We investigated a retirement home, where we looked at whether there are differences, disagreements or conflicts between teams who work day and night shifts. Our purpose was to examine the Heads of Unit and the employees perspectives on their perceived work situation, cooperation difficulties and why they emerged. We chose the general systems theory as our theoretical basis, which gave us the opportunity to highlight different parts that can affect the working climate and the cooperation of the working groups. The study also highlights the importance of structure, common goals, reporting and dialogue meetings. To understand the perceived work situation, we used methodological triangulation, using quantitative and qualitative methods (surveys, semi-structured interviews).

Sedan 1990- talet har de offentliga organisationerna genomgått flera stora förändringar som medfört att enhetschefer inom den kommunala verksamheten fått ökat ansvar och befogenheter, vilket gör enhetschefsrollen mer komplext. Rapporter visar på svårigheter att rekrytera och behålla chefer, därför är viktigt att undersöka hur enhetschefens arbete ska kunna utvecklas till ett mer attraktivt arbete. Ett attraktivt arbete skapas genom att ge medarbetarna bra förutsättningar inom arbetsinnehåll, arbetstillfredsställelse, samt arbetsförhållanden. I chefsyrket ingår tre roller varav en är medarbetarrollen som enligt teorin inte är speciellt prioriterad eller synliggjord. Studiens syfte är att identifiera vad som gör enhetschefyrket till ett attraktivt arbete samt hur det kan utvecklas.

Bakgrund: Brytpunktssamtal är svåra samtal för alla deltagande. Bemötandet och hur beskedet ges kan bli avgörande för patient och närståendes upplevelse av livets slut. Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva sjuksköterskors erfarenheter av brytpunktssamtal i kommunal hemsjukvård. Metod: Data analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys med induktiv ansats. Sju intervjuer genomfördes med sjuksköterskor.

The purpose of this study was to examine how professional workers understand the bullying problem among Swedish youth in the age of 13-15 years. The main focus was to examine the new phenomena electronic bullying, from a professional point of view.The biggest question to answer was: "How does the school and organizations understand the bullying situation among Swedish youth today?" Individual interviews with professional social workers within the school and nationwide organizations have been used to fulfill the purpose of this work. Two different respondent types were used in order to get a wide perspective and a dynamic view.Electronic bullying had increased, but the school yard was still the most common arena for bullying, according to the respondents. The schools tried to prevent bullying, but the social workers felt that they lacked some knowledge of electronic bullying, because it was relative new.

The report describes a measuring method for analysis of energy consumption measurement in microwave ovens. Concurrently that the awareness of the environment evolves the demands are growing for more power saving products. This is also counting within the Home Appliance business, which is Whirlpools business area. Whirlpool is therefore interested of launching microwave ovens with documented low power consumption. To be able to implement this, both asserted measuring equipment, that fulfils all demands, and a standard procedure is required.

Communicative recycling, to repeat utterances uttered by oneself or others, is a common phenomenon in all societies and languages. The talk of persons with autism often features recycling. The aim of this study was to identify different forms of recycling in communication involving a boy with autism and to describe its functions. Communication between the boy with autism, who used Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) to communicate, and his parents and teachers was videotaped. The conversations took place in familiar settings, in the boy?s home and at his pre-school.

Background: Sleep-disturbances in persons with Alzheimer´s disease are prevalent. They are characterized as increased frequency and duration of awakenings, decreased slow-wave sleep, REM-sleep and increase of day-time napping. Depression and lower quality of life are associated with sleep-disturbances. Altogether a significant source of stress for caregivers and an important factor in institutionalization. Non-pharmacological treatment alternatives are rare.Method: Single-case A-B-C design, with non-concurrent multiple baselines, a pilotstudy.Aim: To explore if an educational program on sleep, sleep disturbances and behavioural change directed towards caregivers improved sleep, depression and quality of life in persons with Alzheimer´s disease living at home.

This bachelor?s thesis describes a qualitative case study of a public library as ?third place?, a place besides from home and workplace visited frequently for conversation. The subject is chosen because of the many roles of public libraries. The main query of the study is ?What view does the public library have of its role as third space and how does that relate to the way utilization of the public library as third place is seen??.

Ledningsbanor syftar till att föra ström eller digitala signaler mellan elektroniska komponenter. Traditionellt brukar ledare av solid metall användas, då metall har låg resistans och lämpar sig bra som strömledare. I denna studie utforskas möjlig-heten för olika material att fungera som textila ledningsbanor. Textila ledningsba-nor behövs bland annat i medicinska plagg med sensorer. En ledningsbana som ska vara i ett plagg måste både vara tvättbar och flexibel.

Syfte: Att undersöka distriktssköterskors erfarenheter av rollen som ledare för omvårdnadsarbetet i kommunal hemsjukvård. Metod: Studien hade en kvalitativ ansats. Tio distriktssköterskor verksamma inom kommunal hemsjukvård i två olika kommuner deltog i studien. Data insamlades via semi-strukturerade intervjuer och analyserades genom kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Resultat: Tre kategorier med åtta subkategorier framkom.

Socialtjänsten har ett ansvar för att se till att familjehemsplacerade barn får en trygg och bra uppväxt. Syftet med uppsatsen är att skapa en förståelse och en ökad kunskap kring hur väl socialtjänsten tar det ansvaret. Enligt tidigare forskning finns en del brister i familjehemsvår-den.För att ge en bild av socialtjänstens uppföljningsarbete med familjehemsplacerade barn har jag använt en kvalitativ intervjumetod och intervjuat familjehemsföräldrar och social-sekreterare kring tolv familjehemsplacerade barn.Några resultat är att socialtjänsten vanligtvis föjer upp placeringarna två gånger om året med hembesök där man pratar med barnet, att man i liten utsträckning använder någon strukturerad metod vid uppföljningen, att socialtjänsten oftast arbetar aktivt med barnets kontakt med de biologiska föräldrarna samt att socialtjänsten oftast har upprättat vårdplaner kring barnen. Det finns många faktorer som påverkar arbetet. Några av dem är barnets behov, tilltro till familje-hemmet, intressekonflikter, socialtjänstens organisation, ekonomiska resurser och personliga egenskaper hos socialsekreterarna.Resultaten har jämförts med tidigare forskning och analyserats utifrån systemteori och rollteo-ri.

In the beginning of the nineties there was a change in how the voluntary sector was perceived, and the significance of their work became reevaluated and more acknowledged. As a result, this sector gained a new and higher interest. The changes and downsizing in the welfare state with economic crises, due to political cutback, made the politicians look fore new solutions. One solution is to encourage cooperation between the public sector and the voluntary sector in order to handle the different needs of individuals.Uppsala community and the voluntary sector are working closely together within a project called ?God Livsmiljö?.

Today's climate and environmental issues have now been up for discussion for quite long. Various environmental measures have been taken, but it is not always certain that those measures actually are for the better because of the complexity of our environment. Therefore, studies of whole life cycles are very important even if they are time and resource intensive.Real estate accounts for 15% of global carbon emissions, but also affects our environment in many other aspects. In Sweden this number is even higher. About 30 % of its carbon dioxide emissions originates from building sector and changes are therefore of great importance.

Should I/we move abroad or not? This is a question that surely many of today?s expatriate Swedes asked themselves and was probably largely debated by most. How does is feel to move back to Sweden? I have chosen to contact a number of expatriate Swedes and some that have returned, in order to receive answers to these questions.The aim with this thesis is to study the experiences and thoughts of people living in a different country as to were they were born and also those of people returning to Sweden. I have used a hermeneutic analytical method alongside a socio-psychological identity perspective when I studied the replies of my 69 respondents.

AbstractIn this study eight caregivers, all with long experience from working in nursing homes for people with dementia, were interviewed.  The aim of the study was to describe the caregiver?s experiences in caring for people with dementia and Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia disorder. Data were processed by qualitative, inductive, content analysis. The results were presented in four categories: To connect, Two days are never the same, Being calm and giving time and All are needed. The result showed that caregivers met a variety of difficult and varied tasks in nursing.
