Background and problem: The importance of banks was clearly shown during the last financial crises, when the crises that started in the banking sector spread to the rest of the world. This is one of the reasons that this thesis is focused on banks in particular, one other reason is that a lot of previous studies has chosen to exclude banks because of the fact that their balance sheet differ from non-financial companies. This thesis is a beginning in filling in the gap that exists in the knowledge of banks capital structure. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to prove that it is possible to explain the capital structure in banks and that differences in the capital structure of the banks in Great Britain, Sweden and the United states of America exists. Method: The fact that our study is partly a replication of two earlier studies made a deductive approach most appropriate.

The object of the thesis is to propose a new lighting plan for the square Fyristorg in Uppsala, and to describe the process which have led to it. It all started when I choosed the place together with the municipality of Uppsala. I have been doing research and analyzed how the place and it´s existing lighting works both during different times of the day and also in the evening. After researching the place and it´s existing lighting I´ve decided to put up the following goals fot the new lighting design. 1. The general light level of the place shall be experienced as higher than today. 2. The light level of the place shall be adapted to the light levels of surrounding places. 3. The lighting shall be free from glare. 4. The lighting shall be adapted to people passing by. 5.The lighting shall be adapted to the surrounding architecture. 6.

Syfte och frågeställningar : TidsNätverket i Bergsjön, upprättat i augusti år 2007 i Göteborg, är en verksamhet grundad på time bank-modell. Syftet med undersökningen är ?att studera vilka positiva och negativa erfarenheter av TidsNätverket i Bergsjön som dess deltagare ger uttryck för samt vilka konsekvenser verksamheten har fått för dem med avseende på empowerment och socialt kapital?. Mina frågeställningar är: 1) Vilka positiva och negativa erfarenheter av TidsNätverket i Bergsjön ger dess deltagare uttryck för? 2) Vilka konsekvenser har TidsNätverket i Bergsjön haft för uppkomsten av empowerment och socialt kapital hos deltagarna?Metod och material : Studien använder sig av semi-strukturerade intervjuer med deltagare, ostrukturerade intervjuer med den verksamhetsansvarige, liksom studier av intern dokumentation.

Målsättningen med kursen management är enligt kursbeskrivningen att utveckla en helhetssyn på företag samt ledning och styrning av företag. Avsikten är att studenterna ska få insikt i managementaspekter genom praktiskt arbete och genom aktivt deltagande vid olika kursmoment. : - Ökad självinsikt ger större förståelse för det egna beteendet och för andra människors beteenden. Genom ökad självkännedom kan ledning och medarbetare bättre utnyttja ett företags resurser.- I arbetslivet är öppen kommunikation och väl fungerande feedback viktiga element för att hålla samman en organisation och team inom denna.- Motivation är en viktig drivkraft i allt arbete. Faktorer som påverkar motivation är exempelvis ansvar, förtroende och stöd samt rättvisa.- Uppställning av vision och mål är viktigt för att driva arbetet framåt i rätt riktning i en organisation eller i ett team.- Det är viktigt att ha en öppen dialog för att undvika konflikter.

Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to examine whether some periods of declines in Swedish real credit can be explained by a credit crunch. Is it further possible, with these results, to do any conclusions about the banks behaviour in the on going financial crisis that has shadowed the country since 2007/2008? Method: A credit crunch is here defined as a period of supply-side restrictions on loans which doesn?t reflect the ongoing interest rates. By estimating a supply and demand function with a disequilibrium model the excess demand- and supply for credit due to different periods can be calculated. Conclusion: A credit crunch has been present during a period after the banking crisis of early 1990?s.

The global financial crisis hit hard on banking operations worldwide and the sector fell under considerable scrutiny, with particular criticism directed against the banks' own trading practices. A bank owned by the Swedish financial corporation HQ seemed to go without serious financial damage duringthe crisis.In 2008 Finansinspektionen began a review of HQ's activities and a number of shortcomings were identified. Among other things, HQ's risk management was questioned by Finansinspektionen and further how this potentially affected the valuation of complex financial products.In our paper we have chosen to highlight both national and international laws and guidelines that HQ used for their operations and study if HQ followed those laws and guidelines. We also want topresent the theoretical model used by HQ for the valuation of its European options and how HQ calculated their capital requirements ratio. Our purpose is to show how the valuation affected the capitalrequirement ratio and whether HQ followed the necessary laws and guidelines for the valuation of complex financial products.We have chosen to carry out a case study from a deductive approach.

Vårt syfte med uppsatsen var att beskriva, analysera och ange förutsättningarna för, och den praktiska utformningen av Balanced Scorecard på Nordea Kundcenter Privat i Malmö. Vi har genomfört en fallstudie med målet att utveckla och ge förslag på förbättringar för det befintliga styrkortet i syfte att utveckla verksamheten inom samtliga perspektiv. Vi har genom vår studie genomfört den första externa utvärderingen av Balanced Scorecard på Nordea Kundcenter Privat i Malmö. Utifrån den kan vi konstatera att styrkortet är väl implementerat i organisationen och fungerar idag som ett bra verktyg för strukturering, planering och utvärderingen av verksamheten. Genom studien har vi också kunnat konstatera att de viktigaste faktorerna till att styrkortet har nått/når framgång är ledningens och medarbetarnas förtroende för det.

AbstractThis paper is a study in press reception with the intent to examine how twelve female actionheroes have been portrayed in Swedish media between 1974 ? 2006. The purpose is to discern patterns and differences in how the female movie character is received by their contemporary journalists and to relate their views to social and gender related theories. The female actionhero is an independent and brutal character, often alone and without a mother or a child. This separates her from typical female roles, which historically been characterized by passivity, fear and dependency on the male characters in the movie. The female actionhero as a character opens up for complex reception. One perspective in the research identifies the independent woman as a feministic icon.

Background: The regulation of banks is increasing in order to stabilize the financial market. Despite this increase in regulation, financial crises still continue to occur. The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision is gradually increasing the capital requirements for banks, yet the increase in capital requirements doesn?t seem to solve the problem. This raises the question: how does capital regulation affect banks? Purpose: The purpose of this study is, primarily to illustrate the effects that capital regulation has on risk and efficiency on banks within the European Union, but secondary also study the relationship between risk, efficiency and capital regulation.Method: To achieve the purpose of this study, a deductive approach has been used, where the problem is assumed to be due to an agency problem.

Rapporten skall ge läsaren en god grund för att kunna föra vidare resonemang om brandväggar.Rapporten inleds med bakgrundsinformation som skall hjälpa läsaren att lättare förstå ämnet. Här beskrivs kort vad en brandvägg är och vilka komponenter som ingår. För att sätta detta i ett vidare sammanhang så beskrivs också vilka olika typer av brandväggar som finns. En beskrivning över Internet och dess struktur hjälper också läsaren att få mer kunskap och detta krävs för att få förståelse över de sammanhang som senare tas upp.Som metoder har jag använt mig av intervjuer och litteraturgenomgång.

In the 1970´s the North American lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta) was introduced to Sweden in large scale. The lodgepole pine affects its new environment different from Scots pine (P. sylvestris), leading to a change in biological diversity. Forestry today affects the ground beetle fauna (Carabidae). Habitat specialists associated with older forests are first affected. When the canopy closes again after a clear-cutting species that prefer open habitats reduces and those who prefer mature/closed forests increase. In this study we compare differences in diversity and community structure of ground beetles in stands of lodgepole pine and Scots pine.
