I have also looked at their various nutrition policies to see how the guidelines for their work on diet and health look like.

Larvae of Lepidopteran Manduca sexta and Spodoptera littoralis are pests of economical importance in several horticultural and agricultural crops. Knowledge of insect feeding preferences and behavior is crucial in order to find economically and ecologically sustainable solutions to the problems caused by these herbivores. The aim of this thesis was to study the behavior and the induced feeding preferences in larvae of M. sexta and S. littoralis when reared on certain host plants. The hypothesis was that larvae of M. sexta would have an innate preference for plants of the Solanaceae family and therefore discriminate the previously experienced nonhost when faced with the choice between a true host and the previous food source.

Arbetsuppgifterna på ett fartyg kan innefatta hård fysisk påfrestning samt arbete i mörker, påhög höjd och i slutna utrymmen vilket betyder att sjöfolk måste vara lämpliga för tjänstgöringen.De nationella reglerna för medicinsk lämplighet för sjöfolk skiljer sig trots att deninternationella standarden är densamma för alla. Syftet med denna rapport är att åskådliggöraskillnaderna mellan regelverken om läkarintyg för sjöfolk i de skandinaviska länderna ochundersöka historien bakom de svenska föreskrifterna.Vår slutsats är att det skulle gagna Sverige att återinföra Sjömansläkare, som troligtvis är merkompetenta än en icke specialiserad läkare vad gäller tjänstbarhetsbedömning för sjömän.Systemet med sjömansläkare är fortfarande i bruk och fungerar väl i både Danmark ochNorge.Slutligen sammanfattas rapporten av författarnas egna reflektioner kring ämnet i relation tillresultatet. Ekförgiftning orsakas av att djuren äter antingen ekollon eller eklöv. Förgiftningssymtomen och skadorna orsakas av en substans som kallas tanniner. Tanniner delas in i två huvudsakliga grupper, de kondenserade och de hydrolyserbara. Det är främst de hydrolyserbara tanninerna som är skadliga detta beror på att de lätt påverkas av de enzymatiska processerna i våmmen hos idisslare, och de produkter som bildas vid dessa processer är vattenlösliga och tar sig lätt ut i vävnaderna. De skador som främst ses vid ekförgiftning hos idisslare är ulcus i gastrointestinalkanalen, akut tubulär nekros och leverskador.
