Film is a tool frequently used by teachers, but it is often limited to showing students how historical time periods looked like, or as a way for students to search for historical inaccuracies. The aim of this essay is to study whether it is possible to use two films based on the legend of Robin Hood as a way to teach students how to contextualize gender history. Through the use of film analysis and gender analysis of two different versions of Robin Hood, The adventures of Robin Hood and Robin Hood: Prince of thieves were analyzed. The study has shown that it is indeed possible to use film as a source material for the study of gender history, and that film can tell us a lot about the contemporary view of gender, masculinity and femininity. The didactical analysis concluded that there was no theoretical objection of using film as a source material; however, there are some things that a teacher should be aware of. Although film may be a good way to create a varied study environment and benefit students with reading- and writing disabilities, there is a risk that time-constraints and lack of knowledge of film and its methodology on, behalf of both teachers and students, may make it hard to implement.

View description: The purpose of this study is to investigate in what way the mother tongue language education integrates in a compulsory school activities and also which significance it has to the students who studies mother tongue language. My questions are following:How does the cooperation look like between mother tongue languages teacher, teacher and principal?How do students perceive the mother tongue language education?How does the mother tongue language education take place at the school?Method: This investigation is classified as a qualitative study and consists of theoretical points and empirical material such as interviews and observations.  Based on hermeneutic view of tradition which means that I interpret all my material.Results: My results of this study is that the mother tongue language education does not integrate with the other school activities and the mother tongue language teachers does not cooperate with other teachers or principal at this school. The reason for this is mainly because the mother tongue language teachers work situation. I´ve also seen that language has to do with the creation of a personal identity.

Denna rapport behandlar en undersökning av olika lastbalanseringsalgoritmer i Linux Virtual Server. Undersökningen har gjorts i ett webbkluster (Apache var webbservern som användes) med tre heterogena noder, där operativsystemet var den detalj som skiljde dem åt. Operativsystemen som ingick i undersökningen var Windows Server 2008 R2, CentOS 6.2 och FreeBSD 9.0. De faktorer som undersöktes mellan de olika algoritmerna var klustrets genomsnittliga svarstid vid olika belastning och hur många anslutningar som kunde hanteras av klustret, detta gjordes med verktyget httperf.Undersökningen ger svar på hur ett heterogent webbklusters genomsnittligasvarstid och arbetskapacitet kan skilja sig åt beroende på vilken algoritm som används för lastbalansering. Resultatet visar att den genomsnittliga svarstiden håller sig låg tills en hastig stigning inträffar.

Syftet med den föreliggande studien har varit att beskriva och skapa en djupare förståelse för vad det innebär att vara sopdykare i ett postmodernt konsumtionssamhälle. Den teoretiska delen i studien har bestått av Zygmunt Baumans teorier om konsumtionsliv, globalisering och postmodern etik. Material har bestått av fem intervjuer med två kvinnor och tre män som sopdyker regelbundet. Den metodologiska utgångspunkten har varit att tolka materialet utifrån ett hermeneutiskt förhållningssätt i tre olika nivåer. De begrepp som tillsammans utgör en huvudtolkning om vad det innebär att vara sopdykare i postmoderniteten är: En ambivalent konsumtion, alternativa kicksökare, den kollektiva gemenskapen, tänk globalt ? agera lokalt, den gode stråtrövaren och gammaldags moral.

The general objective of this qualitative study is to analyse and describe what people with psychiatric disabilities write on their blogs about their encounters with social workers. The questions the study is aiming to answer are: How do people with psychiatric disabilities describe their encounters with social workers? Do the informants describe instances of paternalism and advocacy? How do the informants describe their sense of meaningfulness, comprehensibility and manageability? The study is based on a theoretical framework in which empowerment and sense of coherence (SOC) are the key elements, along with the concepts of paternalism and advocacy as well as meaningfulness, comprehensibility and manageability. A comparative study of students' beliefs about computer games, fiction reading and learning. This essay is part of a masters degree of pedagogy and investigates the experiences of 10 high-school students concerning playing computer-games-off-the-shelf (COTS) on the one hand, and reading fictional, printed novels on the other. The aim of this study was to learn more about the students' thoughts about playing COTS and reading novels; also, what differences and similarities there might be between these activities. Furthermore, I wanted to know what they thought they might learn from these activities. The theoretical point of departure for the study is twofold: Firstly, a theory of learning as expressed by Illeris (2007) and, secondly, a sociocultural perspective on learning, represented by Säljö (2000, 2005/2010) which includes the educational benifit of both playing COTS, represented by Gee (2007), and reading fiction, represented by Probst (1990) and Langer (1995). The method used in this study is mainly qualitative by nature.

Detta examensarbete jämför två övervakningsverktyg för servrar i ett nätverk, Zabbix och op5 Monitor. Båda är open source och används aktivt av organisationer för att övervaka organisationsservrarnas processorlast, I/O-kö på hårddiskarna, status på tjänster och mycket mer. Dessa två övervakningsverktyg testas och jämförs med varandra ur perspektiven användarvänlighet, funktionalitet och prestanda. Resultaten visar att i de flesta fallen är Zabbix mer användarvänligt medan op5 Monitor i de flesta fallen har bättre funktionalitet. Det visar sig också att op5 Monitor har något högre prestanda än inte bara Zabbix utan även de övervakningssystem som testades av Robin Rudeklint år 2010..

This Master thesis was written for Lantmännen Agroetanol in Norrköping concerning the layout of their finished goods inventory and unloading of feed after introducing a new product mix. Lantmännen Agroetanol has two production lines which produces feed. Both lines lead to six silos, used as inventory of finished goods. The feed from the two production lines differ in terms of quality, where as Lantmännen Agroetanol wants to separate their finished inventory in order to charge a higher price, by selling the better product as a premium. With two different feed products the yearly revenue is expected to increase which motivates a research about the current capabilities and necessary changes to be made in the factory.

In this essay I trace the historical theme in Djuna Barnes?s Nightwood, stressing the importance of the concept of forgetfulness in the text. Read alongside Nietzsche?s On the Use and Abuse of History for Life as well as his later thoughts on genealogy, the novel can be seen to concern itself with that same dilemma of history that he articulates in his philosophy. That is: how not to be overburdened by historical knowledge to the point where it petrifies life and prevents any real and novel action, and how at the same time, to make oneself conscious of ones own historicity, so as not to be governed to much by the past.I argue that Robin inhabits what Nietzsche would call the unhistorical state, whereas the other characters, in contrast, struggle with their relation to the past.

McKenziemetoden är en undersöknings- och behandlingsform för rygg- och nackbesvär som har utvecklats av Robin McKenzie, sjukgymnast från Nya Zeeland. Syftet med studien var att undersöka i vilken utsträckning steg B- utbildade sjukgymnaster använder och upplever metoden. Vi var även intresserade av att utreda med vilka behandlingsformer metoden integreras samt orsaken till varför inte alla sjukgymnaster fullföljer utbildningen. Enkäter skickades ut till 110 steg B-utbildade sjukgymnaster. Resultatet visade att sjukgymnasterna använder sig mest av metoden vid såväl undersökning som behandling av lumbalcolumna.

Barn som växer upp i stadsmiljöer är hänvisade till stadens parklekar och lekplatser för att leva ut sin lek. Dessa utomhusmiljöer kan se väldigt olika ut. Från ett mer standardiserat uttryck med tydligt definierade och tänkta funktioner, till ett mer naturlikt. Forskning visar på många fördelar med att låta lekmiljön präglas av ett mer naturlikt formspråk kopplat till barnens utveckling. Trots den väletablerade uppfattningen om att leken är värdefull för barnen präglas många lekmiljöer av den prefabricerade utrustningen som i sin statiska utformning begränsar utloppet för de vidlyftigare lekarna. Yrket som landskapsarkitekt, eller planerare av utomhusmiljöer innebär ibland att formge platser för barn. Det är av den anledningen viktigt att förstå barnens behov och betydelsen av att utforma platser så de passar dem så bra som möjligt. Robin Moore, hyllad professor i landskapsarkitektur vid North Carolina State University, har omfattande erfarenheter av barns utemiljöer och ett starkt engagemang i att stärka kopplingen mellan barn och natur.
