The purpose of this thesis is to examine and analyze how to improve the design of a Microsoft Surface SUR40 application. The application in focus was an interactive product browser developed by the company Spree, our external client. Spree is a multi-touch software provider, established in September 2010 and they expressed a need for suggestions for how to improve this application. Our work aimed at revealing how to make the application more suitable for several users and make it easier for them to interact simultaneously on the surface. From a qualitative standpoint we have examined how 17 users experienced the application.

Resultaten av testerna presenteras på ett överskådligt sätt.Slutligen dras slutsatser angående resultaten. Resultaten förespråkar inte en specifik metod, den metod somlämpar sig bäst för varje enskild sammanhang avgörs till största del av andra faktorer såsom frekvens avbesökare eller ändringar på innehållet som metoden söker igenom..

Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to give a contribution to the studies of what strategies those are of importance for challengers in consumer technological markets aiming for the market leader position. To be able to investigate this phenomenon we have chosen to study Microsoft?s second position in the video game console industry. In addition, we want to illuminate Microsoft?s competitive advantages, how Microsoft can take advantage from Sony?s setbacks and what strategies those are of importance for Microsoft in the battle of becoming the market leader.

This is the end report of my final exam at Medieteknik. It covers the planning, work process and review of a Flash based web application that I set out to do. The goal was to create a user friendly, interactive e-shop with embedded functionality for playing music, displaying rich media content and researching possible payment solutions, to enable buying music files online. The project involved creating the user interface, the programmatic functionality of a Flash client (an SWF file). Also, setting up an Apache HTTP Server and establishing a working ?bridge? between the Flash client and the web server with Flash Remoting components and AMFPHP.

Denna rapport behandlar en undersökning av olika lastbalanseringsalgoritmer i Linux Virtual Server. Undersökningen har gjorts i ett webbkluster (Apache var webbservern som användes) med tre heterogena noder, där operativsystemet var den detalj som skiljde dem åt. Operativsystemen som ingick i undersökningen var Windows Server 2008 R2, CentOS 6.2 och FreeBSD 9.0. De faktorer som undersöktes mellan de olika algoritmerna var klustrets genomsnittliga svarstid vid olika belastning och hur många anslutningar som kunde hanteras av klustret, detta gjordes med verktyget httperf.Undersökningen ger svar på hur ett heterogent webbklusters genomsnittligasvarstid och arbetskapacitet kan skilja sig åt beroende på vilken algoritm som används för lastbalansering. Resultatet visar att den genomsnittliga svarstiden håller sig låg tills en hastig stigning inträffar.

På Trafikverkets centrala funktion IT används Team Foundation Server 2010 för projekthantering. Utifrån detta system det är det möjligt att få fram mätetal som visar information om olika projekt. I denna fallstudie undersöks, med hjälp av intervjuer, vilka av dessa mätetal som kan användas för att visa en relevant bild av kvaliteten på ett systemutvecklingsprojekt. En modell presenteras för hur olika mätetal skulle kunna vägas samman för att fungera som en siffra på ett projekts kvalitet/hälsa. Till sist utvärderas om mätetal från TFS är tillräckliga för att ge en bra bild av kvaliteten på ett systemutvecklings-projekt.

The communicating home concept has been defined byidentifying the dominating communication technologiesto/from and in the homes, the most important customerbehavior and user needs, the dominating products and thedominating actors of the industry.The evaluation of the communicating home industry has beenperformed with a five forces framework analysis and theoriesregarding value migration and value structures of industries. Ithas been concluded that actors of communication technologies,goods and access services will compete fiercely. The barriersof entry will however be high. When it comes to contentservices the situation is completely different. These actors will,to the largest extent, meet lower competition and low barriersof entry.

Theoretically, when an organization grows large it has to formalize its structure and exercise control by more regulations. The negative side effect might in turn be demotivated employees (machine bureaucracy). However, practice seems to contradict theory. Therefore, we decided to investigate how a large company, in this case Microsoft, succeeds in creating motivation despite some machine bureaucratic tendencies. The essential findings are that the employees feel motivated by the fact that they are allowed freedom with responsibility.

Servervirtualisering har blivit en allt vanligare syn inom IT-världen och särskilt för de som har stora serverparker eller för verksamheter som är ute efter att effektivisera och skära ner på sina kostnader. Eftersom att virtualisering tillåter konsolidering av hårdvara leder detta till en lägre energiförbrukning och behovet av stora lokaler minskar. Med servervirtualisering går det att köra samma arbetsbelastning på mindre antal servrar än det behövdes innan bytet till servervirtualisering.Då det kan vara svårt att hålla reda på vad ett virtualiseringssystem har för egenskaper och funktioner har vi i denna studie valt att göra en jämförelse mellan tre marknadsledande hypervisors från: VMware, Microsoft och Citrix. Innan jämförelsen redovisas i studiens tabeller presenteras en övergripande teoridel kring servervirtualisering och sedan en genomgång av de kategorier som ligger i fokus för jämförelsen.Studien kommer också att visa på hur en P2V-migrering går till med två av studiens virtualiseringssystem. En fysisk server med Windows Server 2012 som har webbserverollen installerad migrerades utan problem till en virtuell maskin på respektive virtualiseringssystem.

Thule Sweden AB utvecklar, tillverkar och marknadsför kompletta och funktionella lasthållarsystem för bilar. De erbjuder en mycket stor bredd av olika lasthållare till över 1500 bilmodeller. De tillverkar lasthållare som cykelhållare, boxar, skidhållare, hållare för vattensport och andra tillbehör. För att en bil skall kunna bära en takbox måste det tillverkas en lasthållare som placeras mellan biltaket och takboxen. En del i denna lasthållare kallas för takbleck och dess form tas fram med en speciell takskanner vilken analyserar biltakets form vid kanterna.Till detta har en mjukvara tagits fram som Thule kan använda för att söka/lägga till/redigera takbleck, istället för att manuellt söka i en pärm bland 700 olika ritningar.

ABSTRACT This essay is about traffic analysis of Web servers. The purpose is to investigate if companies analyse the traffic on the Web server and if they use this information to create more than simple statistic reports. The questions that we will answer are the following: ? How common is traffic analysis on the Web server among companies? ? Is the Web administrator limited in analysing the Web traffic, if the company has the website on a Web hotel? ? Does the company uses the results they get from analysing the traffic on the Web server for updates and changes on the Web page? To answer these questions we made a questionnaire investigation by telephone interviewing the companies? webmasters. The extent of the investigation was 20 companies in Blekinge.

The mainpart of this thesis is about the developing of a new analysis tool to be used in Zenicor Medical Systems AB ECG-system. The primary task of the system is to simplify the ECG survey for patients who suffers from different kinds of arrythmias, for example heart fibrillation. With this system is it possible for the patients to do their ECG survey by them self at home and then send the signal with their telephone or mobilphone to a server. The equipment used to do the survey is not bigger than you can have it in a pocket and this results in a bigger flexibility for the patient. A doctor can connect to the server and analys the ECG-curve and follow up the patients condition..

Sociala nätverk tar stor plats på Internet genom virtuella communities. Användare har en större möjlighet att nå dem via mobila lösningar och därmed göra dem till mobila communities. Kriterierna som ligger till grund för framgång för virtuella communitiesvill vi applicera på mobila communities. För att undersöka dessa kriterier, och bakomliggande faktorer, har vi valt att titta på ?tidigt bruk? användning av en mobil community, Facebooks mobila portal med hjälp av Technology Acceptance Model (TAM).

Examensarbetet handlade om att integrera Microsoft Outlook 2003 med EBI Systems plattform Platina. Vill du veta mer om Platina så finns det information i Bilaga E. Målet med examensarbetet var att få tillgång till filer och funktioner från Platina i MS Outlook. Användaren av Outlook skulle även kunna spara e-post direkt till Platina databasen på olika sätt, till ärenden, till handlingar och till vanliga mappar.
