I detta examensarbete beskrivs uppdrag, tillvägagångssätt och resultat för framställning av prototyper för editering av webbsända presentationer. Prototyperna består av två produktionslägen, On-Demand och Live, anpassat för en befintlig webcast- produkt. Utvecklingen har skett iterativt tillsammans med uppdragsgivaren Qbrick. För att prototyperna ska uppnå en god användbarhet har kognitiva- & heuristiska genomgångar genomförts. Funktioner och tilltänkta arbetsflöden har tagits fram efter en användarprofil utifrån resultat av genomförd förstudie.

Institutionen för medicinsk teknik vid Linköpings universitet var i behov av att utvärdera användbarheten på den prototyp som de tagit fram för mätning av fysiologiska parametrar i distribuerad vård. Syftet blev därför att genom att använda metoder så som heuristiska och summativa utvärderingar ta reda på vilka behov och krav som de tänkta användarna ställer på användargränssnitt som används inom distribuerad vård. För att kunna genomföra dessa metoder genomfördes studiebesök, användaranalys, fokusgrupper, kontextuell utforskning och en funktionsanalys. Resultatet av de två utvärderingarna visar att användarna ställer höga krav på den här typen av användargränssnitt, framförallt gällande säkerställande av identitet och anpassning till användarnas verklighet..

The report aims to describe the austenitic stainless steel Sanicro 25 from a thermomechanical point of view. The thermal and mechanical properties of the material make it suitable for use in coal ? and thermal power plants. By the use of Sanicro 25 it would be possible to bring the efficiency of these plants up while bringing the carbon emissions down.A material model is created from material testing and validated through simulation in the finite element software Abaqus. The model that has been derived describes the material behavior during loading and stress relaxation for the first cycle in a thermomechanical fatigue test well.

Saab har utvecklat en produkt, Remote Tower, vars syfte är att fjärrstyra en flygplats. Fjärrstyrning innebär övervakning och styrning av flygplatsen från en annan plats än flygledningstornet. På den flygplats som ska övervakas har kameror monterats på ett sätt så att en 360-graders vy ges och bilden från dessa skickas till den plats varifrån man styr flygplatsen. När en ominstallation av en eller flera kameror görs så behövs det i dagsläget två installatörer. Dessa kan behöva arbeta på olika orter då serverdatorn inte behöver vara placerad i närheten av flygplatsen i sig.

Virtualization has increasingly been adopted in the last decade and the usages of virtualized environments are going to be an important part of how computers are used in the nearby future. There are a lot of advantages with virtualization and different methods have been developed to make it as efficient as possible.Forsmarks Kraftgrupp were interested in the possibility of taking advantage of virtualization in their testing environment.In this report, hypervisors of type 1 and type 2 and containers have been evaluated to determine which method and what program is preferable on a server cluster of four HP ProLiant DL380 Generation 4. Because of the hardware specifications of the DL380, focus has been on virtualization programs that do not require hardware assisted virtualization.The results show that it is possible to use some of the type 2 hypervisors on the HP ProLiant DL380 Generation 4. The suggested virtualization programs are VMware Workstation or Oracle VirtualBox. .

I detta projekt har en webbplats utformats enligt måldriven design. Arbetssättet har delvis följt den agila metoden scrum. Syftet med webbplatsen är att fungera som ett verktyg för praktiserande tjänstedesigners samt studenter i processen att välja visualiseringsteknik för att representera data. Begreppet användbarhet samt olika metoder för att testa detta har utretts. Intervjuer har genomförts, dessa har legat till grund för personor och scenarier.

This study presents results for observing forest changes in Sweden using multi-temporal L-band satellite data and is a part of the JAXA?s ALOS Kyoto and Carbon Initiative. An extensive dataset of images acquired by the Advanced Land Observing Satellite Phased Array type L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (ALOS PALSAR) is investigated for clear-cut detection in boreal forests in northern Sweden (Lat. 64°14? Companys usually have intern communication platforms where employees can gather information and communicate with eachother. These networks are not public which leads to less resources spent on development. If this network is also used as a work tool may inadequate usability decrease work effeciency. Thats why we, by using known design principles, evaluated an already existing network of this kind along with interviews and think out loud tasks for users. Four users had to do some tasks while they explained how they went through step by step to solve those. This report culminates into a couple of guidelines which can be used to create a user friendly network. The problems that prevented users to feel in control when working resulted in the following guidelines: Create shortcuts of frequently used functions.

This report tested the possibility of using induction as a mean for transferring data and power so that it can be implemented as a communication medium between a terminal and measuring head mounted in a measuring frame. This would eliminate the need for the cable bunches that are used today. For testing, signal generators were used to generateFSK-signals and were transferred with the help of inductors to the oscilloscope for signal detection, this to see how the coils used in the tests behaved. Simulations of a PLL were performed to see how good it could handle FSK-demodulation. With the help of a PLL IC and the simulations a working FSK-demodulator could be assembled.

Rapportens mål är att få utvecklare att förstå vikten av att alltid tänka på besökaren i utvecklingsprocessen och på så sätt hjälpa till att förbättra flash-baserat innehåll generellt.Trots att många kritiker anser att flash-baserade webbplatser inte är bra ur användbarhetssyfte visar denna rapport att det är högst möjligt att skapa användbarhetsanpassade flash-sidor för besökarna med hjälp av Macromedia Flashs eget programmeringsspråk actionscript.Denna rapport innefattar också en webbaserad mall med alla de tekniska lösningarna som nämns i texten för att utvecklare enkelt skall kunna följa varje steg i utvecklingsprocessen..

The background to this study is that the forest company, Holmen, has found large discrepancies between harvested volume and the measured volume at the industry. Factors like bark features, breakage, double tops, bends and stem damages was noted, and all stems were measured manually. Hypothesis testing with the method "random in pairs" were used to examine whether the harvester measured values significantly differed from the manually measured. The result of a properly calibrated harvester shows in average underestimation of the volume with Skogforsk Pine as a bark function. This means that the harvester isn´t the reason why the volume measured in the industry is lower, the fault is elsewhere. The study also indicates a need for a unique bark function for logepole pine..

Our aim in this work has been to redesign ModernFamilies and make a user-friendly interface for people with aphasia. The focus has been to identify general issues they might face while using different technology and applications, in order to find better alternative design for ModernFamilies, with a focus on usability. To approach this issue, we used a qualitative method. Our study includes several interviews and observations preformed in conjunction with the AGNES project (AGeing in a NEtworked Society) and speech therapists. Aphasia requires simple design that in the same time gives them support to understand and use technology and different applications.

Mobile technology is developing quickly and becomming a part of daily life and communication. Bluetooth Low Energy is presented as a new way of mobile interaction. However there are not enough studies in this field on the interaction between mobile devices and the physical world. In order to understand user needs, and to encourage users to interact, we simulated an interaction process through designing and testing a prototype in a specific indoor environment. Prototype effectiveness and main characteristics for future mobile application was evaluated through a qualitative user study with 20 participants who interacted with our prototype..

In our attempts to understand the world, wildlife films play a significant role. Wildlife films help us to see new places and learn about animals in remote locations, that we otherwise wouldn?t be able to do. Yet wildlife films have throughout history been criticized, mainly for the ambivalent relationship between science and storytelling. While the films give us a scientific impression and say something about the ?reality?, they clearly have the intension to amuse, capture and entertain their audience.
