The purpose of this thesis is to assist the Swedish energy company NIBE Energy Systems in their studies of adaptive regulation applicable to electrical water heaters. Due to coming energy classifications of these appliances in the European Union, NIBE Energy Systems needs to use adaptive regulation, called Smart Control, to keep their products in the best possible energy class and remain competitive to the market. By using this Smart Control regulation a 2-3 % improve-ment of efficiency can be credited the system. This is a small number, but heavily needed, since the energy classes are based on the idea that the European Union is provided with electricity from coal condensate power resulting in a 40 % maximum efficiency. Furthermore, doing noth-ing will result in some water heaters not being approved to use on the market from 2015 due to low efficiency.

A new code for corporate governance was introduced for major companies in Sweden in July 2005. This act is to some degree a follower to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act that was introduced in the U.S.A. after the Enron scandal. The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the effect on the controller in response to the introduction of this new act. Three controllers in major Swedish companies was interviewed and asked if and how they had been affected by this new act.

Today's unsustainable resource use is influenced by many factors. One key factor isproduction methods and patterns. Trough change of production patterns enterprises can bepart of the solution to a more sustainable society. This case study has analyzed environmentalperformance of the printer company Edita Västra Aros Ltd (EVA), who has gained awards forits environmental work, and what driving forces they have had during this work. The survey isbased on a qualitative method and the collected data consists of documents and staffinterviews, which have been analyzed with content analysis.

Den kvantitativa delen bestod av empiri i form av hållbarhetsrapporter inhämtade från undersökningsobjekten.

Due to the highly competitive and busy marketplace of today, companies are forced to take unforeseen measures in defending and developing their brands. Key elements like opinion leadership and lifestyle marketing are commonplace and aim to deliver values that are more difficult to define compared to quality, price, looks and usability. This paper aims to develop what should be considered most fundamental to all commercial branding. By investigating the ideologies that are the core of many successful companies, we hope to clarify the importance of communicating these ideologies. The topic is examined by method of quantitative analysis and the main purpose is to determine; what do the companies think of their ideologies, and how do their consumers recieve them? A secondary purpose is also to investigate whether different kinds of consumers recieve the ideologies in different ways..

Today, it is prescribed by law that authorities should cooperate, especially around vulnerable children. There is a need in Sweden of research about cooperation and the problems that can occur. Hence, this study seeks to examine which structural organizational conditions that affect cooperation in a few consultation groups around violence and sexual abuse against children in Kronobergs län. Another aim is to see which meaning these conditions have for a functioning cooperation. Eight interviews have been done to investigate how different actors felt about cooperation, in the consultation groups.

Som ett resultat av ekonomiska skandaler, såsom Enron och Worldcom, där man har konstaterat att bristen på den interna kontrollen har varit orsaken, stiftades lagen Sarbanes-Oxley Act som gäller för amerikanska börsnoterade företag. Denna lag är till följd av att ägarna ställer högre krav på Corporate Governance (bolagsstyrning) i de nordamerikanska börsnoterade företagen. Detta leder till ett ökat skydd för finansiärerna eftersom i dagens komplexa bolag är ägandet och styrningen till stor del åtskilda. Lagen har lett till att internrevisionen har fått en allt starkare roll i att stödja ledningens arbete med att dokumentera och följa upp den interna kontrollen. The purpose of this masters thesis is to study two subject gate-ways within the field of Swedish higher education and academic research, concerning structuring and selection of Internet resources to facilitate information retrieval for their target groups, and also to study two co-operation projects in the same field, one national and one European, to see how the co-operation is being carried through and how the gateways in the projects can serve from a wider perspective. The gateways, AGORA and NOVAGate, are being studied mainly by their Web sites and two e-mail interviews with persons responsible for the gateways. Facts about the national project are principally based on an interview with BIBSAM. The European Renardus is being studied out of articles and information on the Web site. From the results of the study it is being clear that the purpose of the gateways is to make a quality-selection of information accessible via the Internet and thereby facilitate for their target groups to find usable information.

En ökad efterfrågan på biogas har lett till att matavfallsinsamlingen i Sverige ökar, då detta är en god råvara för produktion av biogas. Det finns flera olika insamlingssystem att välja bland, alla med sina för- respektive nackdelar. Beroende på vilket insamlingssystem som implementeras, får detta konsekvenser för hur renhållningsarbetarnas arbetsmiljö blir. Vad renhållningsarbetarna själva anser vara viktiga aspekter för en god arbetsmiljö samt hur dessa aspekter påverkas av de olika insamlingssystemen har hittills varit okänt. Genom systemanalys innehållandes fallstudier, Corporate Social Responsibility-analys (CSR) och skapandet av Casual Loop Diagrams (CLD) har problematiken undersökts i detta arbete.

Consumers don´t buy products, they buy brands. To create a succesful brand, you need a clear identity,and it will be strengthened by for instance a graphic profile. This project includes a theoretical partabout corporate identity and graphic profiling, and a description of the work with the graphic profile ofEM-loppet. The aim with this project is to strengthen the identity of EM-loppet, by making a clear andunified profile. The project has been accomplished by studying literature, searching information on theInternet and via personal contacts.

The aim of this thesis was to study elderly people?s experiences of and approach to their usage of home care services with tax deduction. The aim was also to describe how elderly people reason about their underlying motives of using home care service with tax deduction. The study is based on six qualitative interviews with people between the ages of 65 and 80, living in Nacka, Sweden. This thesis is a collaboration with Stiftelsen Stockholms la?ns A?ldrecentrum/ Stockholm Gerontology Center and part of their follow up study concerning simplified administration for elderly people applying for home care services in Nacka.

Denna rapport är resultatet av mitt examensarbete som utfördes på uppdrag av GKN. Syftet med arbetet är att utvärdera manualverken som berör RM12-motorn och i en teknisk rapport beskriva hur manualerna upplevs av den tekniska personalen på Sveriges flygflottiljer. Efterlevs de givna instruktionerna som avsett eller krävs det uppdateringar och/eller förtydligande av manualverken? Arbetet är främst inriktat mot de manualer som berör efterbrännkammarmodulen.Arbetet omfattar studier på flygflottiljerna F7 samt F17. Utvärderingens undersökningsarbete utfördes i form av enkätundersökningar, Semistrukturerade intervjuer/samtal samt observationer av det dagliga arbetet.Det är av stor vikt att teknisk personal följer motormanualerna som avsett, att inspektioner utförs enligt föreskrifterna samt att de angivna skadetoleranserna tas på allvar.
