This essay examines the theme of blindness in the Gospel of Mark. The two main questions asked are: 1) ?What is Mark?s view on blindness?? and 2) ?How does the Gospel of Mark?s view on blindness inform the current discourse of disability studies and how can we interpret Mark?s view on blindness today?? By the methods of metaphor analysis and character analysis, four passages of the Gospel are studied (Mark 4:10-12; 8:14-21; 22-26; 10:46-52). The analysis concludes that blindness is depicted by the author of the Gospel as a disability which also consist of a lack of cognitive ability and a hopeless state that is in need of healing.  The depiction of blindness in Mark originates out of the authors use of blindness as a metaphor for lack of cognitive ability (Mk 4:12; 8:18) and the lack of characterization of the blind man at Bethsaida (8:22-23). This view on blindness is, in comparison to a modern view, difficult, as it marginalizes persons with blindness as inconsiderate and not fully human.

Universell Design - en användbarhetsutvärdering av MyTobii C-series Control

Universal Design is a well established methodology with the fundamental purpose of designing products to be usable for as wide audience as possible, without the need of special adjustment to suit the individual. In this essay, Universal Design has had a clear influence in both the process and the result. The IT industry is constantly evolving and it's more or less a requirement today for web developers to be familiar with and to be able to develop for all platforms. A technique that has taken hold and is now widely used is responsive design. Developing responsive design means adapting the layout to the viewing environment; the screen size. Another useful method when developing for different devices is the mobile first theory, which means developing for the mobile screen first. This is done to scale down the site and to clear unnecessary information in order to provide a better user experience.

The aim of this study was to analyse ninth graders self reported screen based activities, sedentary time and musculoskeletal symptoms and pain intensity. The other aim was to examine changes regarding musculoskeletal pain and inactivity between ninth graders from a cross sectional study in year 2004. To meet this aim, following questions were designed: How is the relationship between screen based activities, inactivity, musculoskeletal symptoms, pain intensity and differences between girls and boys? How have musculoskeletal symptoms and screen time changed since year 2004?Method: The method used for this study was a quantitative method. The research was carried out using a questionnaire that was answered by pupils from 11 schools from all over Sweden.

It seeks to answer what aspects of Japanese people two Swedish travelers chose to highlight, and how these aspects were presented in their travelogues. This thesis also has a second aim. By applying Edward Said?s theory of orientalism, it wants to answer if Swedish travelogues were influenced by western 19th century ideas of colonialism and imperialism.

Svaghet i andningsmuskulatur är vanligt hos neuromuskulärt sjuka, lungsjuka och hos vissa patienter som behandlas med steroider. Vid neuromuskulära sjukdomar utgör en progressiv försvagning av andningsmusklerna (främst diafragman) det allvarligaste hotet mot överlevnad. Andningsmuskelstyrkan kan mätas med hjälp av en spirometer, där det maximala inspiratoriska trycket (PI max) och det maximala exspiratoriska trycket (PE max) mäts med hjälp av tryckreceptorer vid en pnemotachograf.

Älvkarleby, landscape character and design proposal is a Graduated Thesis (30 ECCcredtis), in the subject of landscape planning at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, the Department of Rural and Urban Development. This thesis is a study and implement of the method "Landscape Character Assessment" (LCA), developed in England and Scotland as tool to analyse and highlight the landscape in different planning processes. The purpose of LCA is to increase the understanding and strengthen the role of the landscape. The thesis consists of three main parts: landscape characterization, guidelines and a design proposal. The landscape characterization emphasizes the values of the landscape in different types of planning processes, a documentation to base estimations on in any kind of change in the area. Theese estimations have resulted in guidelines that give proposals to the development of the landcape, focusing at the desingproposal.

En anpassningsbar applikationstruktur för flerpunktspekskärmar

Klassisk mus-interaktion har begränsningen att bara en punkt kan aktiveras på skärmen i taget. Interaktionen med de flesta applikationer blir, på grund av detta, sekventiell vilket kan vara en begränsning eftersom människan är van att utforska problem simultant med båda händerna. Flerpunktspekskärmar är en relativt ny teknik som möjliggör nya interaktionsmöjligheter där flera pekpunkter kan vara aktiva simultant. Det här examensarbetet fokuserar på problemen kring att skapa en applikation med användargränssnitt för flerpunktspekskärmar. Applikationen som utvecklats har en grundstruktur vilken är möjlig att vidareutveckla och på så sätt anpassas för att passa nya behov, till skillnad från de implementationer som granskats vid förstudien vilka fokuserar på att lösa specifika problem.

Antigens on the surface of erythrocytes in the ABO blood group system and regular natural antibodies against these in the patient?s plasma must be considered. An individual always has a corresponding antibody of IgM in their plasma. Irregular antibodies acquired by transfusion or pregnancy and active in body temperature also cause the HTR incompatibility.

Responsive web design : En studie i hur designkonceptet påverkar användbarheten hos en webbplats

The main topic of this thesis is to evaluate the impact on the usability of web pages when using responsive web design, a concept for developing web pages whose design adapts to the screen size being used. This is done by creating a responsive prototype based on an existing web site. A number of usability tests are conducted on the two versions of the site in order to compare the time to complete the tests and to observe the behaviour of the test participants. The tests are conducted on desktop as well as on mobile devices with varying screen size.The number of test participants was relatively low, and so the quantitative result is not statistically valid. However, the conclusion is that the most effective combination is to use either of the sites on desktop format.

Bakgrund: Evidens finns för att träning inriktad på neuromuskulär kontroll, styrka och medvetenhet kan minska antalet skador i nedre extremitet hos fotbollsspelare. Brister i rörelsekontroll skulle kunna predisponera för smärta, dysfunktion och skador och vara en orsak till skaderecidiv. Syfte: Att studera rörelsekontroll hos unga manliga fotbollsspelare före och efter en träningsintervention på elva veckor med särskilt fokus på ländrygg, bäcken och höftregion. Metod: Tjugo unga elitsatsande fotbollsspelare ingick i studien. Screeninginstrumentet The Matrix Movement and Performance Screen (MPS) användes för att mäta spelarnas rörelsekontroll före och efter en träningsintervention på 11 veckor.

Bättre användarupplevelse med responsiv webbdesign

The use of mobile devices has increased dramatically in recent years and the development of newtechnologies has made it difficult for developers to know what screen size and device the visitor isusing. This has resulted in the fact that today there is a problem with the interface for web pages onmobile devices. They are not adapted to the flexibility required for the interfaces to be recognizedon various mobile devices. Instead of developing two separate web pages, where one is designed formobile devices and one for desktop and keep them both continously updated, responsive webdesign simplifies the work process. Responsive web design is a flexible and dynamic interface thatadapts to mobile device and screen sizes.

Mönsterminnen - att skapa nya mönster av gamla minnen

This is a project about creating new patterns from childhood memories of patterns. I havebeen reaserching the possibility to add further value to a pattern in terms of memories, stories,associations and feelings.The goal has been to create new patterns from other peoples memories of patterns. It hasalso been my purpose to develop my skills and feel more comfortable in the creating of patterns.The questions at issu has been:How can I tell a story with a pattern?How can I communicate a feeling or a mood with a pattern?How does our memory image and an interpretation effect the process and the end result?I interviewed nine people. The questions during the interview was:Your name and age?Where was the pattern you?r going to talk about placed?How did it look like?What kind of feelings or emotions do you connect with this pattern?Someting else you whant to tell about the pattern?I created five patterns and during the process with the interviews I realised the importance ofshowing the stories in the end result.
