The soybean can be used in multiple ways, and its high oil content makes it suitable for extraction. Soy bean meal, a by-product of the oil extraction, is a good source of protein with a high feeding value, and is therefore used in a number of different animal feeds. Further, soy bean meal has a low production price, which is one of the reasons for the extensive export of the product. There is a great demand for vegetable-based proteins, especially in the organic production where synthetic amino acids are banned. However, the current production of soy beans is not environmentally sound and that combined with the long transport distances amplifies the need of finding a locally produced protein source.

This is a study that aims to discern whether there are any differences between upper secondary level school textbooks published both before The Living History Forum (a government agency that works with issues on tolerance, democracy and human rights) was founded and after with regards to their depiction of Judaism in general and anti-Semitism and the Holocaust in particular. Underscoring the relevancy of this topic, in 1997 CEIFO (The Centre for Research in International Migration and Ethnic Relations) and Brå (Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention) conducted a survey among school children which revealed a lack of knowledge regarding the Holocaust (including whether it had even occurred). With this educational deficiency in mind, this study attempts to determine if there is an active development in text-book authoring regarding this subject.Using Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis (CDA) eight textbooks (four old and four new) are examined and compared in order to see if there have been changes in discourse regarding this topic over time. Fairclough's critical discourse analysis is a method used to analyse the relationship between discourse and changes in social and cultural development, and is thus employed in this case to determine if any significant changes have been made in textbooks regarding this topic.As a future teacher in religion it is important for me (and others) to be aware of this type of issue in order to be able to combat it when encountered in schools. It is also important, and part of one?s responsibility as a teacher, to actively and critically work with and review textbooks.This study has not found any major changes in the depiction of Judaism and anti-Semitism in any of the textbooks reviewed.

Syftet med denna kunskapsöversikt är att bidra till en ökad förståelse kring kostens betydelse för barns kognitiva utveckling samt deras förmåga till inlärning:Vilken påverkan har kosten förbarns inlärning och kognitiva utveckling? Metoden är en kunskapsöversikt med 13 analyserade artiklar. Resultatet visar att lång amningstid ger färre ADHD symtom, hyperaktivitetoch impulsivitet hos barnet. Mycket snabbmat, salt, friterad mat, rött kött, söta drycker och sötsaker bidrar till en sämre minnesfunktion och inlärningsproblem. Att äta hälsosam mat med mycket fisk, frukt och grönt bidrardettatill en god hälsa och mindre symtom av ADHD, hyperaktivitet, impulsivitet och bättre akademiska resultat..

The level of neonate mortality in a free ranging fallow deer (Dama dama) population at the Koberg estate in south western Sweden was investigated using radio-tracking techniques. During this study a total of 36 fawns (17 ?, 19 ?) were captured and marked with vhf or gps radio collars; 12 fawns in 2008 and 24 fawns in 2009. The neonate mortality calculated by the Kaplan-Meier method was 23.6 % and the mortality caused by predation was low, since only 1 of 8 non-surviving fawns died from predation by red fox (Vulpes vulpes). För att språket ska fungera normalt krävs ett samspel mellan uttrycksförmåga och förståelse av språk. Afasi är en språkstörning som kommer sig av en skada i de delar av hjärnan som påverkar språket. Att få afasi kan innebära en stor omställning i livet och ofta uppstår ett behov av anpassning av kommunikationen både för personen som fått afasi och personer i dess omgivning. Detta inkluderar även den vårdpersonal som arbetar nära personen med afasi. För att nå förståelse och kunna ge vård och omsorg av god kvalitet, måste tillräcklig kunskap om afasi finnas hos vårdpersonalen.

This study aimed to investigate whether lambs show anticipatory behaviours in a holding pen prior to entering a known arena, whether the holding pen experience prior to the arena exposure affects their play expression in the arena and whether their behaviour (in home pen) is affected if arena access is denied. Twenty pair-housed male lambs (average 14 weeks old), were exposed, in chronological order, to five treatments. Holding pen treat-ment (HP-control): Each pair was led into a holding pen (2.7 m2) and remained there for 5 minutes before returning to their home pen (6 m2). Holding pen ? arena treatment (HP-A): Each pair was led into a holding pen for 5 min and then was allowed access into the arena (22 m2, containing two hanging chains, one ball and one platform) for 15 min before re-turning to their home pen.

Nine specialist nursesworking in psychiatric inpatient units were interviewed. Six of the participants were womenand three were men aged 28-53 years.

Abstract Cavities used to be a very common problem but over time humans have learned to take care of their teeth. However, there are still many who have problems. This problem is due to microorganisms and in particular the various streptococci and lactobacilli producing acids which loosens up the enamel on teeth. These bacteria can be found at various places in the mouth and saliva. Besides being a discomfort it can be a major problems and the damaged tooth needs to be removed or make a dental filling. The aim of the study was to see how intake of probiotic tablets containing Lactobacillus reuteri PTA ATCC 5289 and Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 affects the levels of oral Streptococcus mutans and lactobacilli over a three-week period.

Tidigare forskning har visat att mediesituationen i Kurdistan är komplex och att medierna är politiserade. Syftet med denna studie är att belysa journalisters syn på deras yttrandefrihet i Kurdistan. Studien fokuserar på verksamma journalisters tankar kring yttrandefrihet, relationen med makthavare och tillgången till information.Kvalitativa forskningsintervjuer har tillämpats, med åtta yrkesverksamma kurdiska journalister bosatta i Kurdistan.Slutsatsen visar en komplexitet som är svår att synliggöra om man inte har förkunskaper i kurdisk politik och historia. Ramarna för yttrandefrihet skiljde sig helt från ramar som vi i västvärlden är vana vid. De åtta journalister som deltog i min studie hade varierande åsikter om yttrandefrihet..

SammanfattningBakgrund Det bedöms att 10 - 60 % av alla patienter på norska sjukhus och sjukhem är undernärda. Mer än hälften av dessa patienter går ned ytterligare i vikt under tiden de är inlagda på sjukhus. Norska riktlinjer (Kosthåndboken) för måltidsplanering på vårdinstanser rekommenderar systematisk måltidsplanering för att förebygga och behandla undernäring på sjukhus.Syfte Att ta fram information om aktuell situation gällande måltiderna som serverades vid ett regionalt sjukhus i Nordnorge och jämföra med nationella rekommendationer, samt att ta fram underlag för ett åtgärdsförslag. Metod Studien är en tvärsnittsstudie som genomfördes vid Nordlandssykehuset, Bodø, Nordnorge. Samtliga huvudmåltider i de två huvudkosterna (Nøkkelrådskost och Energi- og næringstett kost) näringsberäknades och jämfördes med rekommendationen. Recept, produktinformation och portionskalkyler inhämtades med intervju av kökspersonal.

BACKGROUND: Today?s societal changes, including high rate of change and increasing information flows, are increasing the demand on the individual mental capacity. It becomes increasingly difficult to analytically process all the different dilemmas and everyday decisions as individuals have a limited mental capacity available to make these decisions. Thus, it has been suggested that ego-depleted relies more heavily on intuition, which is less burdensome, when making decision. However little is known about to what extent intuitive decisions differ from analytic.

The aim of the study is to examine which present conceptions of sexuality there are in treatment of substance abuse for men. The intention is to examine how staff members in these environments perceive clients? sex and sexuality as well as studying if and in that case how they work with sexuality in treatment. A qualitative method formed the methodological approach and semistructured interviews were carried out for the collection of data. Four staff members from two different treatment institutions for substance abuse were interviewed.
