Abstract This essay discusses whether or not the technical assistance given by The WTO will effect the reduction of poverty in LDCs. The liberalization of trade is considered to be one of the main forces behind economic growth and the reduction of poverty. Can trade reduce poverty?The WTO formed The Integrated Framework pro to the Doha Round in 2001 to assist the LDCs in aiding them implement the WTO's framework. Has this implementation been effective?The WTO also created The EPRP program to the Doha Round in order to create poverty reducing projects amongst developing countries.

Med denna uppsats har jag ämnat att undersöka det skifte i popularitet och berömmelse som har skett mellan Diego Rivera och Frida Kahlo, vilka var ett par under stora delar av sina respektive liv. Vid tiden då de verkade var Rivera den mest erkände av de båda, men med 1900-talets senare hälft har Kahlos berömmelse kommit att bli vidsträckt. Detta skifte har jag undersökt genom att studera konstnärernas liv och konstnärskap i ljuset av såväl nationella som internationella omständigheter vid tiden för konstnärernas verkande, och därefter studerat åren som följer deras död. Då har jag återigen tagit hänsyn till internationella såväl som nationella perspektiv, och faktorer såsom stil, politik och kulturella företeelser har undersökts för att klarlägga hur, när och varför detta popularitetsskifte sker..

Antidumpning är ett aktuellt ämne som ökat i omfattning under senare tid och som sedermera påverkar handelsflödet mellan länder i världen. I denna uppsats skildras EU:s antidumpningspolitik, från anmälan om dumpning till slutgiltiga åtgärder, problem och tänkbara effekter. Vidare kartläggs EU:s antidumpningsåtgärder mot asiatiska cykelproducenter samt vilka effekter dessa resulterar i. De länder som ingår i undersökningen är Kina, Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesien, Malaysia och Thailand. Resultatet överensstämmer med de antaganden om importminskning, handelsomfördelning och prisökningar som tidigare forskning kommit fram till även om de inte är generellt applicerbara på alla länder i undersökningen då stora variationer förekommer..

The aim with this study is to identify and discuss discourses in public service policy documents to clarify that public service policy is political and not self-evident. The study's theoretical as well as methodological starting point is the discourse theory of Laclau and Mouffe, which ontological position is that all meaning is constructed by discourses. In the studied material, two discourses have been identified in policy concerning the content in public service media. The responsibility-discourse construct meanings of what content the policy wants to see in public service media and in the quality-discourse meanings of how the content should be is constructed. Public service policy is consistent over the period that has been studied and the study shows that there is consensus in the parliament about the regulation of the content in public service media.

In this essay I examine the causal relationship between confidence in institutions and growth in Sweden 1989-2002. By examining the causal relationship between these two variables, valuable indicators of the causal relationship between trust and growth can be obtained. The institutions which are used in this essay are chosen according to the theory on institutions for public administration building trust and social capital. The chosen institutions are primary schooling, the police and medical service. A Granger causality model is used to measure the causal relation and the results from the tests show that there is no causal relationship between growth and confidence in institutions.

Invandrarpolitik är ett omdiskuterat ämne i Sverige. Alla partier som befinner sig i riksdagen eller som har varit representerade i riksdagen har åsikter och förslag till invandrarpolitik, en vissa partier har mer eller mindre fokus på det området. Syftet med min studie är att undersöka om Folkpartiets invandrarpolitik har förändrats under tidsperioden 1990-2009. Jag använder mig av Carl Dahlströms tre dimensioner respektive åtta typer av invandrarpolitik som teori. Mitt material utgörs av partiets partiprogram och motioner som Folkpartiet har framfört i riksdagen.

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the most common economic effects of countries pursuing trade facilitation. Trade flows are constrained by non-tariff barriers and through trade facilitation these barriers can be decreased. We will study the effects of trade facilitation from a theoretical perspective and evaluate a number of empirical studies. Several different trade barriers will be identified as well as those regions and countries that will gain the most from trade facilitation. We draw the conclusion thatlarge gains would prevail for all countries and that the consumers, businesses and the state all benefit from trade facilitation.

Denna uppsats handlar om att skapa sig en förståelse för ämnesområde arbetstillfredsställelse. Syftet med studien är att skapa kännedom och få förståelse för vilka faktorer som leder till arbetstillfredsställelse respektive vantrivsel bland vårdbiträden. För att uppfylla syftets mål har en kvalitativ metod använts i form av personliga intervjuer. Som stöd tillämpades Herzbergs tvåfaktorsteori som beskriver olika faktorer som motiverar oss att känna tillfredsställelse till arbetslivet och olika faktorer som gör att vi vantrivsel på jobbet.Undersökningen visade att det som vårdbiträde upplever som mest viktigt för att känna arbetstillfredsställelse är att ha ett meningsfullt arbete, få uppskattning för arbetsinsatserna, goda relationer till arbetskamraterna, och en kompetent och rättvis arbetsledare. Det som mest bidrog till vantrivsel var främst lönen, arbetsförhållandena och organisationens politik och administration..

This paper examines the concept of heritage and which factors that determines how we evaluate and select what should be considered cultural heritage. This has been examined using a qualitative study involving interviews with seven people working within different parts of the cultural heritage sector. The purpose was to get a picture of what the public sector?s cultural heritage consists of and why so. The research question was: What gives the status of cultural heritage? This was examined by looking at further questions: What defines the concept of cultural heritage? Who decides what should be considered cultural heritage? What is significant when discussing cultural heritage? One conclusion is that the concept itself is experienced as diffuse but that the meaning can be summarized as the traces we leave behind to be preserved by future generations.

The purpose of this thesis was to gain an understanding of how Swedish political parties gain knowledge of their voters. The assumptions taken in the thesis were that political parties are using same methods as businesses do to find interesting segments. To attain insight into the purpose of the thesis, two research questions were formulated: how are Swedish political parties obtaining insights in who their potential voters are? With the second question, an attempt is made to answer how the very same parties are using their knowledge about their voter segments. To find answers to those questions, personal interviews were performed with seven political parties.

This thesis gives an introduction to securitization in general and the tranching of collateralized debt obligations in particular. It does this by using a firm-value model to simulate the underlying portfolio via monte-carlo simulations.The simulations in turn give a loss-distribution from which the various tranchings of the CDO?s are derived. To get an understanding of the influence of different variables involved in the tranching the simulations are repeated several times where the portfolio variables are changed to generate different tranchings. This to give a understanding of the influence different variables have on the tranching and consequently risks involved in CDO?s in particular but also general risks and problems of securitizations..

Syftet med studien är att genom en demokratiaspekt synliggöra de faktorer unga anser vara avgörande för att de skall uppleva ett reellt inflytande över beslut i frågor som rör dem. Det är en kvalitativ studie med ett explorativt tillvägagångssätt som bygger på gruppintervjuer med ungdomar, deltagande observationer och sekundära källor av statistiskt material och utredningar från Ungdomsstyrelsen. Dess teoretiska utgångspunkter tas i makt och demokrati genom framförallt Giddens, Baumann och Bourdieu. För analysen av det empiriska materialet har symbolisk interaktionism och Asplunds teorier om social responsivitet använts.Situationerna som behandlas omfattar det som ungdomarna själv har ansett viktiga men innehåller inte frågor som berör hem och familj.Den demokratiska aspekten är tydlig. Genom regeringens proposition om en speciell ungdomspolitik lyfter man fram vikten av tillgång till verklig makt och rätten till välfärd.

The purpose of this essay is to give the reader an insight in the subject of torture. This is done through both an historical perspective and by showing how torture methods are used today, even though torture is prohibited by law. Many refugees who come to Sweden today have survived torture, and the trauma can cause multiple illnesses related to the tragic memories. In addition to physical damage many also suffer from depression and post traumatic stress, due to the experiences of torture.Together with the Swedish Red Cross we designed a questionnaire which was sent to politicians and elected officials. In the questionnaire we asked questions concerning knowledge of injuries due to torture and what treatment options these people have in Sweden.
