önskemål samt barnets trivsel och trygghet på förskolan. En viktig aspekt är relationen mellan föräldrarna och pedagogerna där både denna studies respondenter och tidigare forskning är samstämmiga, en god relation är grunden till hur utvecklingssamtalet uppfattas. .

The purpose of this essay was to investigate and analyze affecting factors concerning social workers in two different municipality social services, Karlskrona and Karlshamn, working with cases of youth drug abuse. We wanted to see what affects social workers in their choices of assessments of youth drug abusers. We wanted to find out whether the organizational aspects or the cliental qualities affect the social workers more than the other in the choices of assessments. Among the cliental qualities we used in this essay, gender was the most important quality and therefore the quality we wanted to pay special attention to. When it came to the organizational aspects we paid special attention to the social workers boundaries of agency.

The aim of this qualitative deep interview study was to gain deeper understanding of single immigrant mothers´life situation. Grounded Theory was the method of analysis. Repeated interviews with five immigrant women from different parts of the world showed that women were in need of wider and deeper social networks in order to reconstruct their identities. Social support and social networks benefit, not only reconstruction of identity, but also personal well-being. Yet it is difficult for them to create social networks in the new country, because of single motherhood.

This Master's thesis aims to investigate librarians' identity construction through the study of their narratives about themselves and their lives. We want to understand in what way the education in Library- and Information science contributes to shape the students professional identity and how these identities then continue to be transformed when they enter their professional lives. We assert that this construction of identity takes place through socialisation. We start with the reference work because we think this is a central part of librarians' tasks. Our theoretical starting point is constructionism, we mean that professional identity is a social construction that continuously is formed and transformed.We interviewed six former students at Library- and Information science at Lund University.

The objective of this bachelor thesis is to examine how some larger Swedish public libraries reason about the use of social media as part of their activities and outreach. To attain the purpose three research-questions were established; why does the public library use social media? How does the public library utilize social media? What extra value do librarians believe that use of social media can add to the libraries? function? The methodology used in the thesis is qualitative interviews. Six interviews were conducted with librarians in charge of social media at their respective libraries. Five of the interviews were conducted by telephone and one by email.

My purpose with the study is to investigate if it is possible to argue in favor of organizing public libraries according to the client based theory. To create a base to argue from I have studied UFO, a department focused on young adults at the age between 15 and 25 at the public library of Malmö. This case study, performed by investigating the documentation of UFO as well as conducting an interview with the project leader, is the base from which I then can argue for or against the idea of organizing public libraries according to the client based theory. Public libraries should always reflect the communities they serve. This challenges the staff of different libraries in different regions to arrange their organizations accordingly to their local population and to be flexible enough to follow the changes of this population.

The purpose of this study was to examine how modern information and communication technology influence collective action within the framework of social movements. By studying the protests in the Arab World 2011, and focusing on the social movements in Suleimanya in northern Iraq, by observation taken on place, the essay discusses that collective action is closely related to the use of technology, for example cell phones and Internet.Result shows that modern communication technology has enabled immeasurable access andconnection between individuals throughout the world, which seems to be different from previouscollective action.
