Public Sector Scorecard : en ekonomistyrningsmodell med kundfokus
The Public Sector Scorecard (PSS) is a younger version of the balanced scorecard, created for public and nonprofit organizations. The latest model of PSS is divided into three main groups and seven perspectives, while the balanced scorecard consists of four perspectives. Organizations who use either PSS or the balanced scorecard are supposed to have a clear vision spread all over the unit. This study has sought differences between the two models of financial control in both theory and practice. The first part of the study is a theoretical comparison between the models? structures and terms used in them.

Etiska och traditionella fonders avkastning : En jämförande studie mellan etiska och traditionella fonder
Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att utreda huruvida avkastningar mellan etiska aktiefonder och traditionella aktiefonder är likvärdiga. Vidare avser uppsatsen att klargöra hur etiska fonder definieras ur ett teoretiskt perspektiv med utgångspunkt i rådande forskning. Metod: Studien är av kvantitativ karaktär och utfördes med hjälp av fonddata inhämtad från respektive storbank och Morningstar. Det kvantitativa innehållet består av fondernas årliga avkastningar. Undersökningsperioden sträcker sig från december 2008 till december 2012. Teori: Beta, Sharpekvot och Modern Portföljteori. Slutsats: Studiens slutsats påvisar inga större skillnader mellan de etiska och de traditionella fonderna sett till avkastning. Introduction: How to implement and integrate cultural aspects in strategy making and planning in order for cities and regions to reap both social and economic benefits has been widely discussed in recent years. This method of working with culture, both as an economic, as well as an identity strengthening tool has come to be labeled as cultural planning. But in order for these ideas about cultural projects and institutions to become a reality, something has to be done. This is where the entrepreneur enters.The Glass Factory, a newly opened cultural establishment in the heart of the Glass Kingdom in Småland, Sweden, became the subject of empirical investigation for this paper. As this originally was an initiative from Emmaboda municipality the planning and start-up procedure could be viewed as a cultural planning process.
Pairs trading : En studie på den svenska aktiemarkanden, 1995-2004
Pairs trading is a relatively new trading strategy, the strategy has only been used during a couple of decades. A study made on the American stock market has shown that the strat-egy has generated a positive result. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate if pairs trad-ing has been able to create a positive result on the Swedish stock market during the time period of 1995-2004.The data required for this thesis was collected from Stockholm stock exchange and is ad-justed for splits and issues.The pairs trading strategy involves two stages ? identification of pairs and trading signals. The pairs were identified during a period of 12 months.
Organisationsförändringar : en ledares väg mot en lyckad process
I denna studie har det undersökts hur formella ledare arbetat i omställningssituationer samt vilka faktorer de menat är relevanta för ett framgångsrikt förändringsarbete. Syftet med arbetet var att studera hur ledare för omställningsprocesser arbetat för att kunna genomföra en framgångsrik process. Undersökningsmetoden har bestått av intervjuer med olika ledare i organisationerna. Detta för att få en inblick i hur ledare arbetat i dessa processer samt vilka faktorer de tog hänsyn till. Urvalet bestod av ledare för omställningsprocesser vid två olika företag, förtroendevalda från ett fackförbund samt representanter från Trygghetsrådet.

In recent years, the demands for effectiveness and evidence in social work have increased in all work areas, including that of healthcare. This has sparked the discussion on concepts such as practical- and theoretical knowledge and their respective roles in social work. In the light of this, the purpose of this candidate thesis is to investigate healthcare social workers understanding of practical- and theoretical knowledge in the working process as well as their respective influence and importance. This candidate thesis is based on three interviews with social workers from different departments in Norrlands Universitetssjukhus in Umeå, Sweden. To provide range to the thesis, the interviewees were chosen from a purposeful sampling.

The banking industry is a fundamental part of the economy in Sweden. Despite its importance, the competition and the concentration level within the Swedish banking sector is relatively unexplored. This paper aims to examine the development of the concentration level in the Swedish banking sector during a period of ten years, 2003 to 2013. The examined banks in the study are the four largest banks in Sweden; Handelsbanken, Nordea, SEB and Swedbank, and four selected niche banks, ICA banken, Ikano Bank, Länförsäkringar Bank and Skandiabanken. In order to examine the development in percentage change, there are six selected variables; loans, deposits and borrowings (both public and households), net interest income and return on equity, which are observed during a period of ten years.

JuniSyfte:Syftet med denna studie är att belysa hur de externa ledamöterna påverkar strukturen och processen i styrelsearbetet.Metod:Studiens syfte har besvarats genom kvalitativ undersökningsmetod med abduktiv forskningsansats. Studien har hermeneutiskt perspektiv och fenomenet som studerats anses vara socialkonstruktivistisk. Det empiriska materialet har samlats in genom tio semistrukturerade intervjuer med representanter från åtta olika styrelser.Resultat & slutsats:Studien visar att uppfattningen om den externa ledamotens påverkan fördelas mellan styrelser med formellt aktivt styrelsearbete och informellt passivt styrelsearbete. I styrelser med formellt aktivt styrelsearbete har den externa ledamoten en påverkan på strukturen genom att förändra sammansättningen.
Hitta Nemo - Hur effektiv var processen? : Offentlig upphandling av intensivvårdstryckkammare ur ett företagsekonomiskt perspektiv
Uppsatsen handlar om ämnet effektivitet i offentlig sektor. Dimensioner för effektivitet i en process undersöktes genom att granska den öpnna upphandlingen av intensivvårdstryckkammaren Nemo till Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset i Solna. Tidigare studier inom området har visat att effektivitet är svårt att mäta på grund av den offentliga organisationens komplexa karaktär. Samordning av det extrema händelseförloppet under upphandlingen samt resurshanteringen utmanade ledningen av projektet till en kreativ och krävande process. Upphandlingen styrdes utifrån Lagen om offentlig upphandling vilken påverkade att de utvärderingsmetoder som användes under processen följde efter reglerade standarder.
Konkursprognostisering : Tillämpning av en konkursprognosisteringsmodell på små svenska aktiebolag
Bankruptcy is a problem for the society in form of high costs for including suppliers, customers, employees, investors, banks, insurance companies etc. The purpose of this study is to confirm or dismiss a bankruptcy prediction model that has been developed in a previous Swedish study, in order to predict bankruptcy with help of specific key figures. The model has only been tested in a larger perspective where the population consisted of all small firms in Sweden, in this study the model´s reliability is tested by that it instead been applied to a minor perspective, where the population only includes Stockholm. With a quantitative approach of 12 different key figures from a total of 60 Swedish smaller registered companies in Stockholm between the years 2005-2007, has been studied. The companies are divided into two groups, companies with good financial health and companies that have ended up in bankruptcy.The results shows that the model is applicable in a smaller population, but some of the key figures do not generate essential or any type of information about bankruptcy, but the majority of the key figures in the model did.

The subject of this Master?s thesis is the process of change in a public library context, the implementation of the Stockholm City Library?s homepage Biblioteket.se. The aim is to examine the factors that influence this particular change and how they affect the process and extent of change in practice. The study designed as a qualitative case study is based primarily on document analysis, and supplemented by an interview. DiMaggio?s and Powell?s three mechanisms of change; coercive, mimetic and normative isomorphism, is applied.
Kaizen i praktiken inom Primärvården
The aim of the study was to support the ongoing kaizen work at a medical centre. Two main topics have been addressed in this study:? Find a solution to ensure that the kaizen decisions are followed and will get a strong grip in the organisation.? Support the kaizen process by giving advice on how to structure the meetingsand how the kaizen work could be done more effectively.The study started with a visit to the medical centre to observe the kaizen process and the attitudes among the employees. The employees were asked to fill in a survey about the kaizen work at the centre. The final recommendations given have been based on this and also information gathered from other medical centres which work after the same kaizen principles.

The overall aim was to examine how the public interest to protect children from violence and sexual abuse at home, is realized by social workers. The study´s central focus was the risk assessments as Social services are obliged to do when they receive a report containing concern that children are being exposed to violence or sexual abuse at home. The study addresses the following questions:o How do social workers go about practically, and what support and knowledge is being used to determine whether the Social services need to intervene for the protection of a child?o What risk and protective factors are taken into account by social workers in the assessment process?o What contextual factors do social workers experience are affecting them in the assessment process?o Which support does the documentation system BBIC provide in the assessment process?The study material was collected through qualitative group interviews, with a modified vignette methodology as tools. The study included a total of twelve social workers, with varying numbers in each interview group.
En fallstudie om en IT-process inom landstinget i Värmland : Ett föråldrat IT-system kräver verksamhetsförändring
Organisationsförändring behövs för att bevara hög effektivitet i organisationer när omvärldenförändras. För större organisationer behövs en tydlig avgränsning arbetas fram innanorganisationsförändringsarbetet startar. Landstinget i Värmland behöver utföraorganisationsförändringar på grund av ett föråldrat IT-system som används i verksamheten. Enmålgruppsanalys har genomförts av IT-systemet vilket resulterade i tre målgrupper. Intervjuer medpersoner ur de tre målgrupperna har genomförts vilket resulterade i data som användes till attanalysera och svara på rapportens två forskningsfrågor.
