The objective of this study was to study the agreement between two methods of indirect bloodpressure measurement in dogs and cats and to establish the within-method variation for the methods. The utility and practicality in the clinical setting were also evaluated for the both methods. The techniques evaluated were the oscillometric method and the Doppler ultrasonographic method. Thirtytwo dogs and 26 cats were used in the study and seven dogs and five cats out of these animals had diseases that may effect the bloodpressure. Bloodpressure was measured in both anesthetized and in conscious animals.

The purpose of the study was to determine the attitudes of the teachers of Reggio Emilia inspired preschools concerning the science work with children between the ages of one and three, as well as their opinions on how the physical preschool environment and the choice of materials influence their scientific work. The study was conducted in three departments of two different kindergartens. Although both kindergartens called themselves Reggio Emilia inspired, their working methods and their environments differed largely. None of them were originally built as Reggio Emilia inspired preschools. One of the kindergartens strived to design their indoor environment the same way as the preschools of Reggio Emilia are constructed, there for they were setting up different stations where the children themselves have the opportunity to explore various scientific areas.

Denna uppsats utreder hur Sydsvenskan, Svenska Dagbladet och Aftonbladet mellan den 1 januari 2007 och den 31 december 2007 i sammanlagt 152 artiklar framställde problematiken kring fildelning. Utredningen görs genom att lyfta fram de motsättningar som finns i medierapporteringen av fildelning.En kvantitativ innehållsanalys utgör grunden för den kvalitativa studien. I den kvalitativa analysen använder vi oss i huvudsak av teorier som berör mediepåverkan och etik. Till exempel använder vi oss av Maxwell McCombs teori om mediernas dagordningsfunktion och Göran Collstes beskrivningar av konsekvensetiska teorier. Resultaten pekar på att det existerar en osäkerhet i de studerade tidningarna kring hur man ska förhålla sig i fildelningsdebatten.

En av de vanligaste parasitsjukdomarna med dödlig utgång i världen idag är amöbadysenteri. Sjukdomen orsakas av parasiten Entamoeba histolytica. Den sprids huvudsakligen feco-oralt och förekommer endemiskt i utvecklingsländer med otillräckliga sanitära faciliteter och dåliga hygienkunskaper. På senare tid har den även spridit sig till länder i väst. Man kan urskilja två typer av riskfaktorer; dels de som predisponerar för en infektion, och dels de som ökar risken för att utveckla allvarlig sjukdom till följd av en sådan.

Due to stress, the workplace is a setting where actions of health promotion are of great importance in the perspective of public health. Stress is caused by heavy workload, low control of organizing their tasks and lack of support from colleagues and supervisors. This can lead to cardiovascular disease, depression and insomnia. Due to the health problems that this causes, it is important to examine how senior immigration offices perceive their psychosocial work environment.The aim of this thesis is to examine how the senior immigration offices at the Migration Board perceive their psychosocial work environment. The study is based on a qualitative approach with deductive content analysis and the data has therefore been collected through interviewing six people based on a semi-structured interview guide.The result has shown that the senior immigration offices are pleased with their work environment and that their workload is constantly changing.

Att involvera användare vid systemutveckling kan bidra till att informationssystem som utvecklas i större grad accepteras av användarna samt blir lättare att använda. Det finns olika tekniker för att involvera användare i systemutvecklingsarbetet. Att dessa tekniker existerar medför dock inte nödvändigtvis att de används. Syftet med arbetet är att identifiera huruvida tekniker som framkommit från forskning används och om de inte används hur användarna då involveras rent praktiskt i systemutvecklingsarbetet. Om tekniker inte används undersöks vidare vilka orsakerna till det kan vara samt om systemutvecklare eventuellt utvecklar egna tekniker.För att undersöka problemområdet har ett antal intervjuer genomförts med systemutvecklare.

The purpose of this essay was to investigate the view of what kind of role the personal assistant has in disabled people´s life and sexlife and how conceptions of a "normal" life and "to live like others" can be identified related to this. My research questions was: What does the expression "to live like others" mean to the organisations? What is the view in the organisations of the personal assistant´s role in the client´s life? What is the view in the organisations of the personal assistant´s role in the client´s sexlife? What is the view in the organisations of disabled people´s rights to get assisted help with sex? I chose to do semistructured interviews with different organisations related to disability and assistance and I analysed the interviews with theoretical aspects of social constructivism, the principle of normalization and the theory of SRV (Social Role Valorization), autonomy, individualism and models of action. My main conclusion were that the views of disabled people´s sexuality and the personal assistant´s role in disabled people´s sexlife were widely separate. However, almost all of the organisations were pointing out the autonomy of the individual and the importance of setting the limits.

Examensarbetet undersöker hur mastering påverkar den subjektiva musikuppfattningen. Detta har undersökts med hjälp av ett lyssningstest där testdeltagare i två grupper, ?vana lyssnare? och ?ovana lyssnare?, lyssnat till tre versioner av tre olika produktioner i olika genrer. De tre versionerna är en professionell, en semiprofessionell samt en omastradversion. Testdeltagarna har sedan fått betygsätta produktionen ur ett rent ljudkvalitetsmässigt perspektiv samt motivera varför de betygsatt som de gjort.Resultatet tyder på att musikuppfattningen påverkas beroende på om produktionen är mastrad eller ej för såväl ?vana lyssnare? som ?ovana lyssnare?.

The aim of this study is to fill the gap in mathematics education research concerning the relationship between identity and positioning in mathematical collaboration in groups. This study elaborates on the relationship between how pupils see themselves as math students in sixth grade, how they show their identities as math students, in contrast to how they position themselves reflexively in group collaboration while engaging in mathematical problem solving. The theoretical concepts linked to this study are discourse, identity and positioning. Discourse is used to describe and form the setting and context of the study. Identity is seen as a transient and elusive concept formed by the students own perceptions of self through narratives.

The goal is to develop a number of products and build prototypes to be shown during the Carl Malmsten Furniture Studies spring exhibition 2012. I?m also writing a report describing my work.To reach my goal I have each day during the first phase conducted a short research and found a concept based on that days name day. Then I have continued in the workshop and worked with three-dimensional models.

In this thesis I discuss and analyse the use of violence of Basque radical nationalists after the 11th of September 2001 and the bombing of Madrid the 11th of March 2004. The field study is performed in the Basque country with interviews both on the French and Spanish side of the border with representatives from the Basque Nationalist Liberation Movement (BNLM).After the 11th of September the Spanish government continued its struggle against the countries own terror - ETA. But as the research will show the new political context after the 11/9 made it possible for the state to intensify the labelling of groups from the BNLM as terrorist organisations and thereby putting its members and leaders in prison for terrorism. My research shows that this social change may lead to a mobilisation of activists inside ETA, which in turn might create a continuity of the group's use of violence. The scenario is though challenged by an other setting in which the political situation after the 11/9 have made use of violence by militant groups like ETA illegitimate and irrational as a consequence of the mental trauma among the people of the western world.

Syftet med denna rapport har varit att undersöka om det föreligger några skillnader mellan 5-åriga och 8-åriga barns sätt att minnas detaljer, antingen med hjälp av mentala bilder eller rent verbalt. Som metod användes kognitiv intervjuteknik (KI) och ostrukturerad intervjuteknik (OI). Barnen fick tillsammans se två korta sketcher från en film med Herr Gunnar Papphammar. Femton minuter senare intervjuades barnen antingen med den kognitiva intervjutekniken eller med den ostrukturerade. Resultatet visade endast en signifikant skillnad när det gäller barnens ålder och hågkomna detaljer.

Pigs in Swedish organic production systems have been shown to have more findings of arthritis at slaughter, compared to pigs in conventional pig production. With this in mind a study was performed, to primary, investigate variation in exterior, gait and weight gain between sire breeds and, secondly, to investigate variation between herds, season, gender, age and assessment occasion on these recordings. Swedish commercial hybrids, crosses between Norwegian Landrace and Swedish Yorkshire were inseminated with either Hampshire or Duroc as terminal sire. All the pigs had known pedigree as each semen dose contained sperms from one individual boar. All piglets were individually tagged closely after birth, and exterior and gait assessment were performed at two separate occasions, early and late during the fattening period.

Syftet med denna undersökning har varit att studera huruvida individuella målsättningaranvänds inom elitfotboll. Dessutom undersöktes vilka målsättningsstrategier som föredrassamt vilka av dem som uppfattas som mest effektiva. Vidare studerades hur användningen avolika målsättningsstrategier är relaterat till elitfotbollspelares upplevda kompetens ochmotivation. Även skillnader mellan ordinarie och icke ordinarie spelare samt juniorer ochseniorer studerades.
