Nötcenter Viken is a Swedish nucleus herd for dairy cattle. The goal for the farm is to select suitable mothers for the next top generation of bulls. Today the selection for udder health is based on a pedigree index and phenotype data. The pedigree index is based on the cow?s father and grandfathers breeding values.

This research paper is a thesaurus construction for the interdisciplinary subject of landscape planning. The personnel doing the indexing of documents at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences had earlier expressed a need for such a work within the fields of Landscape Architecture and Landscape Engineering. However our objective was not to create a complete thesaurus, but instead a basic construction which the personnel at the Agricultural University could expand upon. The actual construction is based upon ISO 2788-1986, Documentation Ð Guidelines for the establishment and development of monolingual thesauri, and Aitchison, Gilchrist and BawdenÕs Thesaurus Construction (1997). The line of enquiry taken has dealt with the problems relating to the collection, selection and control of indexing terms.

Den här studien utgör en policy-analys av ett urval av dessa propositioner och syftar till att se om den svenska biståndspolitiken har förändrats. Detta arbete redogör dessutom för de historiska sammanhang och teoretiska grunder som biståndspolitiken bygger på. Psykisk ohälsa är ett stort problem för individen bland annat eftersom det kan leda till sjukfrånvaro. Den psykiska ohälsan har även negativa konsekvenser på företagsnivå och samhällsnivå, på grund av de höga kostnaderna och den minskade produktionen på arbetsplatsen (Baumann, Muijen & Gaebel, 2010). Preventiva åtgärder mot psykisk ohälsa är en framgångsrik metod (WHO, 2004) och en förebyggande åtgärd som är av betydelse för psykisk hälsa är fysisk aktivitet (Hellenius & Kallings, 2010). Det finns flera studier som visar att det finns ett samband mellan fysisk aktivitet och psykiskt välbefinnande(Stephens,1988; Camacho, Roberts, Lazarus, Kaplan & Cohen, 1991). Dessa studier är dock baserade på internationellt material.

The aim of this master?s thesis is to obtain greater understanding of how children relate to the film medium and their experiences. This is obtained by listening to the children and observing their verbal and nonverbal communication in two focus group interviews. Children?s access to and selection of film are due to adult?s restrictions.

This bachelor thesis explores how librarians are portrayed in fiction literature. The aim is to see how the librarian and their work tasks are described. Our material consists of 12 fiction novels from the years 2000 to 2012 (with an exception of a book from 1998). We have used discourse analysis in order to examine the picture of the librarian.We have used three major questions: How is the librarian portrayed in our selected fiction literature from year 2000 until today (the beginning of 2013)? How are the librarians profession portrayed in our selected fiction literature? Does our selection of the fiction literature give a positive or negative image of the librarianand how can that affect the view of the profession?Our analysis resulted in the discourses the librarian and literature and the librarian and the library.

Den här studien undersöker med ett Kritisk diskursanalytiskt förhållningssätt ett urval av skilda ledareartiklars kommentarer av Europa parlamentsvalets resultat år 2004. Med ?kommentera? avses det, vilka diskurser de konstruerar ifråga till denna händelse. Min studie inriktar sig även på att försöka besvara om ledareartiklarna anser att parlamentsvalet var demokratiskt legitimt ur ett demokratiskt perspektiv när det var en minoritet av de svenska samt de europeiska medborgarna som valde att utnyttja sin rösträtt. Jag intresserar mig även för de svar/orsaker ledareartiklarna anger till varför ett så fåtal avväljarna använde dennes rösträtt..

This report is a documentation of the workflow and the result of a project carried out by twostudents from the Royal Institute of Technology in collaboration with a company. The report isstructured in a chronological order and describes the methods and systems developed in theworkflow. The report shows how the project evolved from a study phase to the various proposals onthe concept solutions.The project aims to develop a systematic way of bonding two different kind of cardboard under fiveminutes. By conducting a general study about glue and its different forms it was possible to obtain abroad knowledge, which helped to choose the right substances to later use in testing on the differentcardboard materials in question. Glues's survey resulted in a list of different substances that wererelevant to the project.

The purpose of this literature study was to describe the seasonal reproduction in sheep and the presence of genetic variation in fertility traits. Methods to induce oestrus are described and the possibilities to change the reproduction season through breeding are discussed. Sheep have a pronounced seasonality in their reproduction. Mating season starts in the fall and the lambs are born during the spring because this is the most beneficial time. The market request for lamb meat has increased and therefore it is desirable with ewes that could get pregnant all year round.

Syftet med denna studie är att beskriva vilka natursyner som förmedlas i barnfilmerna Happy Feet (2006) och Wall-e (2008). Detta för att undersöka om de kan användas inom utbildning för hållbar utveckling i förskolan. Det har utförts en ekokritisk studie av materialet med ett idé- och ideologikritiskt perspektiv. Denna studie har utförts i strävan efter att bidra med ny forskning för området utbildning för hållbar utveckling inom förskolan, då det är ett tunt utforskat område.Resultatet av studien är att den antropocentriska natursynen dominerat i båda filmerna, men att de samtidigt ifrågasätts mellan raderna. Slutsatsen av studien är att innehållet i filmerna går att använda som underlag för undervisning, till exempel för att kunna föra en diskussion i barngrupp om natursyner..
