Since 1 January 2010 it is a requirement to use the European standards, Eurocodes, in Sweden when constructing bridges. One chapter that has caused an extra amount of problems for the engineers is the one about fatigue analysis, which resulted in us doing this thesis.To do this we had to read all of the Eurocodes that direct, or indirect deals with fatigue and calculating of such. We have read the background documents for the Eurocodes and master?s thesis in the subject. We also studied the calculations of bridges constructed by different construction firms.We have chosen to limit the thesis to discuss only road bridges made of concrete due to the lack of method for verification of concrete in the national appendix.

Syftet med uppsatsen var att behandla förhållandet mellan inhyrda konsulter och ordinarie personal. Förhållandet avsåg att mäta skillnaderna mellan dessa två anställningsformer i förtroende för de inhyrda. Målet var sedan att se om förtroendet kunde förklaras med hjälp utav upplevelsen av tillhörighet eller upplevelsen av hot. Undersökningen utfördes med en kvantitativ ansats och resultatet togs fram med hjälp av SPSS, genom en linjär regression som gjordes på sekundärdata gjord av en samling forskare på Mittuniversitetets samhällsinstitution. Urvalet bestod av 137 svarande på en enkät som skickats till sammanlagt 237 personer, vilket gav en svarsfrekvens på 50,2%.

Den svenska bostadsmarknaden har under en längre tid varit ett hett diskussionsämne i media. Regelbundet beskrivs den svenska bostadsmarknaden som övervärderad. Ovissheten kring var marknaden befinner sig värderingsmässigt, väcker intresse att undersöka hur en bostadsrätts olika egenskaper påverkar dess värde, alltså vad individer är beredda att betala för i en bostadsrätt.?Hur mycket är konsumenten villig att betala för olika egenskaper hos en bostadsrätt, så som: boarea, våningsplan, hiss och antal rum??I studien utförs en empirisk tvärsnittsanalys, med observationer insamlade från och med första augusti till och med sista oktober 2014. Bostadsrätterna som är inkluderade i studien är geografiskt belägna i Stockholms innerstad (Kungsholmen, Norrmalm, Södermalm, Vasastan samt Östermalm).

The aim with this report is to formulate a strategic method to optimize selection processes of DNA-samples from a faeces inventory to identify as many individuals in as few analyzes as possible, and by that keep down the costs of brown bear management. Brown bear management in Sweden founds today on results from faeces inventory and is substantially led by the county administration boards. Data from the years of 2004 and 2009´s inventories in Västerbotten was used to test and evaluate different methods in selection processes of which faeces that should be sampled. Comparison were made between making selection by chance, by spatial distribution and by calculating variations in logistic regressions coefficient b, in other words bear density and probability in finding same individual in several faeces. We can show making selection by chance is the most uncertain method.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att se hur den svenska lagstiftningen skulle kunna förändras för att öka investeringarna på PE-marknaden. I uppsatsen undersöks om det föreligger en statistisk signifikans genom linjär regression hos ett antal lagregler och går kvalitativt igenom den befintliga svenska lagstiftningen för att finna orsaksvariabler och deras påverkan. Det teoretiska perspektivet utgår ifrån LaPorta et.al. Law & Finance-studier samt EVCA:s årliga rapporter gällande den europeiska private equity-marknaden. Resultaten påvisar att de legala frågorna inverkar på PE-marknadens storlek.

This master thesis is made of two parts. The first part concerns the method and results ofdesigning a motion control system for a piece of research-equipment called BIRGIT. Theequipment is made to be used for research on eyemovements. In the second part, a computermodel of a part of the balance organ in the inner-ear is developed. The work has been done atthe Bernadotte laboratory at S:t Erik Eye Hospital.The equipment the control system is made for is a so-called rotationchair.

The purpose of this study is to examine some factors that make a human grouse hunter to prolong and increase its hunting effort. The theory of optimal foraging is used for explaining their behavior.The data of this study is collected from a web-based inquiry from 2007 answered by grouse hunters in Sweden. The method that has been used is mainly bivariate statistics and logistic regression analysis.Key findings shows that an experienced grouse hunter has more than 5 times the chance of prolonging hunting effort when grouse density is high, compared to a beginner grouse hunter. On the same time experienced grouse hunters also stop hunting in advance when grouse density is low to a larger extent than inexperienced hunters. Other factors of importance for prolonging the hunting effort for a day are age and the travel distance to the hunting area.

Kvicksilver är ett av de farligaste miljögifter vi känner till. Regeringen har därför arbetat fram ett förslag till förbud mot kvicksilver som kemikaliereagens från år 2004. Detta förbud innebär att många laboratorier måste byta analysmetoder. Vid analys av CODCr används kvicksilversulfat för att minska interferens från klorid. Bravikens pappersbruk använder en CODCr-metod som innehåller kvicksilver.

Earlier research has shown that young and adult citizens in Europe participate in politics in different ways. While adult citizens participate in more traditional ways, non-traditional ways are more frequent among younger citizens. Moreover, issue-based participation increases when Europeans turn away from mainstream politics. Citizens in the European Union EU-15 between 15-24 ages are likely to be ?critical? citizens of a working democracy compared to people in older ages (Sloam, 2016).

ABSTRACTIn an intermediate section at a large university hospital are patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) cared for. There are international, national and local guidelines how nutrition therapy should be implemented and how much energy each patient should be given when hospitalized. The purpose of this study was to examine the documentation and actions on nutrition in patients with SAH and to see if guidelines on nutrition were followed. The study was a quantitative, retrospective record review that was analyzed statistically and descriptive. 26 patients were included.

A study has been conducted on how organizations in Sweden administer costs of facilities management services internally. There are three main theoretical methods for administering costs. In the first method, costs are maintained on a central level; in the second method, costs are allocated and in the third method, internal transfer pricing is used. The aim of the study is to identify which methods are applied in practice, to evaluate whether the methods fulfill their intended purposes and to study the relationship between the methods used and the cost level of facilites management services. In practice, a large diversity of methods are used for facilities management costs.

Syfte Syftet med föreliggande studie var att studera korrelationen mellan EMG-respons och effektutveckling i samband med genomförande av knäböj.MetodFyra manliga testpersoner deltog genom att utföra både knäböj 90° och djupa knäböj i en Smith-maskin som är ansluten till en Linear Encoder som möjliggör beräkning av effektutveckling. Samtidigt registrerades elektromyografisk aktivitet i musklerna Vastus lateralis, Hamstrings och Gluteus maximus. De utförde knäböj på olika relativa belastningsnivåer; 20, 40, 60, 80, 100% av 1RM.ResultatResultaten visade inte en stark korrelation mellan medel-EMG och power, inte heller mellan medel-EMG och hastighet, dock indikerade resultaten mellan de sistnämnda en tendens till att en lägre EMG aktivitet uppstod vid de högre hastigheterna. En starkare korrelation kunde antydas mellan medel-EMG och belastning/kraft. Ingen tydlig skillnad mellan musklerna påträffades i förhållande till resultaten ovan.

Metso Paper offers a front-running range of solutions and services for the pulp and paper industry. At the baling unit, design solutions are developed for manufacturing and handling of pulp bales. The machines are continuously developed to satisfy customer needs. One big step in the development of the baling line was to remove hydraulics from the machines and replace it with electrical motors and pneumatics. This was not done on the folding machine which is still driven by mainly hydraulics.

I denna rapport undersöktes S&P 500 Energy Index genom multipel regressionsanalys. Modellerframställdes genom regression och baserades på data hämtad från börsen. Modellerna angavs iprocentuell ändring respektive absolut ändring. Validitet för varje enskild kovariat testades och en risknivå avgjorde om en kovariat skulle inkluderas i modellen eller inte. Detta ledde till två modeller med bättre kurvanpassning till den givna mängd data över det valda energiindex.

This report is the result of a diploma work made at IMT at US in Linköping. The purpose of this piece of work is to investigate the possibility to design a general program for data-acquisition using LabVIEW, suiting different hardwares and connections. Great importance has been attached to communication with serialport, using bluetooth, because different wireless PPG-instruments has been developed parallel to this project. These PPG-circuits uses this type of serialcommunication. Communication with USB, GPIB and analog connection has also been examined and analog communication has been tested practically.
