Migration av distribuerad relationsdatabas för lagring i webbläsare

An increasing amount of companies and organizations are starting to implement the use of cloud computing in their business. This trend results in that software, which was previously sold and distributed to the customers whom then had to install the software on their own computers, now is being replaced with Software as a Service (SaaS). SaaS makes software available through the customers? browsers, which results in that the service providers only have to administer a single application. The process to migrate a distributed application to a service delivered as a SaaS lacks sufficient investigation; this paper will provide some guidelines for conducting such a pro- cess.

Upp eller ut? Ut tack!: En studie om frivillig personalomsättning på managementkonsultfirmor

The purpose of this thesis is to understand the reasons to why management consultants choose to leave their positions at large and established management consultant companies. The empirical data are made up of eleven interviews with men and women, both management consultants that have left their previous positions as well as a consultant who has chosen to stay with her first company and a representative from one of the large companies active within the management consultant industry. We have used the Job Embeddedness Theory combined with theories about identity, legitimacy, institutional norms and gender in order to understand the thoughts and reasoning behind the management consultants´ resignation. We have found that issues with the work itself and characteristics of the industry prevent the management consultants from being embedded within the management consultant company. Rather, some of the characteristics of the industry such as ?up or out? and the need to constantly perform work as a ?pushing-out mechanism?.

This thesis presents the question of a possible breakthrough for mobile payment solutions in Sweden. The way payments are made and the way cash is being used in the society is changing. To be accepted as an alternative method, if cash isn't king anymore, the new technology will have to acquire user acceptance. In this thesis a case study of Swish, a mobile payment solution for P2P-payments, is presented. The focus of the study is customer value and technology acceptance of the service.

Web services : en integration av CRM och kundzon

Detta projekt drevs på uppdrag av Flex Datasystem som behövde en vidareutveckling av deras aktuella hemsida. Här finns bland annat möjlighet att direkt ladda ner uppdateringar för kundernas program. Problemet var att hemsidan inte innehöll någon information om uppdateringarna. Kunderna måste då vända sig direkt till supporten för att få information om vad som har åtgärdats. Det här projektet gick ut på att utveckla en funktionalitet som, med automatik, publicerar information om varje uppdatering.

OESP-paradigmet som ett komplext adaptivt system

Problem: Under senare år har mer organiska idéer präglat det strategiteoretiska tänkandet. En ansats till att dels vidareutveckla de organiska tankegångarna och dels sammanföra rådande strategiparadigm till en enhetlig modell har gjorts av Farjoun (2002). Modellen som blev resultatet kallas OESP-paradigmet och bär med sig likheter med vad som kallas ett komplext adaptivt system. Men genom att anta OESP-paradigmet som ett komplext adaptivt system följer också vissa implikationer. Dessa konsekvenser förklaras med hjälp av delar från komplexitetsteorin.

Tack för underbar service! Vad som motiverar serveringspersonal i restaurangbranschen

Många teorier utgår från att det går att åtskilja inre och yttre motivation, då den inre förklarar drivkrafter och behov som leder till handling, och den yttre beskriver hur omständigheter som belöningar och respons påverkar motivationen. Våra intervjuer har påvisat att uppdelningen mellan inre och yttre inte lämpar sig inom restaurangbranschen, då den ena skapar förutsättningar för den andra. De problem som inleder uppsatsen har fått en ny betydelse, då vi fått insikt att problemen istället är faktorer som hjälper branschen framåt genom motiverad personal. Det är därför högst relevant att ledare är väl insatta i vad det är som driver dess serveringspersonal, för att sedan med hjälp av yttre motivation ytterligare stimulera och utveckla och därav skapa en motiverad personalstyrka för att arbeta enligt restaurangens intresse..

Talent Management : Möjlighet eller hot? Sett ur HR-anställdas perspektiv.

The purpose of this study is to contribute with new knowledge of  how Talent Management can be seen as a an opportunity or threat for organizational development, concerning competence, on the basis of HR. The research questions asked are: Out of wich aspects can Talent Management be seen as an opportunity or threat on the basis of HR-employees? How can it affect the work of HR? To answer these questions qualitative interviews with five employees within HR from four different companies has been executed. The essay has been investigated on the basis of an explorative aim and with a qualitative method. The empirical results has indicated common themes such as director support, HRs view of Talent Management, HRs development and shifts of generations.

The aim of this study is to investigate the problematisation of the swedish railwaysector during the early 1990?s from a New public management-perspective. The method of approach is a ?What is the problem represented to be?-analysis as advocated by Carol Bacchi. By applying this method to the official investigation aimed at providing suggestions for increasing competition in the railway sector it has been shown that the process of deregulation has strong connections to the ideas and models suggested by the New public management-ideology of organisational theory. .

Den informella organisationen : Jämställdhetsutredning inom bank-och finansbranschen

During the autumn of 2007 I carried out an investigation within the bank and finance Sector. The aim of the investigation was to see how informal aspects could be understood in relation to equality within Bank AB? The main question was: Which are the obstacles and opportunities for equality within Bank AB? To answer the main question I asked the following questions to the material: Are there any gender related different within the organization? How are men and women represented within the internal magazine? Which are the conceptions related to sex/gender within the organization? The investigation is based on a survey, the internal magazine was investigated and finally interviews took place. Throughout the investigation I used organization theory in a gender perspective. With the gender organization theory I examined concepts as structures, leadership, symbolism and changes associated with equality.

Sociala medier för Knowledge management : Företags användning av webb 2.0 baserade kollaborationsverktyg för kunskapshantering

Knowledge is today one of the most important resources for an organization to handle. But knowledge can also be difficult for organizations to manage. The internet is still growing and new tools take form that allows users to effectively share information. The purpose of this report was to describe how organizations can make use out of internal social media to facilitate knowledge management processes. Three issues involving mapping, coding and dissemination of knowledge to were produced to answer the thesis. The study was limited to examining the identification, coding and dissemination of knowledge through the internal social media plattformen, IBM Connections. The theoretical framework emphasizes how social networks can promote knowledge sharing, how a knowledge mapping can promote knowledge dissemination and sharing, how knowledge can be stored in data sources and how important interaction is to spread awareness. The theory has been supplemented by descriptions of how the system IBM Connections works. Surveys were conducted on four companies that use IBM Connections as an internal communication plattformen. The four companies were selected to illustrate how they use the plattformen of knowledge management processes and we chose to interview the people who were responsible for the introduction of the plattformen. The study identified several similarities between the different companies and that although there were some technical and cultural recalcitrant units against this new type of system within the organization so favored IBM Connections knowledge in several ways. The built-in search automatic created a map of knowledge through the plattform's user profiles. Saved files and documents could be found even after the employees left the company, which encodes knowledge into the company knowledge resources. The opportunity to interact with one another, often over great distances, favored the sharing of knowledge. A comparison with the theoretical framework provided us with the conclusion that internal social media can be used in several ways to Knowledge management through automated knowledge maps, the ability to store knowledge within the company and to communicate knowledge across functional and geographical boundaries in interactive discussions..

Utvärdering av solcellsanläggningen på Universeum

The main aim of this master thesis was to see the process of an interactive online reference service from idea to final product. The reference service we have studied is developed and used by the Library of the National Institute for Working Life in Stockholm, Sweden and goes by the name phibi. Our goal was to review the whole realization process from the reasons why a service like this was created, how the service was introduced and implemented inside the organisation and finally what the result and consequences were for both the library staff and for the users of the service. Phibi is designed to be a tool that fosters communication between the library staff and the remote users where the users get the opportunity to be helped with their questions by the library staff although they are not physically present in the library. To understand the process we conducted a case study with 11 interviews of the library staff, the superior and the initiator to phibi.

Automatiserad service är ett växande område där olika produkter och tjänster erbjuds genom kiosk- automater. Att använda den här typen av system är inget nytt, det har använts på flygplatser en lång tid för att avlasta personal, eektivisera och spara kostnader samt göra det smidigare för kunden att resa. Skillnaden är att det har börjat anammas av flera typer av företag och framförallt så är dessa system eektiva i situationer där man vill spara in pengar och låta kunden själv genomföra sina köp eller bokningar. Men för att dessa system ska vara kompletterande och inte öka utgifterna för företagen så krävs det att kiosk-tjänsterna har en fungerande och eektiv interaktionsdesign. Annars leder det till missnöjda kunder och ökade omkostnader för uppdateringar och underhåll.Vi har undersökt och utvärderat tre system för att se vilka brister som finns i deras användbarhet och hur detta påverkar efektiviteten.
