The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine librarian images and stereotypes in Swedish and American fiction, and to discover if there are any differences between these. The images and stereotypes are also compared to those revealed in previous research. The study is based on ten novels. Five of these are written by Swedish authors and portrays Swedish librarians.

Bakgrund: Sjuksköterskan ska arbeta utifrån en helhetssyn på människan och vården bör försökatillgodose människans behov. Sexualitet är en del av människans helhet och problem medsexualitet och sexuella relationer kan påverka livskvalitén negativt samt leda till lidande och ohälsa.Trots detta blir människans upplevelse av sexualitet och den sexuella relationen sällanuppmärksammat inom vården. Personer med MS är en speciellt utsatt grupp då sjukdomen harstor påverkan på sexuella funktioner. Syfte: Att belysa hur personer som lever med multipelskleros (MS) upplever sjukdomens påverkan på sexualitet och sexuell relation. Metod:Litteraturöversikt av 12 artiklar där sju var kvalitativa och fem var kvantitativa.

Bakgrund: Sexualiteten är en viktig del av att vara människa men den är också sårbar vid sjukdom. Hälso- och sjukvården bör ha ett holistiskt synsätt på människan vilket även innefattar att ta hänsyn till den sexuella hälsan. Syftet med studien var att belysa sjuksköterskans respektive patientens perspektiv på kommunikationen om sexuella hälsa vid sjukdom. Resultatet baserades på 13 vetenskapliga artiklar publicerade mellan 2000?2010 och visade att patienterna var missnöjda samt hade ett större behov av kommunikation än vad som gavs.

BakgrundPsykisk ohälsa är vanligt förekommande och kan uppvisas genom symtom som exempelvis ångest, oro, sömnproblem, stress och självmordstankar. Psykisk ohälsa kan tillsammans med ärftliga faktorer och livshändelser leda till att psykisk sjukdom utvecklas. Det finns fortfarande mycket fördomar och negativa attityder gentemot personer med psykisk sjukdom i samhället vilket bidrar till att många inte vågar tala om sin sjukdom. En förklaring till varför det finns negativa attityder gentemot personer med psykisk sjukdom är att människor ofta har en dålig kunskap om fenomenet och därför blir rädda för det som är främmande. Sjuksköterskestudenter delar ofta denna allmänna uppfattning gentemot personer med psykisk sjukdom.SyfteSyftet var att beskriva attityder till psykisk sjukdom samt psykiatrisk vård före, under och efter den kliniska utbildningen inom psykiatrin hos sjuksköterskestudenter i Sverige.MetodFör att kunna besvara syftet valdes metoden kvalitativ forskningsintervju med deskriptiv design.

Since drinking habits are created in social environments the workplace has an important role in alcohol prevention. This study has investigated employees (N=216) in a Swedish municipality work organisation with the purpose to describe the alcohol culture in workplace and how it influences on the workers attitudes towards alcohol. The theoretical baseline for the study has been Ames and Janes framework that explains the relation between workplace culture and drinking habits among workers. The study showed significant relations between restrictive attitude towards alcohol and not drinking with co-workers (POR: 2.5) and feeling low pressure in the work situation (POR: 2.2). Therefore it should be of interest for employers to adopt a cultural perspective and a primary prevention strategy in their alcohol policies that focuses on social relations and the workplace conditions.

 Prostitution has been intensely debated in Sweden for nearly four decades. Two major investigations have so far been initiated by the government and numerous propositions have been put forward in the Swedish parliament resulting in the sexköpslag from 1999 that criminalizes purchase of sexual services. The law aims at punishing the buyer and protecting the women in prostitution, thus making it possible for women to be helped by various social interventions rather than punished. Swedish society has undergone major changes in these decades. Globalization, the internet and the membership in the EU have changed the Swedish society and influenced the discourse on prostitution.This paper has a twofold aim, on the one hand investigating if and how these changes have had an impact on the prostitution discourse in texts produced by the government and analyze how female and male sexuality in connection to prostitution is constructed.

There is a shortage of organs available for donation worldwide. There have been several campaigns to try to increase the numbers of registrered donors. The topic has been brought to the forefront but more work is still needed to distribute information to the public.The aim of this literature review was to examine what influences people in their decision to donate their organs or not, and what role nurses play in providing the most current information available. The study found that there was several different reasons given for not donating their organs. A great number of people were convinced that their religion was against organ donation.

Abstrakt: Sedan en tid tillbaka pågår en intensiv debatt i Sverige kring könsneutrala ordet Hen och om man överhuvudtaget ska använda sig av ett könsneutralt ord och undvika att benämna kön i en del sammanhang. Syftet med denna undersökning var att undersöka hur könsneutrala pronomen ? Hen påverkar människors attityder. Det är en kvantitativ studie i experimentell design, utförd genom enkätundersökningar där frågor om känslor, beteende och uppfattningar om ordet Hen efterfrågas. Antas det generellt att en text handlar om män även om det inte är definierat? Blir samhället mer förutsättningslöst med användning av könsneutrala ordet hen? Attityder är inte lätta att förutspå, människor vet vad som är rätt och fel men agerar inte alltid utifrån sin vetskap, samt med tillräckligt stor påverkan kan en person ändra sin attityd.

The chief aim of this study is to investigate the impact of context on written peer response. A second aim is to explore students? attitudes towards peer response. The investigation has taken place at an upper secondary school in the south-east of Sweden, involving 20 students in grade 2 and 3 in the course Swedish C. The investigation is based on the students? comments on their peers? speech drafts and six qualitative interviews.

Abstract The objective of our study was to get knowledge about how teachers think when they make purchases to preschool. Do they consider making environmentally conscious purchases? Do they work actively to transfer environmental consciousness to the children?We chose to interview nine preschool teachers and one cook in two different local municipalities. Our investigation showed that there was a very low engagement in these issues. The teachers said that they were very strictly bound to already existing public contracts and did not see any possibilities to influence the preschools consumption.The teachers hade no idea that not only their work could result in environmental savings in the school, but also result in attitudes changes among the children, their parents and, in the long term, society in general.

AbstractIn this text the attitudes towards and using of blogs in teaching Swedish toteenagers will be explored. The results are based on a survey made amongst 17teachers and 58 students from all over Sweden. The end results show that theusage of blog still hasn?t found a permanent way into the classrooms, but has anappeal to and is being used by predominantly younger teachers both, male andfemale, with a positive response from students regardless of gender. Jag har valt att göra denna undersökning eftersom det fascinerar mig att undersöka varför det är så vanligt att man som kvinna köper och läser damtidningar. Samtidigt som man möts av en ganska ensidig bild av vad vi vill läsa, och hur vi skall leva lyckliga med hjälp av dessa damtidningar. Hur dessa tidningar skapar bilder och texter och visar upp en mall som vi tror att man blir lyckliga av att leva efter, och vad är det som påverkar oss så starkt att vi köper dessa tidningar. Man vet att det idag är mer jämställt inom manligt/kvinnligt men jag ifrågasätter om det är ett fenomen som även smittat av sig till medierna. Kvinnans roll i samhället ser idag annorlunda ut än vad den har gjort genom tiderna, men på vilket sätt visar det sig i damtidningar som har en stark kraft att påverka kvinnor.

This paper discusses difficulties and Failures with being a Neutral and objective scientist when writing about a subject which he or she is dedicated too.The purpose with this paper is to study the knowledge process, in other words, is some knowledge harder to see due to the scientist dedication to the subject or is some knowledge constructed due to the scientist dedication to the subject studied, and the process of intermediating, in other words, how to validate the results. Subject which is discussions are scientist objectivity, sociologist dilemmas, and different roles of scientists. The paper also deals with the importance of different perspectives and how ours choice of perspective influences ours research. Ethical state of conditions in interview situations and how we can reflect and criticise our own part and attitudes as an interviewer are also discussed in this paper..

In recent years, the digitalization and media convergence has increased, which has made the market for public service- medias more competitive. Perhaps this is why public service has chosen to communicate with recipients outside their own channels.The purpose of this quantitative study is to find out how students attitudes looks towards the fact that public service are performing marketing communication. To find out, we conducted a survey, as 256 students of Linnaeus University in Kalmar answered. Together with the study we have used different theoretical references in order to analyse the responses from the survey, and obtain our conclusions.By analysing the empirical material we came to the conclusion that the majority are in favour of public service performing communication outside its own channels. But we also noticed that the communication needs to be in a certain way for the students to be positive.

The aim of this study was to investigate how mothers in families with strong patriarchal traditionssee their role as a mother and as a woman. The study is built upon two main questions: What arethe expectations of your family and your immediate environment on you as a mother and as awoman? And what does ?honour? mean for you as a mother and as a woman? In our paper wehad as a starting point a gender perspective that was further on applied in defining our researchquestion. We are also giving an account of the phenomenological perspective that we also had asa basis of our work. We interviewed six mothers living in families with strong patriarchaltraditions.
