This Masters thesis work describes a comparison between two different methods for estimation of the down channel (base station to mobile subscriber) in Wide-band Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA). The first estimation method, Optimal Feed-forward Channel Estimation (OFCE), is a conventional method that bases the estimates on data that is known to both sender and receiver, so called pilots. The second method, Decision Directed Channel Estimation (DDCE), is an elaboration of OFCE. It also uses user data for estimation. Simulations show that DDCE, in comparison to OFCE, does not attain an improvement in signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) for high bit error rates (BER).

Bakgrund och problemDet finns två drivande faktorer som formar grunden för hur multinationella företag agerar vad avser human resource management. Den ena är det tryck som finns att upprätthålla en intern konsistens och det andra är en yttre påverkan från den lokala miljön där företaget verkar. Dagens utveckling har lett till ett behov hos företag att vara flexibla på alla nivåer. Om vi ser till företagens humankapital så finns ett ökat behov inom området att sprida den kunskap som finns till alla nivåer och vidare till de dotterbolag som agerar på den globala marknaden. Detta faktum har medfört ett ökat behov att kunna omplacera personal till olika underavdelningar och även till de dotterbolag som verkar på denna marknad vilket i sin tur medfört ett ökat krav på flexibilitet och anpassningsförmåga hos den enskilda anställde.

The purpose of this study is to show how the modern society, with demands, expectations and the time constraints of adults, affects children and the everyday life at the preschool. Our intention is also to show the importance of identify stress symptoms of the children.        The study is of qualitative empirical kind and is based on a questionnaire to 19 parents of preschool children at the age of three to five years old. Interviews are made with four preschool teachers on one preschool. An observation of children in possible stressful situations is made during three days each at two preschools.     The results show that the modern society affects children and can be stressful. It also affects the everyday life at the preschool.

Den här rapporten, som är en del av kursen TDDD83 Kandidatprojekt datateknik vid Linköpings Tekniska Högskola, beskriver utvecklandet av ett e-handelssystem för den fiktiva t-shirtbutiken Utique. Den berör dels tekniska aspekter, men även de erfarenheter och lärdomar de tre gruppmedlemmarna fått under projektets gång. För att genomföra projektet användes programmeringsspråken Html, Css, Php, Mysql och Javascript samt ramverken och biblioteken Bootstrap, Cakephp och Jquery. Under projektets gång användes, efter anpassning till gruppstorleken, den agila utvecklingsmetoden Scrum, vilket beskrivs kortfattat i rapporten. Rapporten innefattar även en marknadsföringsplan för Utique där en konkurrensanalys genomförts och ämnena marknadssegmentering, positionering och differentiering berörts.

This study highlights how pre-school teachers in a monocultural Swedish district looks at the concept of multiculturalism and what multiculturalism and /or intercultural approaches means in their pre-schools. The study takes its starting point in Johannes Lunneblads thesis "Förskolan och mångfalden" (2006) and Lpfö-98 (2006). The present study is a qualitative study in the form of interviews and the study have an intercultural and intentional perspective. The study shows that preschool teachers in the area perceive multicultural work as a compensatory education for children with non-European background. An analysis of the interviews on a deeper level shows that there is a broader understanding of multiculturalism that includes the class, sexuality and everyone of the children's "home culture?.

This essay is aimed at exploring how governments inclination to adhere to international human rights law develops in the wake of interstate conflicts. It examines how human rights in Eritrea and Ethiopia has developed after the war in 1998-2000 by examining the historical background to the war, and reviewing country reports from United States State Department and Amnesty International between 2001-2005.The result of the paper shows that Eritrea's adherence to human rights suffered setbacks, and that some of these happened due to the aftermath of the war. Ethiopia also had some lesser setback primarily due to internal turmoil. The essay concludes that states adherence to human rights in postconflict situations depend on if the war severely weakened the state, in which case the state becomes more repressive in order to cling to power..

The main purpose of this essay is to examine, in what way the paintings by Karin Broosand Markus Åkesson are images of autentic situations and furthermore in what way themediespecific essence is performed photografically. Questions occuring: 1) How are thecreations of reality shaped in the two chosen photorealistical paintings? 2) In what waycan you distinguish the iconicity and indexicality in the paintings Den vita klänningenand The Passage? 3) How does the photografic presence occur in the paintings andfuthermore how can you distinguish the mentioned parts above according to thepaintings? The theoretical standpoint is based upon Charles Sanders Peirces ideasconcerning iconicity and indexicality. The methods used are based on thoughtspresented by Andrew Benjamin and Mieke Bal. The signs of iconicity and indexicalitycan be studied in various ways in the two paintings, depending on how abstract andobvious different parts occur in the paintings.

Detta arbete syftar till att undersöka vad bilder, gestaltande religiösa berättelser, kanförmedla om den religiösa kontext där de har sitt ursprung. Hur väl dessa bilder kantjäna som hjälpmedel till att förklara centrala aspekter av respektive religion iundervisningssammanhang är även en del som kommer att undersökas. Det aktuellabildmaterialet består av två bilder hämtade ur den kristna och den buddhistiskabildtraditionen. För att behandla aktuella bilder används en kvalitativ observationsmetodi form av en egen bildanalys-anpassning som inkluderar delar av både den ikonologiskaoch semiotiska analystraditionen. Resultatet av dessa analyser visar att den aktuellatypen av bilder kan, under gynnsamma omständigheter, förmedla information om sinreligiösa kontext och på sätt även tjäna som ett didaktiskt hjälpmedel..

Purpose: The purpose of the study is to find out what mathematical content primary school children encounter in their free options at school.Through observation, the study defines mathematical areas that primary school students encounter in their free options at school. We want the study to show the reader the mathematics that students continuously meet without associating it with regular mathematics as taught in school.A number of mathematical areas have been defined in the analysis of the observations. These areas have subsequently been discussed more thoroughly. Finally, the areas have been arranged in a grid system to clarify the results.In our study, we have discovered that mathematics exists in all the observed situations the students participated in.We believe that observation as a method can give teachers a tool for helping students associate practical actions during their free options with the more theoretical aspects of formal teaching of mathematics. ADHD has for a long time been perceived as something that affects children and grows away with time. American psychiatric association state that ADHD may appear differently with adolescences and adults than with children. That could lead to misunderstandings and exclusion by adults and adolescences with ADHD at work life amongst other situations. This report investigates that exclusion and tries to find what information that needs to reach certain target groups to prevent it from happen.The works focus is text design, a part of information design, and looks firstly at the factors that make good information material. Then I investigate if there is a need for more information about ADHD within working life and if so what it would contain.

Humor är en viktig del av vår vardag och har stor betydelse för människans välbefinnande. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva sjuksköterskors upplevelser av humorns betydelse i omvårdnadsarbete. Studien baserades på 10 internationellt publicerade vetenskapliga artiklar från år 1994 till år 2005. Artiklarna analyserades med en kvalitativ innehållsanalys med manifest ansats. Analysen resulterade i fyra kategorier: Humor kräver anpassning: Humor skapar gemenskap, underlättar kommunikation och helhetstänkande: Humor lindrar ängslan, underlättar svåra situationer och förmedlar kärlek: Att skratta tillsammans med kollegor stärker atmosfären.
