The purpose of this study has been to get a deeper insight into how students reason about the textbook and teaching that goes beyond its content. This in order for the teacher to be able to consider and respond to these important attitudes already at the planning stages of such teaching situations. This approach will aid to help students overcome the distrust of things that are not in the textbook.The study shows that students have an attitude of overconfidence to the textbook's reliability. It is considered to be controlled in its content as well as being a reference on the extent of the knowledge content.The general approach to teaching that deviates from textbook structure is that it is welcomed as an interesting feature. However, a questioning attitude soon appears about whether the element will be included in any requirements for knowledge or tests.The following important conclusions can be drawn after this study was carried out:Very clearly communicate the purpose of all education that deviate from the textbook.Inform students about the textbook's deficiencies and the need for supplementing.Accept and respond to students' focus in that grades are the main driving force for the acquisition of knowledge in high school..

Development through professional supervision and in the encounter with clients is an essential part of the work. I also discuss what it means to be new in the field (a novice) in relation to being experienced (a master).

Syftet med studien är att undersöka om elevens medverkan i föreningsverksamheten inom idrott kan påverka motivationen för skolans arbete. För att få svar på syftet har studien använt sig av två olika metoder, kvalitativ och kvantitativ undersökning, i detta fall intervjuer och enkäter.

The interview material has been categorized into themes by means of coding. The result of the study is presented according to those themes.

This Masters thesis work describes a comparison between two different methods for estimation of the down channel (base station to mobile subscriber) in Wide-band Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA). The first estimation method, Optimal Feed-forward Channel Estimation (OFCE), is a conventional method that bases the estimates on data that is known to both sender and receiver, so called pilots. The second method, Decision Directed Channel Estimation (DDCE), is an elaboration of OFCE. It also uses user data for estimation. Simulations show that DDCE, in comparison to OFCE, does not attain an improvement in signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) for high bit error rates (BER). An improvement is only seen when the BER becomes much lower than what is common in real situations. In conclusion DDCE is complicated, involves many mathematical operations and gives insignificant improvement of SNR when BER takes common values. It is legitimate to question if it is possible to use the method in a real mobile phone system..

Background: Parents that loose a child in connection to labour are in great need of support.Health care provider treatment and support is of great importance to how the parents will experience something that is doomed from the beginning to be one of the most tragic events the parents will ever experience. For care givers to live up to this it is incredibly important that there are worked out guidelines to follow at these situations.Aim: To chart and describe Swedish maternity wards care program with reference to ?IUFD?.Method: All clinics in Sweden have been questioned regarding care program for handling of ?IUFD?. Care programs has been gathered, charted and described.Results: 87% (29 of 33) off the maternity wards has a plan for treatment and guidelines for ?IUFD?.

Detta arbete är en intervjustudie med lärare och funktionshindrade elever på högstadiet samt gymnasiet. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka om och i så fall hur lärarna anpassar sin undervisning till förmån för integration av elever med fysiska funktionshinder. Ett ytterligare syfte är att undersöka hur de fysiskt funktionshindrade eleverna upplever sin situation i klassen och hur väl de anser att dessa anpassningar, om de existerar, fungerar. Jag har personligen intervjuat lärare och funktionshindrade elever för att få höra deras personliga erfarenheter och åsikter i frågan. Detta för att få en så tydlig bild som möjligt av deras situation.

This essay examines the epideictic genre by using qualitative method to analyze acceptance speeches from the Swedish Grammy awards. These speeches and their speakers are often described as rhetorically mediocre and there seems to be a notion within the music community that an acceptance speech is personal and without deeper meaning. From a functionalistic perspective on genre, these speeches can be seen as working together with other genres that carry information about the winners. Why would skilled performers who know how to entertain an audience choose to repeat rhetorical mistakes? This essay uses different perspectives on rhetorical situation and genre as well as multimodal analysis of verbal- and nonverbal communication, to argue that these particular speeches in this particular situation come with their own set of expectations and values that the speakers have to acknowledge if they are to meet the epideictic purpose: To unite the audience around common values and create an enjoyable collective memory.

Rörelsehinder i undervisningen är ett fenomen som ställer vissa krav på en lärare i Idrott och hälsa, eftersom ämnet har en fysisk prägel. Faktum är att undervisningen ska anpassas till varje elevs förutsättningar och behov, men hur tänker lärarna kring detta?Syftet med examensarbetet är att undersökaidrottslärares åsikter kring undervisning med rörelsehindrade elever i grundskolan. För att få svar på frågeställningar kring detta intervjuades fem lärare med yrkeserfarenhet mellan 3-12 år. Resultatet av deras utsagor tillhandahåller hur de anser att man bör arbeta med rörelsehinder i undervisningen, samt vilka svårigheter och möjligheter de kan se.

My purpose in this essay has been to gain an understanding of why we treat children differently and analyse the underlying causes. The method of choice was to reflect on some significant events that occurred at my preschool and to use relevant literature as a basis for analysing these events. Society is constantly changing and my focus has been on what happens to the children at preschool if we are not sensitive to this development. There is a need to highlight the underlying social and human values, in order to ensure that children are treated on equal terms. As educators we need to understand the impact of our lack of legal knowledge for children in the development of their understanding of their rights and obligations in a democratic society.

Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva erfarenheter av förändringar i dagliga aktiviteter efter ett falltrauma som resulterat i en höftfraktur. Data samlades in via kvalitativa intervjuer med sex kvinnor i åldrarna 77 till 84 år. Analysen genomfördes sedan utifrån en innehållsanalys vilket resulterade i tre kategorier: ?Aktiviteter tillsammans med andra har minskat?, ? Behov av assistans för att kunna utföra aktiviteter? samt ? Aktiviteter möjliggörs genom anpassning? Resultatet visar att flertalet av informanternas dagliga aktiviteter har förändrats efter höftfrakturen. Informanternas erfarenheter avspeglar hur de idag utför färre aktiviteter tillsammans med andra vilket medfört att de är mer begränsade till att utföra aktiviteter i hemmet.

HIV/AIDS är en av de största epidemierna i modern tid. Sedan sjukdomen upptäcktes för 27 år sedan har den orsakat 25 miljoner människors död. Personer med kunskap om HIV-smittvägar, preventiva åtgärder samt utvecklad självförmåga har ofta högre medvetenhet om risker. Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva sjuksköterskans insatser för att förändra individers medvetenhet om smittspridning av HIV/AIDS. Metoden som användes var en litteraturstudie.

I denna uppsats undersöks översättning av vous-tilltal i sex svenska undertextningar av franska filmer. Även översättning av titlarna Mademoiselle, Monsieur och Madame undersöks, eftersom dessa titlar förekommer i samband med vous-tilltalet. Resultaten visar att källspråkstrogenhet är den vanligaste övergripande strategin i materialet när det gäller vous-tilltalets pronomenformer, men att strategin målspråks-anpassning även förekommer. Titlar som Madame undertextas med en övergripande källspråkstrogen strategi i alla materialets filmer. Den målspråksanpassade strategin är vanligare i materialets dokumentärer än i fiktionsfilmerna.
