The topic of homoSexuality was until recently a taboo in Russian public discussion, but has during the last years become a hotly debated issue. Analyzing what I call the new homophobic narrative I isolate and examine two ways of ?othering? homosexuals, constructing them as strangers, when sexual minorities are discussed in today´s Russia. Sexual deviants are portrayed as threats to the nation and are connected to the West and its influence. Using analytical tools from queer theory, security studies and postcolonial approaches I discuss different ways of configuring the relation between nation and Sexuality, identities that are interwoven in the homophobic narrative.

The aim of the study is to analyse the stories of four homosexual women with Muslim backgrounds about coming out as homosexuals, from an intersectional perspective. The experience of coming out as lesbian and the intersectionality are related to different social contexts. The homoSexuality becomes a problem in connection to family and countrymen while the Muslim background becomes more of a problem in relationships. Heteronormativity and gender system appear to be cooperating systems of oppression.These women don?t describe themselves as oppressed, but potential oppression is still something that influences their lives.

The purpose of this paper is to make a feminist textual analysis of three female protagonists incontemporary novels in order to demonstrate representations of ?skeva? female bodies, deviantfrom beauty-, slender and age norms. The analysis is based on an intersectional perspective whichdemonstrates the interaction between body, sex, gender, class, Sexuality and age. The theoreticalmaterial used are class theories by Bourdieu and Skeggs, performative theories by Butler, theoriesof grotesque realism by Bachtin and the female grotesque by Russo and Lundberg. The charactersall belong to the genre of the female grotesque which manifests a feminist protest and a free zonewithin patriarchal power structures.

Technological advancements in the field of biotechnology are now in the threshold of human procreation.Human reproductive cloning is seen as an assisted method of reproduction which creates a newborn that is genetically identical to another human being.Human reproductive cloning as a technology and as a means of reproduction is not without its pros and cons. In as much as the technology promises to mention but a few, hope for the infertile couples and single parents, as well as the hope of reproduction without passing on hereditary diseases; it at the same time beeps some flashes of worry.

Background: Ovarian cancer affects many women worldwide. Tumors that grow in the genitalia and pelvis have because of its placement a large threat to the sexual ability. Treatment for ovarian cancer may lead to the sexual possibilities inhibited. Sexual health is a state of physical, mental, emotional and social well-being related to Sexuality. Sexual health can be experienced in spite of disease, dysfunction or infirmity.

The aim of this master thesis is to create an understanding of what it can be like to grow older as a homosexual man in Sweden today. The study has an intersectional and queer theoretical approach and is based on eight in depth interviews with men who are aged between 68 and 82 years old. In the analysis I deal with the problem of how Sexuality can be inter- preted with the experience of aging. Central to the analysis is the criticism of norms connected to age, Sexuality, social- and family life and gay culture.The results show that the norm-breaking sexual orientation of the men affects their life path in terms of how to organize social life, where friends often replace the traditional family. New ways of forming relationships and living their lives imply other obligations rather than the traditional for significant others, which was shown to influence the expectations and outcome of old age in terms of care and support.

This thesis investigates the underlying factors behind sexual risk-taking and non-risk-taking behavior with regard to Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) among adolescents in Lusaka, Zambia. The Qualitative Approach was used for data collection and analysis and using the theory of Social Construction, the author explains how different contexts and aspects in the Zambian Society, that is Traditional, Socio-economic, Political, etc., influence the Sexuality or sexual behavior of young people in Zambia. Hermeneutics was used to interpret the meanings in the texts/transcripts acquired through data collection and from the author?s knowledge and understanding of the Zambian historical and cultural contexts within which the participants of the research were constructed. Max Weber?s Ideal Type concept was also used to explain that each young individual?s sexual behavior is uniquely constructed by societal aspects.

The concept of domestic violence pertains to different definitions of violence, one of which is the concept of honour related violence and oppression. This paper looks at honour related violence and oppression, as defined in policy documents at a central political level, and how various discourses stand in relation to social categories and power relations. Consequently, the theoretical and methodological premise of the paper has been based on discourse analysis and an intersectional perspective has been applied to gain further depth and breadth in the analysis of the material. The intersectional perspective houses various approaches to the understanding of specific phenomena based on factors of gender, ethnicity, Sexuality and class. The analysis concludes that the concept of honour related violence and oppression is a concept without a single scientific definition. There is, however, a general consensus in the political context that honour related violence and oppression is a collective force that can be directed at both sexes.

The aim of this study has been to examine six books about Oscar Wilde?s homoSexuality during the years 1906 ? 2003. I have been analyzing their descriptions about his sexual orientation and compared them to each other to see the changes through time. In order to see some clear changes the main focus was to choose time differences between the books. It was clear that the earlier writers had negative opinions and thoughts about his sexual deviation the way they described it.

Tidigare studier har visat att sjuksköterskor inte diskuterar sexualitet med sina patienter, trots att behovet finns. Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva attityder hos sjuksköterskor på hjärtintensivavdelningar gällande samtal om sexualitet med hjärtpatienter och undersöka skillnader mellan ett universitetssjukhus och ett länsdelssjukhus samt undersöka samband i attityder för respektive avdelning. Data samlades in med den svenska versionen av instrumentet Sexuality Attitudes and Belifes Survey (SABS). Sextiofem enkäter delades ut, varav 34 besvarades. Huvudresultatet visade att sjuksköterskorna från båda sjukhusen var positivt inställda till samtal om sexualitet med patienterna.

The purpose of this thesis is to do an inventory of Swedish Bronze Age rock carvings depicting intercourse, and other sexual acts; applying gender traits on these in order to get a glimpse of what kind of normative outlook people at this time had upon Sexuality. .

Sexualitet är en del av att vara människa och berör själva meningen med livet. Den finns med oss i alla åldrar och livssituationer. Vid sjukdom och behandling påverkas sexualiteten på olika sätt och det är därför viktigt att allmänsjuksköterskan uppmärksammar och berör patientens sexualitet i omvårdnadsarbetet. Trots vetskapen om detta väljer många sjuksköterskor att borste från patientens sexualitet, vilket kan orsaka mycket onödigt lidande för patienten. Sexuell dysfunktion kan även vara det enda tecknet på allvarlig sjukdom och det är därför av stor vikt att sjusköterskan införlivar sexualiteten i omvårdnadsarbetet.

 Prostitution has been intensely debated in Sweden for nearly four decades. Two major investigations have so far been initiated by the government and numerous propositions have been put forward in the Swedish parliament resulting in the sexköpslag from 1999 that criminalizes purchase of sexual services. The law aims at punishing the buyer and protecting the women in prostitution, thus making it possible for women to be helped by various social interventions rather than punished. Swedish society has undergone major changes in these decades. Globalization, the internet and the membership in the EU have changed the Swedish society and influenced the discourse on prostitution.This paper has a twofold aim, on the one hand investigating if and how these changes have had an impact on the prostitution discourse in texts produced by the government and analyze how female and male Sexuality in connection to prostitution is constructed.

We have from three studies examined how adolescents and young adults, actors and the researchfield describes the preventive and health promotion work with sexual health. The questions weasked ourselves was based on what efforts adolescents and young adults demand, whether there aredifferences between age, gender, place of residence, ethnicity, employment, and sexual orientation.Furthermore, we investigate if these requirements are consistent with the offered interventions fromparticipants, as well as which perspectives the work with STI / HIV and SRHR issues should bebased on. The investigation concerns the work of Västra Götaland and is answered by interviewswith participants regarding the activities offered by actors, a quantitative analysis and text analysisof the answers of adolescents and young adults, and an international research overview of theresearch field. Our results show a high demand for basic preventive work from the adolescents andyoung adults. Furthermore, there is an increased demand of action from men, LGBTQ group anddepending on the place of residence.
