The object with this thesis is to evaluate which of the catch crops oil radish and white mustard in combination with establishment method, give the most effective nitrogen uptake. The main purpose of the catch crops is to reduce leakage of nitrogen. They are sown after the main crop and killed before the next crop. In Sweden the farmers gets subsidies to establish catch crops. The thesis is limited to the trail L3-9010 sited at HS- Malmöhus, Borgeby Gård, 237 91 Bjärred, Sweden, 2007. Only treatments with oil radish, white mustard and the reference treatments were studied.

From an anti-oppressive and a gender perspective, the aim of this paper is to examine whether three English teachers at a comprehensive school in Stockholm make gender conscious selections when selecting novels for their English literature lessons. Through quantitative research, semi-structured interviews and e-mail interviews with these teachers I have attempted to find out if they include both male and female writers when selecting English novels for their students and also what factors affect their selections. I have analyzed the interviews and the quantitative research by using a qualitative and a quantitative content analysis. The theories that I have established my analysis upon are gender theories about the male norm in society, the feminist Simone de Beauvoir?s ideas about the woman as a second gender and the sociologist Raewyn Connell?s gender regimes.

The aim was to investigate three anti-racist groups of pupils, their thoughts about respectively their work against racism. The aim was divided into the following questions: - What is, according to the groups, racism and what does the situation look like at the schools? - What does the dynamics in the group look like? - What courses of action are the groups using and how can they improve their work? - How can the groups be described according to the terms work group and basic assumption group? To answer these questions I made three group interviews, one with each group. I analysed the results partly according to earlier research and literature, partly according to the group theory of WR Bion, using the terms work group and basic assumption group. My conclusion is that the word racism seems to have been affected by inflation, since the groups include bullying as well as anti-racists.

The assignment was to design a family of products in which LED was to be used as a source of light. The main focus in the initial part of the project was to find a way to design the inside of armature which was suitable for LED technology. An armature, already in the range of products at Fagerhult, with the desired qualities that was to be strived after was the Zintra. The lighting source of the Zintra is a compact fluorescent lamp.

Malassezia otitis in dogs is a common cause of visit to a veterinary service. In otitis externa due to Malassezia overgrowth the dog has a higher number of yeast organisms and/or a local inflammatory response to the micro organism. Common clinical signs include pruritus, erythema, swelling and increased exudate production. Clinical symptoms and results from cytology of ear swabs from the ear canal is the mainstay for diagnosis. Any underlying condition has to be identified and corrected to avoid relapse. The treatment options for infective otitis externa are based upon topical administration of eardrops containing antibiotics, steroids and antifungals.

Vid försilvring av filterhus till telecomindustrin uppstår ofta oönskade kanteffekter, silverskiktet fördelas ojämnt över detaljen. Utstickande kanter och hörn får ett tjockare silverlager än kaviteter. I detta examensarbete skulle vi undersöka om det genom att endast ändra på strömstyrparametrarna skulle gå att få en bättre materialfördelning. Arbetet bestod i två delar, dels en laborationsdel, för att utröna vilka pulsparametrar som styr materialskiktets fördelning, och dels en uppskalningsdel, där försök genomfördes i fabriken. Eftersom man måste ställa om strömparametrarna vid varje ny sorts detalj som ska försilvras, var försöksmetodik också en stor del av examensarbetet.

The purpose of this study is to examine how six teachers, who work in two different schools, assess the methods Friends and Mombus in terms of bullying prevention. The Curriculum for elementary school (Lpo 94) emphasizes that it is the employees of schools who carry the main responsibility for preventing bullying among pupils. One of the main results of this study is that teachers, in addition to their work with Friends or Mombus, also need to use alternative methods to prevent bullying. Examples of these alternative methods include ?Emotional Intelligence? as well as ?friendship massage?.

This report shows methods and workflow when exploring the potential to change Outotecs HCD Silver Electrolysis machine to a module type. It?s done as an attempt to lower the workshop and installation costs and to give customer a more accurate prize directly. To do this a concept was produced which was set to a stress test. Additional objectives were to investigate freight and installation procedures, pneumatic connections and to calculate the difference in cost.Once the concept, a reinforced type of the original frame, was chosen stress tests in computer simulations were made and appropriate alterations were made.

Bakgrund: Antalen restaurangbesök har ökat de senaste åren. Det har även övervikt och andra kostrelaterade sjukdomar gjort, dock under en längre tidsperiod. Tidigare studier har visat att restaurangmat ofta innehåller höga mängder mättat fett och salt, vilka kan vara bidragande faktorer till den försämrade folkhälsan. Studenter är oftast unga människor på väg ut i livet och de matvanor som utvecklas under studietiden kan följa med till det yrkesverksamma livet, varför det är intressant att undersöka studenters lunchvanor då lunchen är en viktig del av dagens kostintag. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att undersöka lunchvanor hos studenter på Umeå universitetet i relation till campusrestaurangernas lunchutbud och bedömning av dess generella näringsinnehåll.

Hundratusentals ton vägsalt, natriumklorid, sprids ut på våra vägar vintertid för att skapa säkra trafikförhållanden. Men vintervägunderhållning och vägsaltsanvändning kan bidra till förstöring av de naturliga och interna processerna i angränsande mark och vegetation. Vägsalt sprids från vägen på olika sätt, till exempel genom att plogas bort, att det skvätter från fordon, genom avrinning, eller till och med via vinden. Salt sprider sig lösligt i grundvatten eller ytvatten som natrium- och kloridjoner och rör sig vidare i marken eller ackumuleras inom den. Klimat, väderförhållande, landskapets utformning och användning, trafikmängd och vägunderhåll är faktorer som påverkar både saltåtgången och spridningsvägarna.

This report is an assessment of the feasibility of using aerial photographs to estimate number of stems per hectare in young forest stands, used together with upper height to determine the need for pre-commercial thinning or ordinary thinning cutting. Aerial photo-interpretation was conducted in 2007 on assignment of Stora Enso Skog AB. A mean height function based on stand age produced with data from Bergvik Skog AB?s 2006 forest inventory assessment was used as a proxy for upper height and used together with photo-interpreted number of stems per hectare to determine the need for thinning cutting according to Bergvik Skog AB?s definitions. The test area is located north of Falun on Bergvik Skog AB?s land.Flight altitude was approximately 900 m above ground and the aerial photos were taken by L&L Flygbildteknik AB.

During the last couple of years it has been more important to reduce the driving on the field to prepair the soil after ploughing. The machine costs are high so it is necessary to be effective. To reach a pleasant soilbed directly after ploughing is sometimes possible on easier soils but heavier clay soils always need more tillages. There is a lot of equipment mounted on the ploughs on the market, for example Furrow Cracker and Furrow presses, which makes a pleasant soilbed on easier soils. The last year Överum and Kverneland have presented knives which are mounted on the wing or moulboard.

Hästar har transporterats längre sträckor i århundraden, först med båt och tåg och därefter på väg och med flyg. Antalet hästar som transporteras på väg har ökat i takt med att antalet hästtävlingar har ökat. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att ta reda på vad som kan göras för att förhindra och åtgärda de störningar som kan uppkomma i vätske- och saltbalansen i samband med transport genom bland annat utfodring och bra rutiner. I studien ingår även en presentation av gällande regler för transport av häst. Hur hästen ska transporteras är reglerat i djurskyddslagen (SJVFS 2000:133). Transporttiden får högst vara åtta timmar därefter måste hästen vila.
