There is an ongoing discussion amongst Swedish politicians about how the Swedish police will be able to handle increased organised criminality represented in the growing threats of terrorism. In May 2006 representatives from the seven parties of the Swedish parliament debated the question whether the Swedish security service and Swedish police should be permitted to use increased surveillance with the purpose of preventing severe criminality.The question of increased surveillance is a matter often connected to matters of personal privacy. The aim of this master?s thesis is to study which arguments are being used for and against the proposed law that would permit surveillance with the purpose of preventing crime, as well as examine members of Parliaments view on privacy.The methodology used in this thesis is both argumentation analysis and rhetoric analysis. These two tools are used to examine the minutes from a parliamentary debate about the bill mentioned earlier.

Background: First Line Managers are expected to create a health promoting work environment. Research has shown that the prerequisites for accomplishing a health promoting leadership are not always the best. Aim: The aim was to elucidate the prerequisites for a health promoting leadership as First Line Manager at a University hospital in Sweden based on competence, role, support structures and own durability. Results: First Line Managers at the chosen hospital seems to have rather good conditions for conducting a health promoting leadership. All respondents did have a university degree and most thought that their competence corresponded well with the role.

ABSTRACTThe principal aim of the study was to compare the feeding behaviour of cattle, sheep and goats on pasture and explain any differences between speices. Furthermore, I compared foraging behaviour between dry season and the beginning of the rainy season, in order to see any relationships between weather and behaviour.The study was carried out in Shompole in southern Kenya. Behavioural data were collected by observing herds of cattle, sheep and goats on pasture. The livestock were herded on pasture during the days and kept in bomas, where people live, during the nights. The weather in Shompole is characterized by high ambient temperature and low, bimodal rainfall.

Haemophilia is an inherited disease which causes increased bleeding due to defect clotting factors VIII and/or IX. There are two forms of haemophilia, A and B, which both are X-linked and due to mutations of the genes of factor VIII and factor IX respectively. This study focuses on Haemophilia A and thereby factor VIII.The drugs that are available on the Swedish market today for patients with haemophilia A include Factor VIII(FVIII), which has been purified from human plasma and recombinant factor VIII(rFVIII). The main goal of this study is to gain a better understanding of the effects of treatment of haemophilia A with either purified plasma factor VIII or recombinant factor VIII on reducing or preventing bleeding and on side effects.  The study was designed as a literature review and searches were carried out in PubMed at the Linnaeus University library.  The criteria for selection of articles were: patients with haemophilia, treatment with plasma derived and/or recombinant factor VIII as well as clinical studies.

Bakgrund: I Sverige är övervikt och fetma ett folkhälsoproblem. Detta tenderar till att bli allt större vilket kan ge en ökad risk för bl.a. hjärt- och kärlsjukdomar samt diabetes typ 2. En allmänsjuksköterska möter överviktsopererade patienter varhälst i vårdsektorn hon/han arbetar. Därför är det viktigt att känna till hur dessa människor upplever sin nya vardag för att på bästa sätt kunna erbjuda dem en optimal, hälsofrämjande vård.

År 2008 var 43 miljoner barn under fem år diagnostiserade med fetma. Fetma anses som en kronisk/långvarig sjukdom och ett folkhälsoproblem med behov av förebyggande arbete för att förhindra framtida konsekvenser. För beräkning av kroppsfett används Body Mass index (BMI). BMI är det mått som används världen runt och räknas genom att dividera kroppsvikt i kilogram med längd i meter i kvadrat. Att ungdomarna drabbas av fetma beror främst på dåliga matvanor, obegränsad tillgång till kalorier i form av kolhydrater och fett ofta i kombination med mindre fysisk aktivitet.

The purpose of this study was to examine how young managers (26-32 years old) in municipal old-age care organizations, in Skåne and Blekinge, experience their professional roles as managers in relation to their age. One of the questions asked in this study was whether managers experienced that their age affected their managerial position, and in that case, how? In order to investigate this, a qualitative method was used, including interviews and observations. Seven interviews with young managers were conducted. My approach in the working process was influenced by Grounded theory as defined by Glaser and Strauss (1968).

The purpose of this Master Thesis has been to investigate the possibilities for a new type of noise reduction solution that could decrease the negative effects resulting from larger traffic roads. The idea has been to construct a noise barrier with a roof ? like a tunnel placed on a road. The choice of material has been focused on transparent materials in order to lower visual intrusion and barrier effects. This project idea is called the Noise tunnel.After having investigated the current offer of noise solutions, it has been concluded that these solutions rarely provide a sufficient level of noise reduction ? at least not when government regulations of acceptable noise levels are applied.

Bakgrund Idag är Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) en vanlig behandlingsform mot fetma med väldokumenterade effekter på långsiktig viktminskning. De faktorer som bidrar till viktnedgången efter RYGB är komplexa och delvis oklara, varav en är smakförändringar. Betydelsen av smakförändringar på patienternas matvanor är relativt outforskad liksom patienternas egna upplevelser av fenomenet. Hur skulle patienterna beskriva sina smakförändringar och hur har det påverkat dem fysiskt och psykiskt?Syfte Syftet med studien är att utforska upplevelser och erfarenheter av smakförändringar hos patienter som genomgått en RYGB.Metod Sex kvalitativa djupintervjuer genomfördes med informanter som genomgått RYGB i Värmland, 2012, och som upplevt smakförändringar.

Bakgrund: Genom historien har personer med allvarlig psykisk störning ofta tvingats leva avskilda och utstötta från samhället, en stigmatisering som finns kvar än idag.Syfte: Syftet med litteraturstudien var att belysa hur personer med allvarlig psykisk störning upplever sin sociala situation samt hur dessa personer upplever att sociala relationer påverkar återhämtningen från allvarlig psykisk störning.Metod: Till studien eftersöktes kvalitativa artiklar i relevanta databaser, nio stycken artiklar som passade studiens syfte valdes ut. Artiklarna genomgick manifest innehållsanalys, två huvudkategorier och ett flertal underkategorier kunde urskiljas.Resultat: I litteraturstudien framgick att personer med allvarlig psykisk störning känner sig utstötta från samhället och upplever fördomar riktade mot sig. Svårigheter med sociala kontakter leder till ensamhet. Önskan om meningsfulla aktiviteter fanns för att få en mer meningsfull vardag och lättare kunna knyta kontakter med andra. De sociala relationernas betydelse för återhämtningen från allvarlig psykisk störning framkom tydligt i litteraturstudien.

The storm Gudrun January 8-9 2005 felled about 70 millions cubic metres forest in southern Sweden. The majority of the wind damaged forest was spruce (Picea abies). In order to decrease the risk of wind damages in the future other trees species are of interest for forestry in southern Sweden.
