In 1994 a new Forestry Act was accepted in Sweden. One of the aims of the law is to raise consideration forpreservation of biodiversity. Since the new law got accepted and some time has passed, there now lie someinterest in examining whether the law has been effective towards its purpose. Methods suitable for analysishave been examined during this study. The content of this pilot study is based around five parameters whichcan be used to validate the effects of the new law.

The family and relatives caring of older people in Sweden lies on an old tradition. By legislation the responsibility for the older people has gone through a development from the family to the society. According to the new social service law (2000) it is not that clear that the utmost responsibility lies on the society. According to the social service law ( 5th chapter, 10 §) the municipality should ease things up by giving support and relief for relatives taking care of older people, prolonged ill and function disabled people. The purpose with the study was to examine how the family care givers are finding their everyday work and their experience of the support that the society is giving.

The aim of this paper was to investigate how 40 typical speakerswith Finnish accent, aged 65-84 years, performed in speech assessmentthrough Dysartribedömningen, a Swedish dysarthria assessment instrument.Their results were compared with results of a matched Swedish nativespeaking reference group. Both groups were assessed in areas offunction/structure, prosody/intelligibility and through a survey oncommunication. Results indicated that the performances of the Finnishparticipant group were estimated as more deviant than the Swedish,considering all areas. The Finnish participants were deviant in articulationand they had a significantly lower speech rate in reading. They also hadsignificantly lower scores in intelligibility compared to the reference group.The results of the survey of communication showed that the Finnishparticipants estimated their levels of activity and participation to besignificantly more limited compared to the reference group.

In order to stay competitive companies must take advantage of talented people, new technology and new markets around the world. Not only companies but also countries and regions, such as EU, need to take advantage of globalisation and the advantages that come with the increase in FDI around the world. Studies have shown that FDI does not only make companies more competitive but it also stimulates the economic growth of the region where the FDI takes place.

The official Swedish interpretation of the concept of citizenship is based on the social-liberal concept of citizenship. According to feminist critique, this interpretation of the concept contains male norms that lead to the exclusion of several groups from full citizenship. There is also a corresponding feminist critique which holds that in the womens´ movement and gender research there are strong norms as well, especially in the form of ethnocentrism. Also, the image of immigrant women in public debate is being questioned and the critics here raise the question of the responsibility of the society for integration. Swedish research on citizenship has focused very little on the situation of immigrant women, and this essay aims at helping to fill this empirical gap.

Syfte: Syftet med vår uppsats är att identifiera intressanta fenomen kring ekologiska produkters förpackningsdesign. Fenomen som kan ligga till grund för vidare forskning.Metod: Vi har använt oss av en kvalitativ metod bestående av semi- strukturerade djupintervjuer med konsumenter samt en serie butiksstudier för att samla in primärdata till detta arbete. Teoretiska perspektiv: Vi har i teorikapitlet beskrivit teorier dels från området för förpackningsdesign, och dels konsumentbeteendevetenskapen i form av teorier om motivation, self, involvement och means-end chain.Empirisk analys: Utifrån valda teorier har vi tolkat resultaten från de 15 kvalitativa djupintervjuerna. Resultaten har tolkats utifrån olika huvudteman vi funnit intressanta från intervjuerna vilka inkluderar den allmänna inställningen och kunskapen om ekologiska produkter samt förpackningens roll och påverkan.Slutsatser: Vi har genom denna studie kommit fram till att ekologiska produkters förpackningsdesign har en viktig informativ uppgift, inte främst för att sticka ut och vara lätta att hitta, utan för att kommunicera just det faktum att de är ekologiska. Vi har funnit framför allt två starka attribut som förknippas med ekologiska produkter; Medvetenhet och ekonomisk stabillitet.

Detta examensarbete handlar om mag-tarmkanalen och är uppdelat i två avsnitt. Den första delen handlar om mag-tarmkanalens uppbyggnad, rent anatomiskt men också hur den ser ut histologiskt. Histologin är bara ytligt behandlad då den endast är med som förklaring till vissa händelser inom fysiologin. Den andra delen, fysiologidelen handlar om de olika delarna i mag-tarmkanalen, deras funktioner och vad som reglerar dessa. I fysiologiavsnittet behandlas också nedbrytning och absorption av de olika näringsämnena..

How can we use modern X-ray technology to raise awareness of the information that is hidden in historic upholstery? The materials and techniques add information to the history object in question and  about a profession that is sparsely documented in our country. The knowledge we have today has largely been obtained by studying damaged upholstery, or by removing the show cover and upholstery, a technique which involves high risk of damaging the upholstery. X-ray technology offers  a non- intrusive way to examine historical upholstery.Through case studies, I examined four artefacts. The artefacts went trough an inititial visual exam before being transported to The National Heritage Board in Visby where they underwent a thorough X-ray exam.

In the light of new technology health care is now given the opportunity to form a more mobile way of working that would bring about potential gains in terms of efficiency and quality. On the other hand, a more mobile health care also requires a more generous handling of personal information, something that may raise issues in terms of privacy. This study shows that the privacy of the patient requires two things: (i) that the personal information of the patient is handled in a way that generates her an overall positive expected utility and that (ii) the negative expected utility that each risk of an information leakage causes is offset by the expected utility it also makes possible. The first requirement (i) is shown, in comparison with today?s way of working, to be met due to the potential gains in efficiency and quality in combination with no increase in the probability of informational leakage or negative effects of such a leakage. The second requirement (ii) was also considered met since no separate risks of information leakage could be identified that was not offset by the gains it made possible in terms of expected utility..

Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) is a genre of computerized systems which allows system development corporations to efficiently and more easily manage, maintain and handle the applications lifecycle. These ALM systems have a wide variety of tools which can be integrated to enable and support collaborative work, while they act at the core of the organisation. Todays ALM systems support flexible system development methods throughout the entire development process. This paper focuses on a case-study of a Swedish business- and technology corporation and their use of two ALM systems with an aim to unravel the differences between these systems and their functionality to serve as a basis for decision making regarding their utilization of best practice with their ALM-Systems. Meanwhile we studied their approach to ALM systems to see if they were using them according to the initial idea of ALM systems.

This essay is a combination of an interview, survey and an observation that involves seven different teachers and thirty-eight pupils in a school situated in a suburb of Stockholm. The purpose of my research is an attempt to give a picture of how a team of teachers in a primary school act together when teaching maths, as the majority of the pupils have another mother tounge than Swedish. Yet another purpose of this essay is to examine what possibilities this team of teachers have in trying to develop the Swedish language within other bilingual pupils and at the same time develop their math comprehension. I have chosen to initiate the theoreti-cal starting point through the points of Rodell-Olgac & Rönnberg & Rönnberg; these authors discuss the importance of language comprehension when it comes to developing ones math skills. I have reached the conclusion in my examination that it is important to raise the impor-tance of language comprehension within math-education.

Den här kandidatuppsatsen behandlar miljöproblem som kan uppkomma i sambandmed användarfasen i ett klädesplaggs livscykel. Den del i användarfasen somfokuserats på är tvätt och hur tvättmedel kan bidra till mindre negativamiljöpåverkningar. Det är främst energiförbrukningen som gör användarfasenmiljöbelastande. Syftet med arbetet är att se om alternativa tvättmedel, som påståsvara mer miljövänliga alternativ till traditionella tvättmedel, fungerar med avseendepå tvättresultat och hur de kan leda till miljöförbättrande åtgärder.Efter direktiv från uppdragsgivarna Teknologisk Institut och Tænk utformas tester föratt undersöka tvätteffekt, mekanisk bearbetning och bakteriehämmande effekt på åttaalternativa tvättmedel (fem lågtemperaturtvättmedel och tre tvättbollar). Alla metodersom används i utförandet baseras på internationella standarder samt internaarbetsmetoder på Teknologisk Institut.Många faktorer har betydelse för resultatet av en rengöringsprocess och tvättmedlethar en central roll.

The intention with my study is to examine how teachers in school relate to the concept of learning styles and how they define an individualized education that focus on students? different learning abilities. My intention is also to raise their thoughts about what they think the benefits and the deficits may be with an individualized education that focuses on students? individual ways to learn.My study is based on the empiric material I have collected from interviews with five teachers, whom all worked in grade three. To analyze and discuss the interview answers I have had to my help Dunn-, Kolbs- and Gardners theories about peoples different learning abilities and learning styles.

In the project Echoing Nature i have searched a design for an exhibi¬tion concept. That visualizes the natural phenomenon of self-assem¬bling materials in a simplified way. My question is, how can you emo¬tionally re-connect the modern man to nature and raise awareness. I assume my thesis that the experience of a natural phenomenon can inspire us to see a bigger context, provoke curiosity and generate an initial sense of belonging to nature. The result is an interactive sculp¬ture that consists of 3-dimensional Tetris blocks.

This paper deals with Will Kymlicka's and Charles Taylor's theories of multiculturalism, and the criticism of these theories by Jürgen Habermas and Seyla Benhabib. It also gives a brief background to the Swedish integration and minority policies and places them in relations to the academic discussion. Taylor advocates cultural survival to be a legitimate policy objective and Kymlicka argues that rights should be diversified in order to adapt to different needs of cultural minorities. The thesis aims to confront the theories with interviews of four persons who voluntarily or by profession work for the interest of minorities. The theories have been operationalized as questions and structured in four themes with the purpose of analyzing the interviews.
