SUMMARYThere was no previous study in what high level dressage riders had for ideas of how to best prepare for their training sessions with an instructor. Neither any study of how high level dressage riders seemed to be more or less susceptible to the instructions from their instructor during their training sessions. If the sport had more knowledge about this, it might result in more riders on a higher level. The purpose of this study was to find out how high level dressage riders are preparing themselves for the best result for an instructor led training session and how they could bring as much as possible instructions from the coach. The two questions of the study were: How are high level dressage riders preparing themselves for a training session with an instructor, practically and mentally, and how can they affect their susceptibility to instructions?The study was carried out both by reviewing existing literature and studies in general education and pedagogy in the Riding education, and by a qualitative interview study of six dressage riders who rode on a difficult level at the competitions, during the year of 2009.

The aim of this paper is to analyse the social movement Planka.nu with reference to the theory of new social movements in order to engage in a discussion about the presence of ?old? tradition and ?new? trends. As well as empirical, the purpose is also theoretical and methodological: to examine, and extend, the discussion about new and old social movements. A qualitative method is used. The analytical framework is based on a combination of theories of social movements and new social movements.

Syftet var att studera elevernas uppfattningar inom Naturbruksprogrammets hästinriktning om sambandet mellan ryttarens kroppsfysik och ridningen. Följande frågor har ställts: ? Vilken betydelse ansåg eleverna att en god kroppsfysik hade för ridningen? ? Hur uppfattade eleverna olika pedagogiska metoders betydelse för ridningen? ? Hur uppfattade eleverna olika pedagogiska metoders betydelse för kroppsfysiken? ? Hade eleverna förstått att ridningen påverkades av deras fysiska hälsa? För att besvara frågeställningar har jag använt mig av en enkät. De elever som besvarade enkäten deltog i ett projekt, som genomfördes med hjälp av olika didaktiska metoder och övningar samt observationer. Projektets avsikt var att förbättra ryttarens kroppsfysik samt dess inverkan på hästen.

In part this paper is a contribution to the ongoing Swedish discussion about our public structures. The discussion has picked up speed in the last years thanks to a government backed committee trying to come up with a suggestion to make our public sector more efficient. A big part of the debate is about the independence and work of our municipalities, what they should do, what they shouldn?t do and when the state should step in and take over. I make a theoretical investigation into one of these issues, the one about job creation.

The purpose of this study was to gather knowledge about the functioning of the rein tension meter and test it for future studies of match and mismatch between rider and horse. We looked specifically into the possibilities to use a rein-tension meter to determine the quality of cooperation between horse and rider. We examined whether a rider shows a specific tension pattern and also if certain patterns could be recognised for a specific horse. During the study, a manual with pictures and text was written to support the practical use of the meter. The manual describes in a simple way the first steps in the installation and use of the meter.

The purpose of this qualitative study is to investigate how the welfare officer who works in the child and youth- habilitation is documenting in boys and girls journals. We also want to see if there are any differences or similarities in the journals on the basis of a gender perspective? The investigation is made from ten journals, five boys and five girls in the ages from 13 -18 years. The analysis which proceeds from prior research made on this area and from a number of gender theories and gender perspectives is based on a hermeneutic nature. The results show that the welfare officers make more documentation about the boys´ school situation than the girls´.

Sweden is a world leader in listed private equity and ranked fifth in the world in market capitalization. The sector is attracting increasing interest from the investment community. However, the private equity industry in Sweden has historically poor reputation and is criticized for creating value through high leverage, multiple Riding and severe cuts. This study analyzes value creation drivers in buyouts from the perspective of the private equity firm using a dataset of 15 realized buyouts by private equity firms listed on NASDAQ OMX Nordic Stockholm. The methodology used separates the value contribution of leverage on the private equity firm's return from internal operational improvements and external variations in transaction multiples.

Syftet med detta arbete är att undersöka om ridlärare och ridelever upplever att musik påverkar dem och deras ridning om musik används under dressyrlektioner. Undersökningen är gjord genom enkäter besvarade av ridelever på ridskola, ridgymnasium och eftergymnasiala ridelever som deltar i ett ridprojekt, samt genom enkäter besvarade av ridlärare. I svaren från undersökningen uttryckte eleverna bland annat upplevelsen att musiken påverkade dem och deras hästar både till avslappning och stimulans. Rideleverna upplevde även att det var lättare att hitta en bra takt tillsammans med sina hästar i sitt dressyrarbete under träningen med musik, under förutsättning att musikens takt stämde ihop med dressyrrörelsen. I varje deltagande ridelevsgrupp fanns det någon elev som inte önskade träna till musik.

As the number of inhabitants increases, the cities expand into the former rural landscape. The urbanization causes changes to the functioning of the peri-urban fringe. Land that previously was used for agricultural production is now used for alternative enterprises, as for example horse keeping and recreation. 75 % of all horses (approx. 200 000) are situated in the peri-urban fringe.

The Swedish Warmblood Riding horse is a popular horse for sport in Sweden, and the breeding goal is to produce competitive horses in both show jumping and dressage. The breed has its origin in native Swedish cavalry horses but has been highly influenced by foreign stallions throughout the years. Breeding values are estimated based on the results from young horse field test, which are held for 3- or 4-year old horses, and competition data. The young horse field tests are highly correlated with later performances in competition. The total proportion of horses with own observations to include in the genetic evaluation are slightly under 50 %, and in most cases their pedigrees are known.

In this study we have examined in which way the horse is used in Equine Assisted Therapy, and what effects the treatment staff experience and describes that the interaction with horses has on girls who self-harms. Our Empirical data was collected through qualitative methods such as interviews, participant observation and informal interviews with a total of six different informants, from five different activities with Equine Assisted Therapy for girls who self-harms. In the analysis we have assumed symbolic interactionism, a theory focusing on the human as a social being, where the self-image alters in the social interaction with other human beings. We interwove this theory with the Biophilia hypothesis, an explanatory model concerning human?s relationship to animals and nature.The conclusions we have found in the results are:Equine Assisted Therapy is a complementary treatment comprises both horseback Riding and exercises which is not based on the horsebackEquine Assisted Therapy almost always involves three parts, the therapist, the client and the horse.

Uppsatsen behandlar frågan om huruvida en totalt skattefinansierad kollektivtrafik med nolltariff kan anses vara rättvis och effektiv. Organisationen Planka.nu:s argument för nolltariff i kollektivtrafiken analyseras med utgångspunkt i free ridning-problemet och individens betalningsvilja. Den skattefinansierade nolltariffen jämförs med marginalkostnadsprissättning och tvådelad tariff, som är två teorier om optimal prissättning av kollektiva varor. Kollektivtrafik beskrivs som en klubbvara med vissa positiva externa effekter samtidigt som varans substitut väntas generera negativa externa effekter. I uppsatsen antas den samhällsoptimala mängden kollektivtrafik vara högre än summan av alla individers individuella efterfråga p.g.a.

Syftet med uppsatsen har varit att undersöka elevers upplevelser av tre grupprocesser samt vilken påverkan eleverna upplever att grupprocesserna har på elevernas kunskapsutveckling. De studerade grupprocesserna är groupthink, rollagande och free-Riding. Vi har valt att utföra studien genom kvalitativa intervjuer med fyra stycken gymnasieelever för att ta reda på deras upplevelser av grupparbete och grupprocesser. Resultatet av intervjuerna presenteras i kapitel 4. Analys i form av citat där vi även har reflekterat över det som sagts.

Suspensory ligament injuries are a common cause of lameness among sport horses. These injuries are expensive due to slow healing, extensive convalescence and high risk of recurrence. The prognosis has been reported to be everything from good to guarded depending on the size of the lesion and the location within the suspensory ligament. The purpose of this study was to determine how different factors such as age, use, and location of the lesion are associated with the final outcome after a suspensory ligament injury. Material: Hospital records of 27 horses treated for suspensory ligament injuries at SLU equine hospital in Skara, Sweden, between January 2002 and July 2003 were examined retrospectively.

The aim of the study was to investigate feeding routines, management, health and level of activity of Riding horses in Sweden. This was obtained by a survey requesting information from owners who kept horses at a non-professional level. Owners to approximately 500 horses were contacted and the usable response of the survey was 56 %. The dominating breed in the study was Swedish warmblood (38 %). Fiftytwo percent of the horses were geldings, 45 % were mares and 3 % were stallions.
