This Masters Thesis is about the Swedish National Council for Cultural Affairs and the arms length principle. The principle is used to explain the separation of power between two parts with a common interest. The main purpose is to elucidate if, and if so in what way, the arms length principle can be used to explain the relation between the National Council for Cultural Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Culture, i.e. the Swedish government, but also to examine the structures of power and relations within the Council. In the thesis we show that in the field of cultural policy the content of the arm lengths principle varies due to the many interpretations of the meaning.

Isocyanater är en grupp kemiska ämnen som framförallt används vid tillverkning av polyuretan (PUR). PUR förekommer i en mängd olika varianter så som skum i möbler och bilar, men även som färger och lacker. Isocyanaters hälsovådliga effekter är välkända och exponering kan leda till olika typer av luftvägsbesvär (texbronkit och astma). Det finns många olika metoder beskrivna för att mäta halter av isocyanater i luft.De isocyanater som används i industriella sammanhang är ofta tekniska kvalitéer som består av olika typer och isomerer av isocyanater.Försök har visat att det totala isocyanatinnehållet underskattas i vissa tekniska kvalitéer av isocyanater vid bestämning med kromatografiska metoder [1].Anledningen till detta är oklart, men analyter som är svåra att eluera medomvändfas LC eller allmänt svårlösta analyter skulle kunna vara en förklaring.I den här rapporten presenteras en metod för att karakterisera tekniska kvalitéer av isocyanaten MDI. Metoden baseras på kromatografisk separation med hjälp av HPTLC och karakterisering av fraktioner från HPTLC-plattan med MS.Isocyanaterna har analyserats främst som derivat med dibutylamin, men andraderivat har även studerats.Det gick att påvisa en fraktion med okänt isocyanatinnehåll, på HPTLC-plattan.Strukturen på ingående komponenter kunde inte säkerställas.

Today it is common to state that we are living in an information overloaded society. But there are many different definitions of what can be said to constitute Information Overload and there is a lack of substantial research on the subject. Conclusions in the available literature on Information Overload are often drawn on anecdotal evidence and carries a dramatized picture of the causes and effects of the phenomenon.With the tools of discursive analysis this two years master?s thesis explores how the phenomenon Information Overload is portrayed in six popular science books that deals with the subject: Alvin Toffler (1970) Future Shock, Orrin Klapp (1986) Overload and Boredom, Richard Wurman (1989) Information Anixety, Andrew Keen (2007) The cult of the amateur, Maggie Jackson (2008), Distracted and Nicholas Carr (2010) The Shallows. The result of the analysis shows that there is a common discourse of how the subject of Information Overload is represented, which stretches in and between the books intertextually.

Avsikten med detta arbete har varit att undersöka huruvida någon prestandaskillnad föreligger mellan nätverksnodernas vidarebefordring av prioriterad trafik i en nätverksmiljö med Quality of service-funktioner (QoS) implementerade och nätverksnodernas arbete i samma nätverksmiljö med separata, virtuella nätverk uppsatta med hjälp av Virtual routing and forwarding (VRF). Målet var att resultatet ska ha möjlighet att väga in när för- och nackdelar mellan olika sätt att separera nätverkstrafik jämförs ur prestandasynpunkt. Rapporten beskriver arbetet med samt resultatet av ett empiriskt experiment som kontrollerade VRF:ers påverkan på QoS-funktioner. Ett fysiskt nätverk sattes upp för att kontrollera hur QoS påverkades av logisk separering av experimentmiljöns nätverk på lager tre med hjälp av VRF. I detta nätverk utfördes även ett kontrollexperiment utan logisk separation för att skapa en baseline samt ett experiment där separering utfördes med hjälp av accesslistor.

Denna uppsats berör luftrumssamordning och dess svårigheter i kris och under krig. I en tid då alltfler vill utnyttja luftrummet är det av vikt att detta kan samordnas utan risk för vådabekämpningoch kollisioner. Vidare måste den valda luftrumsstrukturen ge möjlighet till befälhavaren attmaximera sina insatser utan begränsningar. Denna uppsats belyser anledningarna till varförluftrumssamordning och kontroll av luftrummet är viktig genom att ge ett antal historiska exempeloch dra slutsatser av dessa. Inledningsvis ges också en historisk återkoppling om vikten av attkunna samordna luftrummet.

The purpose of the essay has been to examine representations of immigrants in contemporary library and information science research in a Scandinavian context. By analyzing nine articles from the past decade we examine the perceptions that exist in the concepts of multiculturalism, culture, race, ethnicity, religion, gender and whiteness and what role and importance the library as a place is assigned in relation to immigrants as a user group. Our study consists of a qualitative text analysis, a critical oriented close reading method based on critical race and whiteness studies and intersectional theory. We have, with the help of Sara Ahmed´s theories of hegemonic whiteness, demonstrated how multiculturalism is partly presented as something desirable and good, partly as something potentially threatening.The discourse of multiculturalism can be said to express the notions of the other, which in the source material manifests itself by ascribing otherness to immigrants. We have, for example, examined how ethnical and cultural differences are highlighted by a separation of East and West, the library?s educational and assisting role in relation to immigrants as a user group as well as representations of whiteness, gender and clothes.

Religion is not only manifested in the more traditional forms such as church attendance, but also in various expressions on social media. Facebook is seen by many as creating a social platform where different opinions and more unconventional discussions may flourish unlike how the traditional media convey information. Internet is therefore an interesting platform for investigating how information about religion is spread by researching religious behavior and expression. The focus of this essay is to examine visible, which includes text as a social practice, forms of religious expression shown by the discursive struggle between the Facebook-group Christian Women Against Femen and its counterpart feminist movement Femen. The essay seeks to answer how notions of femininity on the Internet are formulated and reproduced based on the discourse between these two women's movements.The essay highlights how the women?s movements, with their bodily manifestation and by their usage of words, construct and reproduce different images of gender and womanhood.

Along with the rapid expansion of wind power in Sweden during the last decades the competition about favorable areas has hardened. This among other reasons has caused the projectors to look into development of wind power in forests. There are several aspects regarding fatigue loads on the constructions that are severe in complex terrain, among which turbulence is one. The levels of turbulence which are accepted in order for the turbines to face a life length exceeding 20 years are regulated by the International Electrotechnical Commission, (IEC). In order to keep the turbulence below these levels there are three major steering tools to use: The ambient turbulence decreases with height and can therefore be regulated by the hub height of the turbines.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur några elever i årskurs 1 skapar förståelse för vad en teknisk artefakt är och vidare hur eleverna ges möjlighet till detta genom att läraren använder variationsmönster under ett lektionstillfälle. Materialet har samlats in genom en learning study vilket innebär att vi har genomfört en praxisnära undersökning. Vi har i studien agerat både forskare och lärare; observerat, planerat och bedrivit undervisning samt analyserat empirin. Vi har studerat tre lektionstillfällen i tre olika grupper med fokus på att tillsammans med eleverna skapa en definition av vad en teknisk artefakt är. Med hjälp av för- och eftertester har vi även undersökt elevernas uppfattningar om tekniska artefakter före och efter lektionstillfället.

The transition from having been under another country?s control to becoming a democratic country can, many times, pose difficulties, which has proven itself to be quite common. Estonia and Moldova?s processes towards a democratic regime are two examples of countries with varied success in the final transition phase.When the USSR (Soviet union) fell and collapsed in 1991 Estonia was well on their way from having a communistic ruling to a democratic one due to the fact that their democratic work had already begun a few years prior to 1991. After the collapse Estonia continued with their democratic work and in 2004 the country became a EU member state.

General principles of law can be defined as a legal foundation with the function of codifying basic values. They can also be of a character, which makes them useful as supplement and interpretation of law. EU has developed principles of law that can be divided into general and special. Within the Union there are existences of around twenty general ones. A further separation can be made in terms of institutional and individual.

The need for auditing originates from the agency problem that arises due to the separation of ownership and control in companies. The purpose of the audit is to increase credibility of the financial statements that management uses to communicate with owners and other stakeholders. In order for the audit to fulfill its purpose a certain level of quality needs to be obtained. The auditor can also be seen as a provider of a commercial service in which service quality is important. Audit quality can thus be separated into technical quality, which is defined as the probability that the auditor both discovers and reports a breach in the client?s accounting system, and service quality, which relates to the provision of services in general.

Detta är en rapport av ett examensarbete i Energiteknik, vilket har gjorts i form av en energikartläggning av företaget Martinsons Trä AB i Bygdsiljum. Vidare är detta arbete en del i NV Eko (ett näringslivsinriktat samverkansprojekt riktat direkt till företag och kommuner i Norr- och Västerbotten). Syftet med rapporten är att ge en djupare bild av hur energin används på Martinsons Trä AB:s sågverk i Bygdsiljum, genom att kartlägga energianvändningen på företaget, mer specifikt elanvändningen. Vissa prioriteringar gjordes utifrån produktionen, och delar av fabriken kartlades.För att kartlägga användningen av elektricitet har mätningar gjorts, data inhämtats och samråd med anställda hölls.Årsanvändningen uppskattades genom att mäta momentan elanvändning och sedan använda dessa siffror för beräkningar av totala användningen. Resultat av detta arbete innefattar statistik över kartlagda fabrikers elanvändning samt en rad åtgärdsförslag.

Antalet människor som känner sig stressade idag stiger i takt med det ökade tempot och de höga kraven både i samhället och inom arbetslivet. Därför är det viktigt att identifiera framgångsrika sätt att motverka och reducera stress. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka individer som bedöms arbeta i en stressfylld miljö men som inte anses påverkas negativt av stress. Vi ville undersöka vad dessa människor gör och hur de tänker när de hanterar en stressfylld situation på arbetsplatsen. Vi ville också undersöka vilka andra faktorer som påverkar deras förmåga att hantera stress samt hur de lärt sig att hantera stressfyllda situationer.

After a series of corporate scandals around the world the trust in the business world was damaged, probably most in the United States but also in Sweden. Voices were raised for an increase in the openness and insight into the affairs of the company whereupon different corporate governance codes were developed in a majority of countries. A Swedish corporate governance code was issued in December 2004 with the purpose to re-establish the damaged trust for the companies and the business world. The Swedish code was accepted by the Stockholm Stock Exchange as an exchange rule for A-listed and larger O-listed companies as of July 2005. The purpose of this essay is to study how the Swedish corporate governance code in fact leads to an increase in trust in the stock market and to study the companies? attitudes towards this code.To fulfil the purpose of this essay, the authors have carried out a survey among the concerned companies where the companies? attitudes towards the Swedish code were collected.
