The Swedish government has introduced a goal to reduce the energy intensity by 20% to the year 2020. To reach this goal actions need to be taken throughout the energy sector which includes residential and commercial buildings. This thesis considers the possibility to reduce the energy usage in a building located close to Uppsala. The analyzed building is a combined office, cafeteria and entrance and was completed about half a year before this project started. Therefore the measures presented for a more energy efficient building are presented as measures for future constructions.Simulations have been made in VIP-Energy, a dynamic energy calculation program.

Eight out of ten Swedes has once in a while pain in the back, neck or shoulders. This often depends on inactivity and monotonous work under a long time. Pain affects us mentally since the body and mind affect each other, which can lead to an evil circle of pain and depression. A typical imbalance in an office worker with the arms in front of the body while working is that the muscles on the front of the trunk will be shortened, since they never work with their full length and become strong because of the constant use. On the other hand, the muscles on the back of the trunk will be weakened and elongated, since they are working in an extended and static position.

This thesis suggest an explanation for is how it is possible to understand that the large arena project in Växjö grew to cost sums of money that initially in the project not would have been an alternative to discuss, how goals changed and how the institutional environment changed the prerequisites of the project. As empirical part of the research, to describe and analyze the project, the municipality?s documentation of the project have been analyzed and semi-structured interviews have been made. Theoretical perspective is taken from the neo-institutionalism in sociology of organizations and change, and theories of the complexity of large projects with major symbolic value and importance. The project starts with the municipality?s investment and cost to be hold back, defined as a necessary condition in order to fulfil an ambitious drive towards new sport arenas.  Eventually the necessary condition was abandoned and the arenas were built with the municipality responsible for the investment, cost and risk in the project.

Vi har skapat en kandidatuppsats i syfte att undersöka hur mellanchefer upplever och hanterar sitt bemötande av personal samt hur de upplever och hanterar sitt bemötande i förhållande till rollen som mellanchef och andra roller de har i back- respektive frontstage. Uppsatsen syftar även till att undersöka om mellanchefers bemötande av personal påverkas av deras egna erfarenheter från privat- och arbetslivet. Vi ville också ta reda på om människans bemötande skiftar utifrån olika situationer och om detta sker beroende på vilka som ingår i bemötandesituationen samt om för många olika roller att handskas med leder till ett tillstånd av kaos i bemötandet av andra. Vår förhoppning med denna studie är att bidra till att ge mellanchefer en möjlighet att reflektera över sitt bemötande mot sin personal och på så sätt kunna utveckla sitt bemötande. Med kvalitativ metod däribland samtalsintervjuer och observationer insamlades material som sedan tolkades och analyserades utifrån Goffmans rollteori, Meads symboliska interaktionism och Cooleys spegeljaget.I vår huvudfråga ville vi undersöka hur mellanchefer upplever och hanterar sitt bemötande av personalen samt hur de upplever och hanterar sitt bemötande i förhållande till rollen som mellanchef och andra roller de har i back- respektive frontstage.

This thesis explore women?s needs when reentering society after having served a sentence at the female prison Färingsö, outside Stockholm and whether those needs are being met in the reentry strategies that are being provided. Parallel to this the thesis also examines if there, based on nonconformity and gender theories, is a socially constructed representation of women maintained in the rehabilitation work.The method of this thesis applied semi-structured interviews and used snowball sampling to expand the network of informants to obtain the data necessary. Totally five interviews were carried out. Previous research has shown that women in prison have much more complex problems than men and that there is a need for reentry strategies that take gender in account.The results showed that in terms of being able to reenter back in society, women needed help to structure a previously chaotic life.

SammanfattningDagens bilar är ofta överdimensionerade och har ofta topphastigheter på över 200 km/h. Detta är hastigheter som väldigt få personer någonsin kör i och som dessutom är olagliga i Sverige och i de flesta av Europas länder. Överdimensioneringen resulterar i många fall i en lägre effektivitet vilket ger en högre bränsleförbrukning.Syftet med detta projekt var att reda ut hur medelsvensken använder sin bil och utefter detta ta reda på vilken typ av drivlina som är bäst anpassad ur miljösynpunkt och dimensionera denna.För att ta reda på hur medelsvensken använder sin bil gjordes en litteraturstudie över svenskars körvanor. Från denna kunde det fastställdas att den genomsnittliga bilresan i Sverige var 17 kilometer lång och att en Svensks dagliga genomsnittliga resväg var 40 kilometer. En kravspecifikation ställdes upp med svenskars körvanor som grund där det bland annat fastställdes att bilens räckvidd för eldrift skulle vara minst 80 kilometer, detta för att kunna täcka majoriteten av befolkningens dagliga resväg.En seriehybrid med navmotorer valdes som det lämpligaste drivsystemet, och för att dimensionera detta användes en Toyota Prius Five som modell för en standardbil.

This report presents an independent thesis corresponding 15hp and was carried out on Högskolan in Halmstad during the spring of 2014. The thesis is the final course which ends a three-year mechanical engineering program with focus on technical design.The thesis started in an operation which electricians are exposed to every day. The operation in question is cable laying or wiring. The tool they use is called a tension spring and is a long and stiff wire, usually made out of nylon or fiberglass. The tension spring is fed through pipes in the walls and brings the desired cables with it on the way back.

This thesis is an evaluation of a new design concept for statorfeets in Gallejaur hydro power plant. Founder of the work is Vattenfall AB Vattenkraft. During the 70- and 80´s nuclear power began to be phased in to the Swedish grid, which meant that hydropower became an important source of rules. The generators began running in so called intermittent operations instead of basic operations, which meant 300-600 start/stop per year instead of one-ten numbers start/stop per year. In order to deal with the thermal forces that arise at every start and stop suppliers began to mount so called sliding joints, which is to take advantage of these forces and maintain the stator shape.

Cross-suckling, i.e. when an offspring nurses a female other than their own mother, occurs in pig production systems where sows are group housed during lactation. As production systems where several sows and their litters are housed together during lactation are getting more common, the need of knowledge regarding cross-suckling increases. The overall aims with this thesis was to investigate how sow behaviour and productivity are associated with the occurrence of cross-suckling, and to investigate consistency in sow nursing behaviour related to cross-suckling. The study included information about the first 4 parities of 40 LxY sows kept in outdoor and indoor production environments. Sows were single housed the first 2 weeks after farrowing and group housed (4 or 5 sows per group) from 2 weeks after farrowing until weaning, 7 weeks after farrowing.

Sarah Kane?s first play Blasted (1995) has often been read in a normative and biographical way by critics, authors and previous researchers. This essay makes a supplementary close reading of Blasted from gender and genealogical perspectives and utilizes theoretical works by Judith Butler, Luce Irigaray and Michel Foucault. My study makes clear that the characters different positions in language and talk create and maintain a power imbalance between them. Efforts to change and develop one?s individual position in language and talk are being made throughout the play since it is the only way to bring about a change in the social power structure.

Jämtkraft AB which is a power production company in Sweden has bought two newhydro power units to their station in Hissmofors. The two new generators are using aconcept with sliding stator feet to handle the thermal expansion.The concept with sliding stator feet on hydro electric generators has not beenworking satisfactory on many hydro power stations in Sweden and has caused a lot ofcosts due to long downtimes.The new station in Hissmofors is very important for Jämtkraft AB, and therefore theywant to know how to make sure that the sliding stator feet are working as theyshould. According to theories and a simplified model of the generator the stator feetdisplacement should be around 1 -1,6 mm.The generators are delivered with a surveillance system that will measure thedisplacement of the sliding stator feet. Ett relativt stort upprustnings- och förnyelseprogram pågår för att säkra framtida svensk vattenkraftproduktion och för att möta nya riktlinjer för dammsäkerhet. Under dessa förnyelseprojekt har vissa skador i form av sprickor i betongfundamenten upptäckts, bland annat kring statorfötternas upplag. Orsaken till dessa sprickor härleds till statorfötternas funktion, samt till temperaturvariationer vid förändrade driftsmönster. Tidigare gick generatorerna kontinuerligt medan det nu är vanligt med flera starter och stopp varje dygn. Denna rapport har som syfte att förtydliga det kraftspel som finns i dagens generatorfundament, att beräkna uppträdande spänningar och att försöka hitta data som bekräftar sprickbildningen.

This Bachelor thesis examines the possibility of replacing an outdated, analog video recording system to a digital counterpart. It is key that the video and audio signals remain synchronized, generator locked and time stamped. It is up to nine different video sources and a number of audio sources to be recorded and treated in such a manner which enables synchronized playback. The  different video sources do not always follow a universal standard, and differ from format as well as resolution. This thesis aims to compare a number of state of the art commercial of the shelf solutions with proprietary hardware.
