The Sitting while waiting for sustainability project goal was to make a functional model for a resting chair and to make it by using furniture and artefacts as material. A try of understanding the process of re-design and to use it to design was driving the project through. The result was a prototype made out of a bed frame and 18 pair of jeans and with details made out of leather..

This work is about getting to know tufting as a technique and to design tufted products for home furnishing.It all began in Finland, where during springtime 2004, I got in contact with the technique oftufting for the first time. A very pleasant meeting that resulted in two carpets and a longing to continueand learn more. It was then that an idea for my final project started to take form. My wish was to designtufted ?floor jewelleries? and cushions.I made a base for my project during a design project in autumn 2004.

AbstractWe have been honored to work with a company called Frimeko AB. Frimeko is located in Halmstad where they make and sell furniture for school and office environment. Our task is to construct a new, more modern sewing machine table for schools. The task is to use the same function as before, ease the storage and production of sewing machine.Efforts to develop the new sewing machine table resulted in that we came up with an innovative design that the company is pleased with.During this project the group has used the method from ?Fredy Olsson Konstruktion? .

This report describes and explains the development of a comprehensive solution including visual identity, print catalog, website and online shop for the furniture company Resize Design. The development and production of these have occurred in the iterative processes with relevant theories as a basis. The theories include user-centered work processes, usability, design principles, interaction design, design patterns and web-compatible solutions. The report documents and discusses the work which is divided into different phases. .

Det här är ett kandidatarbete på 15Hp som beskriver arbetsprocessen bakom mitt bidrag till tävlingen Street furniture light. Arbetet beskriver litteraturstudie, inventering, analys, skissprocess samt mitt vidareutvecklade förslag.I det här arbetet använder jag mig av funktionsanalys för att finna vilka funktioner som en gatumöbel kan ha i olika sammanhang. Det är till stor del resultatet av funktionsanalysen som ligger till grund för de idéskisser som presenteras i arbetet.Den idé som jag har vidareutvecklat och sammanställt som ett tävlingsbidrag är ett cykelställssystem där belysningen framhäver cykelställets rumsskapande kvalitéer. I diskussionsavsnittet reflekterar jag över min egen designprocess och hur det här projektet skiljer sig från den typen av gestaltning som jag är van vid under utbildningen.

The streetscape is a complex environment with a lot of different parts and users. If you look at the streetscapes main parts you have floor, walls, roof and furniture. The floor in the streetscape, the street, consists of the ground and the paving. It can be made of a lot of different materials with both architectonic and practical functions. The walls usually consist of the houses. They have a big influence on the streetscape depending on architecture, heights and widths.

Mitt examensarbete, En pall, en mall, gjordes på Carl Malmsten Furniture Stiudies, Linköpings universitet, under våren 2011. Jag har läst om befintlig teknik inom formpressning och olika tillämpningar av mallar i samband med tillverkning av möbler. Jag ville utveckla ett system som utnyttjar både pressning och fräsning. Detta förslag ska kunna ligga till grund för att mindre snickerier med målsättningen att producera möbler av böjd plywood/faner kan göra det utan stora investeringar i maskiner. Målet var att all bearbetningen på varje möbel är möjlig utan något annat utöver en vanlig överhandsfräs..

In my thesis I have sand blasted different type of woods - ring-porous and diffuseporous deciduous tree species and conifers - to show different results depending on the species, the direction of the grain and the effects of surface treatment of a blasted surface.The results of my tests were sometimes unexpected, such as that the sand from blasting almost completely disappeared, that all wood surfaces after blasting exhibited a much lighter or paler surface than before and that the diffuse-porous tree species showed differences in hardness between the beginning and end of annual rings.By creating a library of different kinds of wood and sandblasted surface treatment, I have created a reference bank that I will be able to use me in the manufacturing of interiors, furniture and other objects..

Projektet har gått ut på att göra ett flexibelt bord som ska kunna gå att förändra mellan högt och lågt och mellan olika storlekar på bordsskivan. Detta som en funktionell aspekt av föränderlighet men jag ville även införliva en emotionell föränderlighet. Jag vill att användaren, på ett handgripligt sätt, ska kunna uttrycka sig själv i bordet. A thesis directed towards Innovationsslussen in Gothenburg about securing, improving and simplifying sitting on the toilet for patients with sitting difficulties. The primary target group for the project is patients who have had a stroke and as a consequence from that suffers from various kind of bodily paralysis.An overall goal was to design an aid that was comprehensive enough that the patient could manage sitting securely on the toilet without have a nurse giving physical support during defecation.Five conceptual proposals were developed and evaluated in consultation with Innovationsslussen and one was selected to be further developed.The result was an integrated support at the toilet that facilitates a good sitting posture which minimizes the risk of falling and provides comfortable support when leaning to the side.
