This essay explores how artwork in the public space can be analysed, conceptualized and described by bringing attention to Site. Through an analysis of artworks in the yearly art exhibition of Fittja Open 2011, the essay draws attention to Site-specific art and structures of power. The principal aim is to present not only the exhibition of Fittja Open 2011 but also other artwork in the public sphere in Fittja, a suburb to Stockholm. From this point of departure other interests evolve that concerns the "image" of Fittja. The analysis, based on research in art history, architecture, ethnology and philosophy as well as qualitative interviews, also focuses on understanding the role of Site and the relations between art practice, institutions and Site. The result shows that there are problems with a ruptured interface between the artwork and Site.

A comparison of methods to assess site index in young Norway spruce stands

This study investigates whether the Site index curve method (SICM) and the growth intercept method (GIM) can be used for Site index predictions in younger Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) stands than recommended by current guidelines. For SICM it was thus investigated whether the method could be used for stands younger than ten years, and for GIM it was tested whether a starting point for the intercept measurements could be used below the recommended 2.5 meter. This was tested based on measurements taken from experimental stands in Tönnersjöheden Research Forest. For GIM it was found that the method can only be used when the TH-trees of a stand have five complete intercepts above 2.5 meters. For the method to be applicable beyond this, it will be necessary to adapt the underlying equations, perhaps following the Canadian example where a 1.3 meter intercept start is used. In conclusion it is not currently possible to apply the approach beyond the current recommendations. For SICM, SI predictions are accurate for the study area already form year three.

Dygnsvariation av metanemission från en anlagd våtmark

The aim of the study was to investigate if methane emission in a constructed wetland changed in a diurnal pattern correlating to temperature, humidity or light conditions. The gas measurements were carried out with a static chamber technique. The wetland (in Nykvarn outside of Linköping, Sweden) takes care of wastewater to reduce the nitrogen loads. Measurements were carried out at three different occasions in the summer of 1998 on two Sites in the wetland. One Site was close to the inflow, inhabited by Lemnaceae, and another Site was located further downstream inhabited by the emergent macrophyte Typha latifolia.

Flyhov p? Kinnekulle. Flyhov L1962:5485, Ra?-nummer Husaby 70:1

The aim of this essay is to contribute to a better understanding of the prehistoric Site Flyhov in the province of V?sterg?tland, Sweden and its immediate surroundings from an archaeological perspective. The Site contains material artistic and ritual expressions from different prehistoric periods, and its long use-history (from the Stone Age until today) shows that the Site, and its remains, has attracted the interest from people in prehistory, in modern times, as well as today. With a point of departure in perspectives derived from hermeneutics and phenomenology the essay examines the Site?s prehistoric remains, the use of, and the interest directed towards, the Site and its remains during different time- and use-horizons and how these horizons have been affected and intertwined with each other, in a manner where earlier material expressions have affected people and their new expressions.

This paper concerns the treatment of people at execution places and it is focusing on Gotland and the execution place called Galgberget. The material in the paper comes from Galgberget and a gallow in Denmark called Slots Bjergby. Together with this the laws of Gotland during the medieval and later periods are discussed and also how the archaeological material (especially the buttons) found on the excavation Site can help to understand the people buried on the gallow Site. The result of the analysis shows that the laws and the material found on the excavation Site often tells different things. The punishments are often softer then what the law says.

Kommunikationslösningar i molnet : Examensarbete angående olika nätverkslösningar i WAN

Site fidelity of a migratory species towards its annual range

Site fidelity, the behaviour of animals to return to areas where they have been before is a common trait in many species. The Scandinavian moose is known to show fidelity to its range, but to what extent, is little known. The landscape in Sweden changes in a predictable and unpredictable way and hence gives the opportunity to test the existence of fidelity. I used the kernel Brownian bridge method to estimate the home ranges of individual moose over consecutive years and estimated the overlap at the home range level. I also used Euclidian distance to look on calving Site fidelity.

The primary ambition of this degree thesis is to create a representative outdoor environment that surrounds Malmö Konsthall (Malmö art center) which reflects the amazing inside of the artcenter. During this work it has become more and more obvious that Magistratsparken, which is situated right next to the artcenter, ought to be incorporated into this project. This thesis aims to examine the possibilities of implementing temporary outdoor artshows on this Site. First; is there any interest in exhibiting art at this Site? And secondly, if that is the case, what are the spatial needs and how can you prepare the place for future exhibitions and still keep its flexibility for different kinds of art forms to comfortably perform at this Site?.

This report is about how to decide which method is the most suitable as floor covering at projectKlammerdamm in the centre of Halmstad. The covering has to be fire resistant and soundproof inorder to protect the wood structure and stop noise from traveling between apartments. There aretwo possibilities either traditional gypsum board or gypsum-based self leveling underlayment. The roads around the construction Site are narrow. A regular twenty-five meter long truck has nopossibility to reach the Site. The construction Site is small and the storage area is limited.

Stopover duration and field site selection by whooper swan (Cygnus cygnus) at Lake Tysslingen, Sweden

The aim of this study was to increase the knowledge about whooper swan (Cygnus cygnus) ecology to enhance the ability to predict and also to prevent the crop damage they cause. The largest proportion of damage in Sweden has been reported at stopover Sites during spring migration in February, March and April. Therefore, this study focused on an important stopover Site, Lake Tysslingen, situated in south-central Sweden. Specifically, the relation between the duration and period migrating swans stage at the stopover Site and mean temperature (measured at three different weather stations) for the years 2001-2010 was studied. Furthermore, the swans´ selection for certain fields in relation to field type, distance to roosting Site, a supplemental feeding Site and forest edge within agricultural land surrounding the lake was analyzed.

Vädrets påverkan på byggarbetsplatsen

This exam report contains studies about how the weather affects the construction Site from a planning and productivity perspective. In 1960?s the contractors started to build during the winter, since then the demands to obtain a good construction has been higher on both the contractor and then promoter. In this report you will see how the different actors at the construction Site handle the weather problems. By several interviews of the actors at the construction Site there have been opinions about the weather situation which has been collected. To get a wide perspective of the problem, field studies from four different construction Sites been made.Weather statistics over Halmstad is a mayor part of this report.

Structure and tree diversity of lowland limestone forest on Seram Island, Indonesia

There have previously been very few studies of forests on Seram Island in the Eastern Indonesian archipelago and none before on lowland limestone primary forests. The COLUPSIA project on collaborative land use planning has therefore chosen Seram as one of two project Sites. The objective of the COLUPSIA project is to establish collaborative and equitable land use planning. In order to achieve its objective the COLUPSIA project aims to improve understanding of traditional resource management and how it interacts with governmental systems, as well as enhancing knowledge about tropical landscapes and ecosystem services. The aim of this study was to contribute to the COLUPSIA project through describing lowland limestone forest on Seram Island in respect to (1) forest structure, (2) tree species richness and (3) tree species composition. We set up 5 plots, each of 0.2 ha, at one Site, Mawalai, and collected data on tree variables (tree diameter ?10 cm) as well as for some other life forms and environmental data.

Taggad!

This study investigates how tagging is being used in a new way when members of a Swedish dating Site get to tag themselves in an act of self-presentation with the aim of meeting new people. In the study seven members of the dating Site Mazily were interviewed about their self-presentation, tagging and identity formation there. The questions concerned how they formed their own tags, but also how they interpret and use other members' tags in their search for a potential partner.I have been using queer theories for this study, in order to find out what kind of norms and structures that lie behind and affect the members' behaviour on the webSite. My study finds that the interviewed members to a high degree reflect about both their own and other members tagging and self-presentations. Although they spend quite some time trying to analyse other people on the webSite they have a great sense of understanding that a person may give two very different impressions on the Site and offline.
