Produktion och dimensionering av träboj i vågkraft
This thesis gives suggestions as to how to design a wooden-based wave-power buoy. The thesiswas carried out at Uppsala University in collaboration with the Division of Electricity and AppliedMechanical Engineering. The product was conceived and developed taking into consideration anumber of requirements put forward by the supervisor, Magnus Rahm. The most importantdemands were that the material used should be able to withstand pressure from the sea withoutbeing damaged and that the production costs should be low.Department of Engineering Sciences, Division of Electricity at Uppsala University was visitedseveral times to discuss issues including the various ideas with the supervisor Magnus Rahm, andwith several people in the department. The work started by studying available literature in order to get background information aboutsuitable methods available for the project and to see how similar projects were carried out. Thereason for this was to get a better understanding of this particular problem and how to solve it.After consulting the supervisor, the group decided to construct four different buoys using fourdifferent materials.

The project was carried out by David Brocker, Erik Hallberg and Andreas Hertzman during the spring of 2006 and corresponded to 15 weeks of work per student. Assigner was Martin Larsson at Arexor and instructor at Karlstad University was Monica Jakobsson.Arexor has a patent to a construction of an electrical skirting board with moveable wall sockets, called Electrical Track System. The lowest parts of the interior walls along the floor are today almost always covered by a conventional skirting board. Arexors patented product replaces that with the possibility to move and increase the number of wall sockets by choice along an electrical skirting board.

Förekomst av meticillinresistenta Staphylococcus spp. på kirurgiskt behandlade hundar
Surgical site infections are a recurrent problem in veterinary medicine. A 2-5 % infection rate in clean surgery has been reported. During the last years the increase in methicillin resistant staphylococci has also taken its toll on veterinary medicine, demanding a stricter hygiene and antibiotic regime. The 2008 outbreak of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) at the University animal hospital, Swedish University of Agriculture indicated that that the MRSA problem was now a real, possibly zoonotic problem.Since the first dog, in Sweden, was diagnosed as a carrier of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus pseudintermedius (MRSP) in a study in 2006, the infection rate by this bacterium has increased. In 2009 (January 1st - December 2nd) the National Veterinary Institute (SVA) has identified 58 samples as MRSP positive.
