The heating of companies premises is today functional with electrical heating and heating offossil fuel. The energy cost for these kinds of heating in buildings has heavily increased duringthe last years and the influence on the environment has become more visual. This leads to thatenterprises today become more anxious to render energy more effective and find alternativesolutions to their ancient heating systems. This is something that Skandinaviska kraftprodukterAB in Halmstad has become aware of.The purpose with this examination is to find the most cost-efficient and environmental measuresfor the office and workshop premises of SKP AB. Where one of the bigger things is to find agood alternative for their current oil furnace, which was heating the workshop.

The veterinary handling of wildlife, both in zoos and in the wild, commonly requires that the patients need to be captured and immobilized for examination or treatment. This emphasises the need for quick, on-site, laboratory equipment, in order to minimize the analysis time and thus the stress for the animal and also in order to increase the possibility of starting relevant treatment early on. The aim of this pilot study was to determine whether Serum Amyloid A (SAA) could be a measured in blood samples from bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus), Asian elephants (Elephas maximus) and South American tapirs (Tapirus terrestris). SAA rises to its maximum about 24 hours after the introduction of an inflammatory agent in companion animals. This also correlates with the estimated time it takes for animals at Kolmården Wildlife Park to be examined and having blood samples collected after being observed as sick. The study also evaluated whether the Eurolyser SOLO, using a turbidometric immunoassay (TIA) developed for human diagnostics, could be used for such analysis. This pilot study was a retrospective analysis of SAA in convenience sampled frozen serum, collected from dolphins, elephants and tapirs.

Ett vanligt problem för fjärrvärmeföretag är svängningar i den dagliga efterfrågan på fjärrvärme. När efterfrågetoppar sker i fjärrvärmenätet behöver fjärrvärmeföretagen oftast använda sina topplastpannor, vilka vanligtvis drivs på både dyra och miljöovänliga bränslen. Ett sätt att åtgärda detta problem har traditionellt varit att använda en ackumulatortank som värmelager. Men med ny och billigare mät- och styrsystemteknik har kommersiella lösningar börjat växa fram där istället byggnader kan användas som värmelager.Syftet med examensarbetet är att undersöka de tekniska och ekonomiska möjligheterna för att använda byggnader som värmelager i ett fjärrvärmesystem och jämföra det med att använda en ackumulatortank som värmelager. Det förs en diskussion om hur ett samarbete skulle kunna se ut mellan fjärrvärmeföretag och fastighetsägare för att möjliggöra användningen av byggnader som värmelager.

Detta examensarbete utreder lönsamheten i en systemlösning för termiskt akviferenergilager tillsammans med ny VVS-teknisk lösning i fastigheterna kv Hästskon 9 och 12 vid en föreslagen framtida helrenovering. Dessutom utreds förutsättningar för miljöklassning i energi- och miljöcertifieringssystemet Miljöbyggnad avseende energianvändning, dagsljuskomfort, solvärmelast och termisk komfort för om- och tillbyggnadsförslaget med målsättning på nivå GULD.Genom att utnyttja akviferen under fastigheterna kvarteret Hästskon 9 och 12 idag kan man åstadkomma mycket låg energianvändning med en säsongsenergiverkningsgrad via kylmaskiner för värme- och kylaförsörjning på 5,6. En LCC-kalkyl visar att det finns en energikostnadsbesparing för fastighetsägaren Vasakronan omkring 3,65 MSEK per år jämfört med dagens situation om den beskrivna akviferlösningen används. Det ger en återbetalningstid om cirka 4,5 år på investeringen som måste göras. Energiklassning i Miljöbyggnadssystemet för befintliga fastigheter är troligtvis möjlig utan andra åtgärder än akviferlagersystemet, men då med BRONS eller möjligtvis SILVER nivå.Vid ett framtida om- och tillbyggnadsförslag får fastighetsägaren cirka 13 000 m² ytterligare uthyrbar lokalyta för handelslokaler och kontor.

The Swedish carrot market is dominated by a few big companies and three of them stands for 50 % of the market. During the last twenty years the number of growers has decreased, the area and the harvest have increased. The big producers have invested in advanced and expensive postharvest equipment that fulfils the high standards of the food industry. Few carrot producers are members of an organisation and they keep contacts with there buyers one by one. The buyers are mostly wholesalers and these have during a long period of time decreased the number of suppliers.

Examensarbetet har utförts under hösten 2004, inom ämnesområdet Logistik vid Linköpings Tekniska Högskola, på Volvo Aero Corporation i Trollhättan. Företagets verksamhet består av utveckling och tillverkning av komponenter och reservdelar till, samt montering och underhåll av civila och militära flygplansmotorer. Volvo Aero har haft problem med hög kapitalbindning och har mycket artiklar med låg lageromsättningshastighet. Ett höjt tryck från koncernledningen på en ökad lageromsättningshastighet samtidigt med en volymuppgång har medfört en önskan om fler artiklar i lager och produktion på artiklar med hög efterfrågan. För att klara denna volymuppgång och samtidigt öka lageromsättningshastigheten måste de ta bort den del av lagret med lägst rörlighet, vilket har föranlett denna studie.

The building sector accounted for around a fourth of the total energy usage in Sweden in year 2010 (Energimyndigheten, 2012). Therefore it has become very interesting to achieve a lower energy usage in residential buildings. One way to achieve that is to build so called passive houses. By being very well insulated and have low leakage through the walls, they can reduce the energy usage for heating with a substantial amount. The first passive house was built during the 90?s in Germany; and in Sweden the first passive house was built in Gothenburg 2001.

Higher demands of competitiveness and efficiency have led to increasing sizes of farms, with more land, more capital and more comprehensive logistics. The aim is to gain benefits of scale economies that reduce the production cost per unit. However, a greater extent of the business exposes the farm of increased risk where small deviations rapidly can erase the benefits. A modern dairy farm thus put high demands on the farmer?s ability to coordinate, plan and manage the forage production through the whole process until storage to obtain silage of the desired quality and quantity at the right price. To achieve the goal of fossil independency in the Swedish vehicle fleet in 2030, it would be important to substantially increase the proportion of electric vehicles, both BEV:s (Battery Electric Vehicles) and PHEV:s (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles). The Swedish Energy Agency has funded numerous research and development projects about electric vehicles in recent years. An important task for the Swedish Energy Agency is to allocate state funds to those projects with the greatest potential to contribute to increased establishment of electric vehicles in society. The purpose of this work is mainly to understand the efforts and measures that can make the market for electric vehicles to grow. The report can contribute to a better understanding of how far the research on electric vehicles has come and what has to be done in the future to promote the establishment of electric vehicles. Another aim for this report is that it should serve as a basis for future decisions by the Swedish Energy Agency on which projects that will be funded with state funds.

Denna rapport bygger på en litteraturstudie och avser att ge en bred beskrivning av en teknik kallad LTES (Latent Thermal Energy Storage). Rapporten förklarar teorin bakom tekniken, behandlar de komponenter som krävs för att praktiskt kunna använda den, tittar på kostnader som är förknippade med den och visar på tillämpningar som finns idag och är förväntade inför framtiden. Vid LTES genomgår ett PCM (Phase Change Material) en fasändring vid en viss temperatur. Vid fasändringen lagras (eller avges) termisk energi i (från) PCM:et. Denna fasändringsprocess kan sedan användas praktiskt i olika produkter och system för att ge värme och/eller kyla efter behov.

Energy supply in Sweden year 2011 amounted to 577 TWh. The final energy consumption for industrial, residential and service was 379 TWh. Sweden has energy policy goals to reduce energy use in buildings. One of these goals is to reduce the energy use by 20 % in 2020 compared to the year 1995. An important step to achieve this goal is to target energy efficiency measures in existing buildings.

The number of inhabitants of the towns and city centers have generelly increased, concurrent as the population in smaller towns has decreased. In Stockholm, the migration is very fast and here is also the most populous place, if one compares with other Sweden. In order to respond to the increasing population and the pressure they put on city spaces has Stockholm's town a town building strategy that says "build inwards". It means that one stem seals the town with spaces and business activities in central locations. The increased population in the towns and the densification of buildings leads however to an increased pressure on parks and public places.

This report is made as a literature review, focusing on the work done to increase understanding of efficiency in the categories of substations and secondary heating systems, with respect to the deviation from the theoretically possible cooling off in the distribution network as well as the economic benefit that appear. The main purpose of a considerable part of the literature used in this report addresses the issue of identifying individual causes of reduced cooling in district heating systems. These literature resources have been compiled and summarized as part of the report.The technology of district heating is associated with benefits such as better use of the energy in a fuel. This is the case of cogeneration plants where serial generation of electricity and thermal energy increases efficiency compared with the parallel generation where heat is generated locally and electricity is generated centrally. Serial generation thus allows for lower primary energy demand.

Under lagring och transport av textila varor från Asien kan risken för mögelangrepp vara stor, något som sedan vid uppackning kan vara skadligt för hälsan. Situationen så som det ser ut idag kan medföra stora problem och kostnader hos textilföretag och att hitta möjliga åtgärder för att förebygga skador är därför av stort intresse. För att kartlägga problemen med mögelangrepp på textila material har både informationssökning och praktiskt arbete genomförts. Mögeltillväxt sker då det är gynnsamma betingelser med hänsyn till klimat, näring och syretillgång. För att mögeltillväxt inte ska angripa textila varor finns en rad förebyggande åtgärder som kan vidtas, åtgärder som alla handlar om att göra förutsättningarna på ett eller annat sätt ogynnsamma.

I dagsläget har världen en stadigt växande befolkning och där igenom en stadigt växande energiförbrukning. Med en växande energiförbrukning har det under de senaste åren uppenbarats diskussioner rörande samhällets hållbarhet och miljöpåverkan.  Samtidigt sker det en kontinuerlig teknikutveckling och människan är mer beroende av konstant elförsörjning än någonsin tidigare. Teknologiska framsteg, tillsammans med önskan att sträva mot ett mer hållbart samhälle med hög elleveranssäkerhet, har mynnat ett begrepp kallat smarta elnät.Till följd av att elnätet involverar en stor bransch råder det delad mening över vad som utgör ett smart elnät. Detta har lett till uppkomsten av olika definitioner och modeller av konceptet. I syfte att skapa en övergripande uppfattning har en litteraturstudie utförts för att sammanställa de huvudsakliga områden som utgör det smarta elnätet.
