During the summer of 2005 a number of steer producers in Skåne, Sweden, found that their animals graded less favourable according to the EUROP carcass grading system when slaughtered, than ordinary. The aim with this project was to determine factors that affects the production result in steer production and to find the reason to the lower classification. The project was initiated by Anita Persson, LRF, Skåne and was preformed with supervision from Ingemar Olsson, SLU, and Jens Fjelkner, Skånesemin. Ten producers of dairy steers located in Skåne was chosen for this study. The producers were interviewed to collect information about their steer production with respect to their planning and results.

Grus i maskineriet ? en fallstudie om förbättringspotentialVäxeln AB, a company that provide sales, service and repair of industry gears, has contacted the authors of the essay and asked us to investigate in which areas of the company that has improvement potential. Persistent improvement is a recurring and up-to-date issue that many business leaders not put enough resources on. A big problem in many companies is the issue that there is no comprehensive view and therefore some of the workers tend to not follow the routines that are required for the whole system to work.The goal with the essay is to give Växeln AB advice on to which areas in the company that have improvement potential.We have used a qualitative method with mainly semi-structured interviews which has led to an inductive approach. 13 co-workers that work in different areas of Växeln AB have taken part in the interviews.

Syftet med studien har varit att få veta mer om hur elever på en högstadieskola, som är så kallade korridorvandrare, upplever sin skolgång, och om varför dessa elever inte är i klassrummen. Korridorvandrare är elever som inte går på sina schemalagda lektioner, utan istället uppehåller sig ute i skolans övriga utrymmen.För att ta del av elevernas tankar, användes semi-strukturerade intervjuer med ett antal elever på en högstadieskola. Eleverna intervjuades en och en utifrån en i förväg framtagen intervjuguide, men där elevernas svar skapat olika följdfrågor som i sin tur gett olika intressanta svar. Resultatet av studien visade bland annat på att relationerna mellan skolans personal och eleverna var oerhört viktig, då eleverna ändå menade att de trivdes i skolan och alla de intervjuade eleverna hade någon vuxen på skolan som de kunde prata mer med och som de kände tillit för. Vidare var elevernas önskan att skolan skulle ha mindre grupper, mindre klasser, så att eleverna lättare kunde få den hjälp de kände att de behövde av lärarna. .

The aim of this study is to analyze the justification of a financial incentive that rewards students who rapidly finish their studies within the language education ?Swedish for immigrants? (sfi). Thereby, we want to see what assumptions are made about the students, and relate this to experiences of the education at a local level. We applied a text analysis on a government bill about the incentive, which showed that the deficiencies in the education are said to be caused by the students? lack of effort.

In July 2011, new regulations regarding school libraries came into effect through a new education act for Swedish schools. The wording of the Act has been the basis of much discussion in which the concepts of "school library" and "access" makes it difficult to build consensus among different parties, why this can cause difficulties in ultimately construct equal access to school library. The purpose of this survey is to examine the interpretations and practices that exist around the school library and its functions among primary school principals. The principals have been selected on the basis that they themselves (the schools) already indicated that they do not have access to their own school library within the school premises. As a theoretical starting point, I used the school library researcher David Loertscher?s taxonomy for school leaders.

Aktörerna på aktiemarknaden strävar ständigt efter att öka värdet på sina placeringar. Värdet på dessa beror på hur företagets ekonomiska ställning ser ut. Aktörernas ambition att försöka öka värdet på sina placeringar förekommer främst på marknader som sägs vara effektiva.

Den här studien fokuserar på Östergötlands fotbollförbund och hur de jobbar med talangutveckling och talangidentifikation . Forskning betonar ofta de individuella faktorerna när det gäller den enskilda idrottaren men tar inte hänsyn till de kontextuella förhållandena som finns. Studien belyser även om det görs några skillnader i arbetet beroende på om det är pojk- eller flickfotboll. Forskning idag visar att pojkar och flickor utvecklas olika men tränar de på samma sätt och på samma saker? Sex stycken semi-strukturerade intervjuer har gjorts med personer, med olika roller inom förbundet, både på pojk- och flicksidan för att få klarhet i hur de ser på begreppen samt hur de jobbar med talangutveckling och talangidentifikation.

The aim of this study was to understand how evaluations are implemented and used in procured nursing homes for elderly. Our methodological approach consisted of a single-case study research. The case in this study was Växjö municipality. Three procured nursing homes for elderly were chosen in the municipality as examples of implementation and use of evaluation. The method for retrieving empirical data and the analyzing of it was based on triangulation.

This is a thesis in Personal- och Arbetslivsprogrammet at Dalarna University with thepurpose of evaluating an education initiative in Borlänge kommun. The educationCoaching Leadership is an initiative for the managers in the organization to exercisegood leadership and the education also serves as an incentive for managers. Eightbusiness managers and one from the HR staff have completed the training. Out of thetotal 9 participants in the training, six of them took part in this evaluation. Based on thethesis aim and questions we wanted to explore participants' attitudes to the education,and what skills and abilities they have acquired on the basis of educational goals andcontent.

Deliberate self harm as defined pathologically as well as socially is becoming an increasing phenomenon within forensic psychiatry. Nurses working with patients who have self harm behaviour and are confined to forensic psychiatry face different challenges which affect their feelings and attitudes in different ways, in their nursing practice.Purpose: To explore nurses? experiences of caring for patients who suffer from deliberate self harm behaviour and are confined to forensic psychiatry.Method: Qualitative semi- structured interview s from eight nurses working within the forensic psychiatric clinic. Interviews were analysed by using a qualitative content analysis.Results: They worked strategically and emphasized the importance of teamwork, good communication and urged for the need to get necessary education, staff focused tutoring and patient focused therapy.Conclusion: Need for necessary education, patient focused therapy and staff focused tutor is needed to empower staff working with patients who are confined within forensic psychiatry and suffer from deliberate self harm behaviour..

The aim with this essay was that on the basis of the care staff?s interpretations study how the unaccompanied refugee children consider cultural differences in the Swedish society and how it influenced the children. The study was carried out through six qualitative interviews with care workers at a municipal group accommodation for unaccompanied refugee children in the south of Sweden. The individual interviews were semi-structured and built on a list of questions with different subjects that were linked to the aim and question formulation for the essay. The analysis was carried out from Lazarus theory about coping and Antonovsky?s theory about ?SOC?, sense of coherence, with focus on the three components, comprehensibility, manageability and meaningfulness.

The aim of this study was to examine the knowledge and the experience that school counsellors have about tics and Tourette syndrome. This study is based on a qualitative research which we conducted with semi-structured interviews. We have done five interviews with different school counsellors in a small municipality in southern Sweden. The theoretical approach that was used in this study was theory of knowledge as a comprehensive theory and professional competence which includes formal knowledge and tacit knowledge. Some of the study?s conclusions are that the School Counsellors had different professional competence about tics and Tourette syndrome.

Having an intranet as a source for information and communication is common in most contemporary organizations. Research shows that the intranet in itself does not have an explicit area of use, and that leaves every organization to make decisions of the associated functionality on their own. At the same time the strategic opportunities that the intranet could bring get lost somewhere along the way. This means that problems regarding the strategic use of an intranet becomes apparent and may result in loss of investments for the organization. The purpose of this thesis is to identify central choices that can be used as points of discussion and help organizations to work with their intranets on a more strategic level.

The purpose of this study was to examine how pre-school teachers in Montessori inspired and traditional preschools can work with build and construction with the older children, and what views the pre-school teachers might have on the subject.  The study was implemented through qualitative semi-structured interviews with pre-school teachers. The investigational method was chosen due to the fact that I wanted to gain knowledge about the pre-school teachers? views and perspectives on build and construction activities, and how they might work with it. Another reason was to examine how the view on, and the work with build and construction can resemble and differ between Montessori inspired pre-schools and traditional pre-schools.The result shows that there is both similarities and diverseness between the Montessori influenced pre-schools and the traditional pre-schools, when it comes to how the pre-school teachers reason and work with build and construction.

Studien har haft som syfte att genom exempel belysa hur skola respektive socialtjänst arbetar med ungdomar med avvikande beteende. För att därigenom undersöka om- och hur samverkan myndigheterna emellan kan förbättra möjligheterna för psykosocial behandling av dessa ungdomar. Studien har en hermeneutisk ansats och har utgått ifrån den kvalitativa forskningstraditionen. Insamlandet av empirin har skett igenom intervjuer i en mindre- respektive en medelstor kommun. Semi-strukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med två representanter ifrån varje myndighet, dessa intervjuer har sedan tolkats med en kvalitativ innehållsanalys.
