Funktioner och roller i skolbiblioteket ? En studie av två F-6-skolor i Växjö
The purpose with this study is to examine school-leaders?, school-librarians? and teachers? expectations and aims for their school-libraries at two different schools in the city of Växjö. The study is based on these five questions:· How do school-leaders, school-librarians and teachers think about learning?· What function does the school-library have?· What roles do school-leaders, school-librarians and teachers have in the school-library?· How do school-leaders, school-librarians and teachers experience the co-operation in the school-library?· How would school-leaders, school-librarians and teachers wish that the co-operation should be?To be able to answer these questions I have done thirteen qualitative interviews and studied literature relevant to the subject. Three different theories are used as a theoretical framework; the traditional perspective, individual constructivism and social constructivism.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine and present the programmes and activities of School Library centres in order to see what functions (purposes) they can fulfil in a municipality and also if and how they can contribute to School Library development. In order to fulfil my purpose I have made qualitative interviews with five librarians from School Library centres. The theoretical framework is primarily based on David Loertscher?s.

The purpose of this thesis is to describe how principals apprehend the School Library. In order to respond to this I formulated three questions: How was the improvement of the school libraries carried out in one municipality? Is the School Library experienced as a part of the schools organization? How is the use of the school´s library experienced? To be able to answer these questions, for the purpose of this thesis, I have studied relevant literature on school libraries, the school organization and literature on qualitative methods. I have made six qualitative interviews. The objects of the interviews were three librarians and three principals.

Fountain of Knowledge? The Changing Role of the Library at the Upper Secondary School Level. There have been many changes in the Swedish society in general, and in the school system and hence the School Library in particular during the last decade. The aim of this master thesis is then to study what students at the upper secondary school level consider to be the optimal School Library to meet their specific information needs at school. In addition to and in comparison with this, the aim is also to study the present conditions of the upper secondary School Library as described in documents, reports and other studies in this field.

The present study deals with the usage of the School Library for upper secondary school students. Is it a place for working or studying? The questions are:? What do the students say they use their School Library for?? Are there any differences between students in theoretical programs and students in practical programs with regard to their use of the School Library?? What are the features of the ideal library from a students? point of view? My study represents a user?s perspective. The investigation is both quantitative and qualitative. Eighty-two inquiries from four different classes, representing two theoretical and two practical programs were carried out.
Att starta skolbibliotek : En studie av två fristående skolor
The purpose of this master's thesis is to examine and compare the process of starting a School Library at schools which haven't had a School Library before, and to examine and compare the experience of this process according to the principals and the persons responsible for the School Library.I have examined two Swedish independent primary schools (age 6-15 years). I have made qualitative interviews with the principals and the persons responsible for the new School Library. In all, I have made seven interviews. As requested by the new Swedish Educational Act, both schools had recently started creating school libraries. One of the schools had recruited a half-time teacher-librarian and the other had no staffing at all.In the interviews, I have examined the attitudes of the informants towards school libraries, if this attitude has changed during the process of starting the School Library, the informants' experiences during this process and the informants' views on the School Library as an agent for student achievement.

The Purpose of this paper is to illustrate how schoollibrarians work with integration. The study is based on thefollowing questions:1. How does the School Library personal look on integration?2. The purpose of this study is to examine the role social media canplay in a School Library context, based on a theoretical model,called ?A new model for the public library in a knowledge andexperienced society? by Henrik Jochumsen, Dorte Skot-Hansenand Casper Hvegaard Rasmussen.The bachelor thesis aim to answer three research questions, theyare as follow: Which request of social media is there by teachersand pupils at a high School Library? The purpose with this essay is to study how children in the fifth grade experience reading in three different reading cultures; library, home and in school. The children?s experiences from reading are compared to expectations from library and school.Data, to this study, is collected through qualitative interviews in two focus groups and analyzed by using an idea analysis. The INSU-model, Information Needs, Seeking and Use, and Aidan Chambers reading circle in combination with a triangle of the three reading cultures are used as a theoretical framework. The analysis shows that children are using reading for different purposes in different reading cultures.

The purpose with this study is to examine what kind of support there is for school libraries at the selected independent upper secondary schools and how these schools ensure that libraryservices is available to their students and their teachers. The purpose is also to examine what attitudes the administrators of the schools have to school libraries and teaching in information seeking. A qualitative method with interviews was used to fulfil the purpose. As a theoretical basis of the study Loertschers taxonomies of the School Library media program and Limbergs three levels of pedagogic research were used and the interviews were analysed with these two theoretical frameworks as a background. The result of the study showed that neither one of the three examinated schools has a School Library which means that they use the public library instead.

This essay investigates the integration of the School Library into teaching in one of Sweden?s senior high schools and the effects of the new education act which gives school libraries a stronger standing. A second purpose is to investigate teachers? views on professional responsibility with regard to the development of information literacy. Through an email survey different aspects of library integration are investigated.

The purpose of this master thesis is to investigate if and how the School Library in Linnéskolan in Älmhult is working towards the learning goals that can be find in the different school documents that are represented by the municipality of Älmhult. This includes goals for the school, for the School Library and for the subject of social studies in the ninth grade. We also want to investigate if the School Library helps the students to reach the learning goals and if there are any factors that can be improved in the School Library. We have used an evidence based approach to define factors in the School Library that can be improved. In the chapter that describes our theoretical approach, we have also discussed three different pedagogical theories; teacher-centered teaching, individual constructivism and social constructivism.

The purpose of this Bachelor?s thesis was to explore how principals and school administrators work to develop their school libraries. To narrow our area of study we chose to only include gymnasiums run by the municipality and conducted four semi-structured interviews with two principals and two heads of upper secondary school. We formulated two questions: (1) what perceptions of the School Library and its functions can be found among our four respondents? And, (2) how do they work with developing the School Library? As a theoretical framework we used Loertscher?s taxonomy of the school leader.

This is a two years master?s thesis in Archive, Library and Museum studies, which purpose is to find out what ideas there are about school libraries and to get an idea of how informants interpret the new Education Act, which requires all students to have access to school libraries. Another intention of this paper is to highlight the potential rural-related attitudes of the responents. The study includes the sparsely populated municipality of Krokom and is based on interviews with librarians, the school director, principals and politicians who work there. The theoretical basis for this paper is Loertscher?s model för school libraries and a centerperiphery perspective.
