Metso Paper offers a front-running range of solutions and services for the pulp and paper industry. At the baling unit, design solutions are developed for manufacturing and handling of pulp bales. The machines are continuously developed to satisfy customer needs. One big step in the development of the baling line was to remove hydraulics from the machines and replace it with electrical motors and pneumatics. This was not done on the folding machine which is still driven by mainly hydraulics.

Genomförandet av en sårbarhetsanalys syftar till att identifiera svaga delar av ett system för att på effektivaste sätt förebygga och åtgärda eventuella brister i systemet. Ett sätt att identifiera de svaga delarna är att simulera olika scenarier genom att använda en matematisk modell. I den här studien byggs en matematisk modell upp med hjälp av optimeringslära, en gren inom matematiken som används för att hitta ett optimalt värde till en funktion under vissa begränsande villkor. Optimeringslära lämpar sig väl for att studera flöden, så som till exempel Stockholms kollektivtrafik.Stockholms kollektivtrafik kan ses som ett flöde av resenärer som så snabbt som möjligt vill ta sig från en punkt till en annan under begränsade villkor i form av utrymme, tid och förbindelser. Stockholms kollektivtrafik förenklas till ett system bestående av 34 noder, sammanlänkade genom SL:s spårtrafik Och stombusslinjer.

För att Securitas AB skall kunna behålla sin position i Norrköping Flygplats är det viktigt att de effektiviserar sin bemanning och scheman. Detta krävs för att kunna uppnå kostnadsreduceringar som skall i sin tur ge dem konkurrensfördelar för att behålla sin position vid årliga upphandlingar som sker mellan kommun och flygplats. För att effektivisera sin bemanning och scheman skall teoretiska delar användas för att styra grupper och verksamheten bättre, teoretiska delarna är i form av schemaläggningsprinciper.Vid en effektivisering av verksamheten skall en optimeringsmodell användas med flera funktioner som möjliggör en heltäckande optimeringslösning för att generera den mest kostnadseffektivaste bemanningen för schemaläggningen. Ett tekniskt system som ett informationssystem skall även strukturera Securitas arbete effektivare med en bättre bokföring över de anställda samt underlätta tillämpningen av ett standardiserat arbetssätt. Vikten av ett standardiserat arbetssätt behandlas mycket inom LEAN-filosofin och anses viktig i detta fall för att få de teoretiska delarna och informationssystemet att fungera ihop.

The aim of this paper is to investigate what part film music plays in the creation of stereo-types in the production of Swedish cinema, in the 1990s and early 2000s. This period of Swedish cinema was largely defined through the visualization of life in the smaller provinces of the country. The results were reached through the analyzing of four important works of this era, representing different provinces and genres. The examined movies have shown frequent use of extreme characters and a somewhat hostile environment in search of an interesting story. The music is used in ways of describing class differences amongst the inhabitants and to set the gen-eral mood of the concerned provinces: an agent often working in the unconscious of the viewer in order to affect the final results..

This literature study assembles current knowledge about CODD (Contagious Ovine Digital Dermatitis). The aetiology of this disease is not completely known and to obtain a manageable overview, this study aims to summarize the knowledge from published studies and shed light on the subject. Search for literature on the subject has been made in the Web of Knowledge, PubMed and Google Scholar, and has been compiled in this paper. Footrot and ovine interdigital dermatitis are differential diagnosis of CODD and they possibly have a common role in the emergence of CODD. Several studies have drawn parallels to bovine digital dermatitis.

This paper is finishing part of the two-year master programme in Industrial Engineering and Management.Initially there was an inquiry of studying the queue-times that Fläkt Woods uses when they break down internal working orders. These times were assumed to be too generalised and does not apply to the actual value of the queue-times which generates incorrect data and delivery delays. During the work of this paper it has been established that it is not the queue-times that is the biggest problem. The problem is the shop floor control and the lack of manufacturing the right products at the right time. Therefore an analysis of the production planning process was made to bring forward the real problems.

This paper investigates whether there is a right not to suffer from poverty. The investigation is being conducted from the theoretical standpoint/view that only civil and political rights constitute justiciable rights and rights proper from a moral stance, whereas economic and social rights constitute mere political agendas or less.In the search of an answer to this question the content of economic and social rights, and thereafter civil and political rights will be outlined, followed by an inquiry of what should really be considered as rights. Finally, the arguments against economic and social rights as real rights is presented and scrutinized.This paper will conclude that the stated difference between the above-mentioned sets of rights is illusory and that the right not to suffer from poverty ought to have the same status as civil and political rights..

This thesis describes a method of measuring axial magnetic leakage flux in an operational hydropower generator. Axial magnetic leakage flux is the magnetic flux at the ends of a rotating generator, which goes through the stator parallel to the rotor axis. This flux can cause circulating currents in the stator iron, giving rise to losses, and can in the worst case overheat a generator, causing it to melt down. To measure the axial flux, and how it affects the generator temperature, a measurement system was constructed on behalf of Vattenfall. The system consists of search coil sensors and a signal-processing unit with amplifiers and active filtering.  To confirm the behaviour of the axial leakage flux and the functionality of the measurement system, a test installation was made.

This thesis is about how the library can help immigrants integrate into theswedish society. By studying leading documents of the libraries in Malmö,Stockholm and Umeå in search for how the relate to work consideringimmigrants and integration I have studied the library as a bridge betweenbeing included and excluded in the society. The thought is that the libraryopens the door to new worlds both for immigrants and born swedes toobtain knowledge about a culture different from their own.In my thesis I reached the conclusion that library on a day to day basisworks with the integrationprocess for immigrants. Although the leadingdocuments should evolve since they show gaps and seem somewhatmisguiding in their presentation of the libraries function. The librariesshould work more with analysis of the environment that they are active in sothat they are more individualized for the people around it.

Projektet kretsar kring idén om en lagringsform, utformad som en tabell, som inte är bunden till en specifik plattform eller ett specifikt filsystem och som kan fungera som en molntjänst. Denna lagringsform är dessutom mer avancerad än en vanlig tabell då den innehåller tre dimensioner.Idén kom till under en föreläsning om molntjänsten google app engine då det kort förklarades att de använder ett, av dem själva skapat, system som kallas för BigTable. Detta projekt liknar BigTable men skiljer sig då detta projekt är något enklare, öppen källkod samt att det är baserat på java vilket gör det plattformsoberoende.Syftet med projektet är skapa en enkel plattform för datalagring som kan användas som molntjänst där den underliggande tekniken lämpar sig för användning på vitt skilda system och hårdvara.Tanken med ett sådant system är att man med små medel ska kunna skapa en egen datalagring där den traditionella filservern suddas ut och det mer moderna molnkonceptet används. Genom att parkoppla servrar kan man i teorin skapa ett världsomspännande lagringsnätverk med enormt stor lagringskapacitet men är i praktiken mer inriktad på privata moln. Det spelar dock ingen roll om man enbart har en maskin eller flera hundra, för användaren kommer det alltid fungera likadant.Problemet som detta projekt tar sig an är det om datalagring och hur den kan lösas på ett sätt som bidrar till ökad ekonomisk vinst utan att minska på skalbarhet och användbarhet.Projektet löser även en annan viktig aspekt med datalagring vilket är versionshantering, något som andra tjänster inte erbjuder, tar bra betalt för eller som enbart finns i begränsad form..

The main purpose of this thesis is to examine whether the ISP (the Information Search Process) as defined by Carol Kuhlthau is applicable to Swedish University students. Qualitative interviews were carried out with students enrolled in their thesis course at the end of their university education. The selection is based on convenience sample of students visiting the university library. The questions are mainly about how to find out the experiences of the students when they look for documents at the beginning of their thesis work. Other relevant questions are about user-education, information literacy and what the students' opinions are concerning a thesis as a part of their education.

Vertical hydropower units has a rotating mass of up to 1000 tons. For the generator and turbine to work well the rotating system is required to be centered in relation to the surrounding structure. This is achieved by means of radial bearings. The dynamic characteristics of these bearings have a strong impact on the overall rotational dynamics of the total system and thus influence the vibrations in the unit. At Vattenfall Research & Development in Älvkarleby ongoing research is taking place on how the bearing parameters should be represented in the rotor dynamic calculations.

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether cannabis use can affect cognitive functions. The method that was chosen to answer the purpose of the study was a general literature review. Article search occurred in the databases PsycINFO and PubMed. Nine articles were selected based on the study?s inclusion criteria.

With the volume and availability of information increasing as fast as technological development in society a phenomenon called information overload has emerged. The purpose of our thesis was to investigate how university students experience this increase in volume and ease in access to information. In our study we concentrated our focus on the student?s use of electronic resources. So as not to prejudice our study group our questions focused on different aspects of searching for information.

In some postmodern philosophy and theology, the view of God has returned to the centre of the discussion. God is seen as a living reality beyond human conception. Some of the contemporary philosophers even relate to the negative or apofatic theology. They often do this as a contrast to the positive theology. The view of God in postmodern theology and philosophy is beyond our rational knowledge.
