There is an irregularity in the interregional migration in Sweden. An increasing proportion ofthe population is drawn to the metropolitan areas, which creates problems for the smallermunicipalities and towns when their population declines. At the same time, our whole societyis faced with a great challenge: we need to redirect towards a sustainable development, wherethe environmental issues are discussed and dealt with to secure that all present and futuregenerations are given equal opportunities to live a good life. The aim of this study is to, focusing mainly on the environmental dimension of thesustainability concept, examine the attractivity of housing with sustainability claims. Toanswer this, three research questions were used:? Was the migration motive to reduce their environmental impact a part of the decision tomove, among migrants who had moved to housing with sustainability claims?? If the motive was a part of the decision, how much impact did it have compared to othermigration motives?? Which factors in housing aiming at sustainability are considered important by peopleliving in housing with sustainability claims? The research questions have been answered using quantitative data, gained in the form of selfadministeredquestionnaires which were distributed in four different residential areas withsustainability claims in the county of VÀstra Götaland, Sweden.

Folkligt deltagande & regional utveckling
The residential yard at Kvarteret Landsfiskalen 1, in the area HerrgÄrden in RosengÄrd, Malmö was built in 1971 and has since then been reconstructed twice, in 1984 and 2008. The yard is found in an area which was built during the years 1965 ? 1974, a period in which the swedish goverment approved a decision to build one million homes, and much of the events in this particular yard is also typical for the process in many other areas built during the same period. At the original construction the design of the yard was entirely incused by the pressure in time and finance, one was under at that time, in order to over- come the housing shortage. The design it has nevertheless been given, reflects the esthetic ideals of that time well. The building of the area was barely finished when the swedish authori- ties started handing out grants in order to support the rearmament of the outdoor environment in the areas built during the so called ?million program?.
VÀrdepÄverkande faktorer för bostadsrÀtter i smÄstÀder i Sverige : Value-influencing factors for cooperative flats in small towns in Sweden
There are various value-influencing factors that have various effects on the value of a cooperative flat for buyers. What generates value is individual and different from buyer to buyer, but also between buyers and real-estate agents. Consequently, the real-estate agents who perform valuations can make incorrect estimates of a residential value. Therefore, it is important to examine which factors are important for buyers to prevent incorrect valuations. To find out which these factors are and which of them that are the most important for potential buyers, previous research has been done in larger cities in both Sweden and other countries.

Diskursskapande i miljonprogrammets förorter - Fallstudie JÀrva

The governmentÂŽs intensions were to give the individuals more influence in their housing, to increase the variety of accommodation and thereby create a freedom of choice when selecting their housing. They also saw opportunities to reduce segregation and increase the total production of houses and or apartments with this new type of ownership. The introduction was supposed to give the building companies a possibility to build with a new type of ownership and thereby create new and an increased number of projects for the future. This new accommodation form has however not gained the penetrating power that was expected.

Participatory public art projects in run down residential areas - a discussion on how to run the process
Participation, public art and participatory public
art as phenomenons and subjects have been
studied and discussed. With interviews and observations
as a base, we have studied projects
and discussed participation, effect and quality
in relation to these.
Furthermore we have looked at how the participatory
art processes work in Sweden and
England. This essay seeks to discuss the process
of participatory public art and to emphasize
the elements contributing to the quality of this
process.
It is up to us as planners to recognize the possibilities
for a qualitative place. To mediate between
different interests, for example between
politicians and stakeholders, between economics
and quality, between the place and its users,
between individuals and the community, and in
our case between artists, users and the municipality.
Public art has gone from being about the product,
an art piece, to becoming more of a process,
from non interactive to interactive. Participation
ranges from receiving information to play
an active part in the process.
Four cases have been studied, taken both from
Sweden and England, showing the diversity of
processes connected to Participatory Public Art.
From interviews conducted in Sweden and
England information and thoughts have been
received and they show a higher degree of use
of participatory public art in England, and also a
higher consciousness.
