A Queer Reading of Charles Bukowski?s Women and Love is a dog from hellThis thesis aims to examine how the representation of gender is portrayed in relation to sex and power in Charles Bukowski?s novel Women and poetry collection Love is a dog from hell.The theoretical frame of the analysis is based on Judith Butler?s queer theory regarding the heterosexual matrix and gender performativity. The analysis consists of a textual comparison where a specific selection of poems is analysed parallel to the novel to see how they interact and how they oppose each other, through a queer reading.The analysis is divided in three parts where the first one discusses the construction of masculinity in Charles Bukowski?s protagonist Henry Chinaski and how this is presented differently in the two literary genres. The second part reveals how sex is presented in relation to power and how active and passive women are considered as sexually acceptable.

The purpose of this study was to examine how young men and women who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) who are exposed to honor related violence, intimidation or repression perceive their situation, what kind of help/support they have received and if they feel that the help and support offered by the society has been adequate. After the murder of Fadime Sahindal in 2002 attention was drawn to honor violence in Sweden. During the period 2003-2007 the government invested 200 million SEK for efforts to prevent honor related violence. Studies have shown that honor related violence not only affects young immigrants, but also young people with different sexual orientation then heterosexual. It also shows that the honor violence is not depended on religion or ethnicity.

The aim of the study was to examine which approach future social workers have regarding specific competence in the meeting with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer clients. Previous research shows that LGBTQ people have a low confidence towards social services, police and courts and say they face discrimination and degrading treatment to a greater extent than the heterosexual population. Research shows that education and better skills of LGBTQ culture among professionals can change the situation.The essay is based on a model of cultural competence in working with sexual minorities and people with a transgender expression. The model defines the meaning of an LGBTQ perspective and is designed to improve social work with LGBTQ clients.The study is quantitative and empirical data consists of 203 survey responses from students with a long experience of the social work education. The analysis of the results is based on the cultural competence three principles; attitudes, knowledge and skills.

Eftersom sexualitet anses vara en del av människans basala behov innebär det att sjuksköterskor bör se sexuell hälsa och ohälsa som en del av sitt ansvarsområde. Tidigare studier har visat ur ett patientperspektiv att sjuksköterskor inte gör detta i tillräckligt stor utsträckning, och under sökordet sexualitet/reproduktion dokumenteras det väldigt sällan. Ur ett sjuksköterskeperspektiv är det därför viktigt att undersöka vad detta beror på. Syftet är att med hjälp av en litteraturöversikt undersöka om sjuksköterskor talar om sexuell ohälsa med sina patienter, och om de inte gör det vilka är då de upplevda bakomliggande hindren till detta. Metoden som användes var en litteraturöversikt som baserades på åtta vårdvetenskapliga artiklar med både kvantitativ och kvalitativ ansats där sjuksköterskornas upplevelser stod i fokus.

The purpose of this study was to, by using thematic analysis, investigate how psychologists experience and are affected by treating sexually assaulted individuals, if and how they use different coping strategies to maintain their own wellbeing and how they are affected by the organization. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight psychologists working in a clinic dedicated for patients with history of sexual assault. The analysis identified one general theme and four themes. The general theme Consciousness and active choices minted the other themes. Participants' awareness of their own and colleagues? health supplied conditions for inner reflection, which along with concern for potential negative effects resulted in active choices for mental health and work environment.

I det dagliga mötet med elever ställs lärare inför utmaningar som kräver att läraren besitter en förmåga att ta ställning, både etiskt och moraliskt. Dessa utmaningar kan vara av det slaget att de resulterar i en konflikt. Denna konflikt blir ett dilemma då läraren tvingas göra avvägningar mellan olika etiska och moraliska hänsyn, i syfte att hantera situationen. Hanteringen av ett dilemma fodrar en god etisk medvetenhet. En etisk medvetenhet förutsätter ett ansenligt kunnande inom professionens yrkesetik.

Detta examensarbete behandlar lärares sätt att se på och undervisa i etik, samt lärares påverkan på barns etiska och moraliska utveckling. I arbetet kommer det fram att lärarna i min undersökning ser som sin främsta uppgift att stödja barnens utveckling, så att de ska klara av framtida konflikter och problem. Detta sker bl a genom etikundervisning, ofta i form av diskussion eller värderingsövningar. When we studied our phenomenon, our overall research deign was qualitative interviews. Our data has been analyzed with an abductive method of analysis, influenced by Grounded theory. Results and conclusions: The study shows that leaders in the real estate agent-business trough a Structural ethical climate contributes to a Situation-based ethical decision-making of their employees by acting as role models, leads by example, highlighting the office values and rewards & punishes behaviors to control their employees? ethical decision making. Suggestions for further research: We believe that future studies can be conducted through observations to study both leaders and employees, to pay attention to employees? opinions and reflect on what affects them.

This study examines the possibilities of interpreting the moral values and ethics presented in the current curriculums in a way that makes them inclusive and constructive. This essay is investigating heterosexuality in Gun-Britt Sundströms Maken. With help from the queer theories of formost Judith Butler, but also to some extent the ideas of Michel Foucault, I have tried to answer the question of which norms are becoming clear and which are being broken in the novel. I have also looked at a few of Gayle Rubin?s opposites in her sexual value hierarchy. Some of the norms that are brought to light in the essay revolves around faithfulness, lust towards the ?right? person and for the ?right? reasons.
