My intention with this essay has been to examine how men?s tears are portrayed in three chosen films and what their crying does to their masculinity. In my analysis I have used the concept of hegemonic masculinity. I have worked from the assumption that in our culture men?s crying is problematic in some sense.

The purpose of this review was to investigate in scientific literature what impact clinical supervision actually contains from the perspective of the working conditions for nursingstaff. Goodman formed the working process in our review and is based on a systematic scrutiny and analysis of ten scientific articles inspired of evidencebased method. Willman & Stoltz and Pearson's FAME scale was used sifting through evidence of the articles.The result has been divided thematic in professional development, personal development, development of knowledge, communicationskills, feeling of fellowship, working environment and the patientinteraction. The conclusion of the evidens grading (A-D), in the quantitative results, showed no evidens (D). The qualitative articles was graded (1-5) through the concepts Feasibility, Appropriatness, Meaningfulness and Effectiveness.

The main focus of this essay is to analyze whether strict employment protection legislation has a negative effect on the labour market possibilities for youth in the EU or not. To empirically examine the labour market possibilities for youth, data for unemployment rates and incidence of temporary jobs are used. By doing simple correlations between the different labour market characteristics and OECD?s employment protection legislation index the effect of the latter is tested. The result is that a tendency for youth unemployment and frequency of youth with temporary employment to be higher when employment protection legislation is strict can be seen.

In Elles, all main characters are famous women emerging from the music, television and fashion industries. The women in Café are known for similar professions.

AbstractAim: this paper is a report of a concept analysis of forgiveness and its practice within the social work area. Background: worldwide interest in and funding for forgiveness research has brought about a body of knowledge from many disciplines that could be clinically useful to social work. At this time forgiveness interventions are used in social work in other countries, primary in the USA. The social workers in the Scandinavian countries need to focus on this important area of inquiry. Method: forgiveness was explored from a philosophical perspective and from forgiveness interventions from a variety of areas suitable for social work.

The purpose of this study is to examine the phenomenon ?Living library?, where people are lent out instead of books. First it is looked into what the Living library means to the person who is borrowing a living book and what it means to the living book itself. Than the Living library is put in a public library context. This is done through a case study of the city library of Helsingborg and the city library of Malmö.

A lot of mine waste rock and tailings arise from all mining processes and have to be stored in an appropriate way. Tailings are deposited in impoundments retained by tailings dams. The objective of tailings dams is to retain the slurry from the mining process and in that way prevent spill into the surroundings that might be harmful for the environment. Tailings dams are often constructed as staged embankments so that construction costs and demand of materials are spread more evenly over the period of deposition.The objective of this thesis has been to compile information about and evaluate events at Swedish tailings dams and also to develop a collective database for all Swedish mining companies for all tailings dams and all events that occur at tailings dams.Information about 60 events at Swedish tailings dams has been gathered and evaluated. The evaluation has been performed by comparison between and analysis of individual parameters and also by use of a multivariate statistical method called PLS.

The earlier studies of how gender is visually constructed in lifestyle magazines have mainly been done on photographs. But, photographs are only one part of the entire magazine Therefor3, we saw the importance in examining one of the other big parts, typography.We have been studying if gender can be constructed in lifestyle magazines through the shape and color of typography and the color context. It is important to point out that we have not been studying the written word but only the shape and color of the typography.The study has been conducted through a qualitative content analysis with a comparative process of the selected magazines. The analysis began with a semiotic analysis of selected parts of the magazines. The result was then analyzed with a feminist theoretical approach.The result of the study shows that gender can be constructed through typography in a number of different ways.

Denna uppsats handlar om en komparativ studie om hur soldater upplevde krig, med fokus påderas egna berättelser, det vill säga hur soldaterna uppfattade sin situation ur ett mycketpersonligt perspektiv. Objekten i denna studie är de amerikanska soldaterna som frivilligtsökte sig till kriget i Vietnam samt de frivilliga svenska soldaterna som under de förstamissionerna åkte till det pågående kriget i Bosnien. Syftet med uppsatsen är därmed attundersöka om de amerikanska och de svenska soldaterna hade liknande eller skildauppfattningar om de svårigheter som förekom genom att verka i en miljö som präglades avdöd, lidande och att hamna i plötsliga, livshotande situationer. Resultaten av undersökningenvisar, trots de olika typerna av konflikter, att det förekom skillnader och även likheter i deberättelser som skildrar synen på mod, rädsla, de inblandade parterna med mera.Undersökningen utgår från gjord forskning av de amerikanska soldaternas brevkorrespondens,vilket personligt och ingående skildrar deras situation. This essay focuses on men?s construction of feminism and gender and views on equality between the sexes. The purpose of the essay is met through interviews with eight men on their thoughts and constructions of these issues. The answers from the interviewed men were analysed with a radical feminist and gender perspective approach. Det finns dock ingenting som visar på vilket sätt som är mest lämpligt när det gäller att framföra en rättvisande bild av en verksamhets ekonomiska situation till dess intressenter. Om en situation är komplex vilket kännetecknas av svårigheter att få en helhetsbild av situationen och osäkerhet råder då situationen är svårhanterlig och riktlinjer, rekommendationer samt praxis saknas kan en rättvisande bild bli svårt att förmedla. Stadsomvandlingen av Kiruna är en komplex situation då främst för att det i Sverige aldrig hanterats en liknande situation men också på grund av att situationen bland annat berör många olika områden. En fallstudie där syfte är att beskriva och analysera utmaningarna inom kommunal redovisning i komplexa situationer genomfördes.

The individual educational plan (IEP) is a document used in Swedish schools. The purpose of the document is to help and support students who have difficulties in their schoolwork in various ways. In my experience, the student does not always understand the importance of establishing an IEP as a support and help at school. In this study I try to understand the students? experience of its relevance and purpose and the impact which can be achieved by an IEP.

The aim of this study is through a policy analysis to illuminate the decisions that the EU has taken to respond to the terrorist attacks in the US, Madrid and London and through this analysis try to explain the problem of each decision and find out if these decisions might risk the individual rights of the European Union?s citizens.In order to reach this purpose the following questions are to be answered: In what way has the EU?s decision-making process, regarding its fight on terrorism, been affected by the terrorist attacks in Madrid and London? What consequences may the EU?s decisions against terrorism have on the individual rights?The method that has been used is qualitative studies of literature and the main material is overarching policy documents from the EU.The conclusions are that the bombings in Madrid and London have increased the speed of the decision-making process and more areas have been included in the union?s fight against terrorism. If individual rights are at risk by the union?s decisions there are reasons to be concerned. But my conclusion is that the European Union has to have strong and effective instruments to answer to the threat of terrorism..

AbstractThis paper is a comparative study of the final reports of the Norwegian and Danish power studies performed in 2003. While the Danish study found that democracy is thriving, the conclusion of the Norwegian power study was that democracy is in a crisis. The purpose of this paper is to find explanations to why the studies in two Nordic countries arrived at such different results.Methodologically, the paper consists of an ideological text analysis and critical analyses of the discourse. In order to study how the results of the power studies can differ so considerably, the following aspects have been surveyed; 1) external contexts (government inquiries); 2) work process (the researchers? background, role and co-operation); 3) the problem areas and themes studied; and 4) power perspectives.
