The aim of this paper is to elucidate and analyze history teacher's didactic choices in the conflict between unequal educational materials and the requirements of equality in the curriculum of Swedish secondary school. The empirical data consists of interviews with five secondary school history teachers, observations of their lessons as well as analysis of their tests. The starting point was to investigate teachers' didactic work in the role as a bridge between the non-equal historiography presented in textbooks in history and the curriculum?s demands for equality. Three different approaches have been observed in the teachers' didactic work when considering gender perspective into their teaching: that women become extensions in a male-dominated historiography; that another part of the story is presented when a gender perspective is considered; and that the gender perspective is included in history teaching and becomes an integral part of all the content of the subject.Several of the teachers acknowledged that gender equality is less prioritized than the courses core content and related assessment criteria.

Children with concentration difficulties are to a great extent a problem in schools and therefore it becomes interesting to see how possibilities around these children can appear in pre-school. From a pre-school teacher?s perspective, the study aims to provide a deeper understanding of how outdoor education can influence children with concentration difficulties. The method of the study is a qualitative research run-up with interviews that intends to describe pre-school teachers? views.

SammanfattningSyftet med studien var att undersöka den arbetspsykologiska vinsten i form av kontroll, stress och arbetstillfredsställelse av en utbildningsinsats med skiftlagsutveckling. En enkätundersökning genomfördes på ett stort industriföretag i Mellansverige. Totalt 65 personer svarade på enkäten, indelade i de som deltagit (experimentgrupp) och de som inte deltagit (kontrollgrupp) i utbildningen. Resultatet visade att experimentgruppen jämfört med kontrollgruppen skattade sin kontroll över arbetshastigheten högre. Likaså ansåg sig experimentgruppen bättre kunna förutsäga resultatet av sina beslut i arbetet än kontrollgruppen.

Stress är ett allt mer vanligt problem i dagens samhälle, och det finns tydlig forskning som visar att allt fler ungdomar drabbas av psykisk ohälsa. Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur ungdomar (18-19 år) på en gymnasieskola i Norrbotten upplevde stress och hur de beskrev att det påverkade dem. Två ungdomar valde att delta i studien. Dessa två ungdomar intervjuades och delade med sig av sina erfarenheter och upplevelser av stress, varpå intervjuerna bearbetades enligt kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Resultatet visade att det fanns ett flertal saker som bidrog till stress hos informanterna, bland annat press, krav och förväntningar på körkort samt ideal.

Denna studie behandlar sambandet mellan Antonovskys (1991) begrepp Känsla av sammanhang(KASAM) och stress samt hur dessa yttrar sig i förhållande till kön, ålder ocharbetslöshet. 168 personer, 97 män och 71 kvinnor, fördelades på tre grupper; arbetslösa för första gången, flergångsarbetslösa samt en grupp sysselsatta. Resultatet visade att personeröver 30 år angav högre KASAM än personer under 30 år och att gruppen sysselsatta personer upplevde högre KASAM än arbetslöshetsgrupperna. De förstagångsarbetslösa angav lägre KASAM än de som varit arbetslösa fler gånger. Det fanns inga könsskillnader, såsom antagits, och inte heller skillnader med avseende på stress eller energi.

Arbetslösa individer upplever stress som kopplas till ekonomin, lägre hälsa/självkänsla, depression och mindre behövda på arbetsmarknaden. Syftet studien var att undersöka skillnader i stress mellan arbetslösa män och kvinnor med avseende på om de upplever sig stressade av att vara arbetslösa inför sin omgivning. En kvantitativ studie med 84 arbetssökande; vid en arbetsförmedling i Mellansverige deltog i undersökningen. Ett resultat visade att deltagarnas självkänsla kan påverka stressen snarare än tvärtom. Resultatet visade att högre självkänsla kan dämpa stressen.

In all times school has defined and categorized pupils from a hypothetical normality. The National Agency for Education is today critical to how the municipalities provide for the necessity of special support for pupils with difficulties in school.Pupil`s assistants has been a growing profession in school during the last decade and their importance for the pupils is relatively unexplored. The aim of this study is to find out how the pupils think about having pupil`s assistant during the obligatory school on the basis of the ideas of power, knowledge, involvment and understanding. The study is based on qualitative interviews, consisting of half-structured questions, with eight pupils that have or have had pupil`s assistant during their time in senior compulsory school. The result notifies that the pupils feel powerless in school, they have no opportunity to affect and they do not think they are someone that could make any change.

This paper examines the amount of influence that upper secondary school pupils of the Swedish voluntary school system. The curriculum clearly states that democratic values are to be instilled with the pupils at an early age, and that the pupils are to have a degree of democratic influence over their tutelage. This paper is based upon a survey, which involves one hundred and fourteen pupils at the Malmö Latin gymnasium. The hypothesis argues that upper secondary school pupils in Sweden have very little knowledge in this area and it contradicts much of the previous research done in this field. The pupils´ ages vary from fifteen to eighteen years of age.The survey shows that the pupils of this school have little or no knowledge of their democratic rights within the school boundaries.

How schools handles threat and violence among pupils could have an effect on the surrounding world, since schools reflect society at large. This study attempts to explore how this is handled within two schools, one secondary school and one upper secondary school. How do the schools work with violence and threats amongst pupils? Who is responsible for what? Is this work based on school guidelines? Why/why not? The theoretical starting-points have been Lundquists implementation-based control-model and an organizational point-of-view using theories about open and closed systems, primarily Meyer and Rowans neo-institutionalism. This dissertation discusses head librarians in Swedish public libraries and the stress factors which affect them. The aim is to map out potential stress factors which head librarians come across in their day-to-day work. The purpose of the dissertation is to answer the following question: what stress factors affect library managers in Swedish public libraries? The dissertation was conducted through a literature study, informal interviews and a quantitative questionnaire. The results of the quantitative questionnaires show that the factor that produces the highest level of stress is having too many different tasks.

The purpose of this study was to describe the school situation of adolescents who were subject to multisystemic therapy in Sweden, and also if a change could be measured after treatment. Factors that preceded the need for treament were also investigated. The sample consisted of 83 adolescents, boys (65 %) and girls (35 %), with an average age of 14 years. The method used was a secondary data analysis using pre-treatment- and post-treatment data collected from a 7-month follow-up conducted by Lunds Universitet. Results showed that the adolescents were low in school performance and high in truancy at pre-treatment.

This paper presents empirical evidence on the determinants of interest rate swap spreads in Sweden during the period 1999-2003. The results suggest that the spread between STIBOR and the general collateral repo rate is positively related to shorter maturity swap spreads. The risk premium associated with commercial bonds is positively related to swap spreads of all maturities. A negative relationship is observed between the term structure of interest rates and swap spreads. The short-term interest rate is positively related to spreads with shorter maturities.

This study is about what teachers in primary schools say that they are doing to create a school for all.The purpose of this study is to find out what teachers in primary schools say that they do on their mission to create a school for everyone and how they organize teaching to achieve this. The study was conducted as an interview of five teachers from elementary school of different gender and with a qualitative method because it provides a great opportunity to problematize, interpret and understand the responses of the interviewees.The results show that all the teachers think that their mission is to teach so that they can give each student what they need to achieve the goals. This may not be every day but over time, they hope that all students feel that they get so much of the teacher's time that they need..

Swedish school system is today victim of facing competition. Today sees the school leadership the students like customers whom they depend to operate their school. But I have asked myself, what will be the new students see and how much this spectacle in both money and time that project will cost for the municipality and school teachers. The question is if whether the school will be better when the competition becomes school or just better marketed? I'm interested in how clearly ideologies emerge in schools brochures if we study them at critically and analytically way.

The purpose of this study is to investigate? how a professional librarian can support the work with pupils, age six to twelve years, in their reading and linguistic development? how the conditions at the school have to be for this to become possible? what kind of attitudes the teachers have, and how they relate to the impact of a librarian for the pupils reading and linguistic development.The methods used are analyses of steering documents concerning school libraries and analyses of the means of the local school culture. The latter has been carried out by literature studies and through interviews of eight teachers and two school librarians. The result of the interviews showed a limited insight into how a professional librarian can support and assist teachers and pupils in the work with reading and linguistic development. They also showed the influence of existing traditions and local school culture for the use of a librarian?s services, and also how all the teachers, once they have become used to the services a librarian can provide, now find their support invaluable.
