Bortom graven : En rumslig studie av Tjustbygdens rösen
Bronze Age cairns have been interpreted as everything from navigation marks to marking liminal places in the landscape. It has also been stated that the main purpose of their location is to be visible. This is something that has been taken for granted. The main problem is the cairns have been considered as a homogenous monument. With the help of digital methods like GIS it is possible to test this kind of questions in quantitative way.

This paper is called Bracteates and imitations of medallions - Roman power symbols in a Scandinavian context, and is about the use and functions of bracteates and imitations of medallions in life and death. The papers aim is to see what functions these objects had in life and death in Scandinavia, during the time periods of the Roman iron age and the Migration period. To investigate this, a collection of scientific papers was used to research two geographical areas of Scandinavia, regarding finds of bracteates in graves from the two periods. The geographical areas researched are Norway and Gotland. The archaeological finds of the two geographical areas are very different, so the conclusion is that local customs were clearly a factor in shaping Rituals where bracteates were used.
This qualitative research study aims to investigate how eight members of the Society of Friends (also known as Quakers) experience a divine presence in their Meeting for Worship. The purpose is also to find out how their identity as Quakers has been created, and to see how they look at their Meeting of Worship when it comes to ritual as a concept. The method used in this study is individual, semi-structured interviews and observations of Meeting of Worship. The results show a relatively homogeneous group of individuals from a secular upbringing who as adults sought out a community where silence is appreciated and used to achieve an experience of a divine presence. Berger and Luckmann's theories of socialization have been applied to the results and the discussion reveals how the secondary socialization has been essential in the process of forming the individual into being a Quaker. There is however one exception, in the form of one participant who grew up in the Society of Friends.
Kamratkulturer i förskolebarns lek
The research in this thesis attempts to understand what happens when children (3-6 years of age) interact with each other in the context of free play in two pre-school settings when adults are not involved. The aim of the study was to get a closer look at how children create relationships and how they protect and defend their interactional spaces. Data was gathered through ethnographically inspired methodology, using video observation to capture the everyday interactions of the children. Results were analyzed using a phenomenological approach to peer cultures. Previous research suggests that it is very important for children to maintain their interactions with peers and gaining access to play.

This essay includes an osteological analysis on the 1122 scattered human remains from The Pitted Ware culture site at Ajvide, Gotland. The scattered human remains have been found in the cultural layers, during archeological excavations at Ajvide between the years 1983-1987 and 1992-2009, where a burial ground was discovered. During the excavations, 85 skeletons graves were found, with complete and incomplete skeletons of 87 individuals. But aside from the graves, scattered human bones were discovered at The Pitted Ware culture site. One of the aims of the essay was to examine the bone material of the scattered human remains, and to determine whether this could possibly be a different type of burial custom than the skeletons graves.
This study examines how perceived accessibility and distance decay interact with social and psychological factors in the use of local sharing initiatives. The study is conducted as a case study of Fixoteket in Gothenburg, with Fixoteket in Hammarkullen as primary focus. Through five semi-structured interviews and five participatory observations at Fixoteket in Hammarkullen, Ranneberg and Fr?lunda, this study analyses which factors function as barriers and enablers for participation, as well as what benefits the initiative generates beyond resource efficiency through sharing. The results show that social factors such as community, a sense of belonging, and social Rituals around visits constitute the primary drivers for participation, while psychological barriers, related to competence, shame and digital exclusion are the most significant barriers. Distance decay proves to be a relative, rather than an absolute phenomenon, where visibility and social presence dictate the significance of physical distance.
