The main purpose with this study is to describe teachers? use of textbooks and other teaching materials in upper secondary school (gymnasiet) in Sweden, and to discuss the use according to school subject and teacher style. Data was collected in two different ways. At first twenty classroom observations were made during lectures concerning the subjects Swedish (mothertounge), English (foreign language) and religion. Then four open interviews were carried out with the teaching teachers.

Sociala medier är ett relativt nytt begrepp och hur de fungerar som verktyg för den politiska debatten är långt ifrån kartlagt, följande undersökning syftar till att beskriva relationen mellan interaktivitet och politiska bloggar. Undersökningen grundas i en fallstudie av 14 politiska bloggar skrivna av riksdagsledamöter och undersökningsperioden sträcker sig över ett år från juni 2010 till maj 2011. För att undersöka interaktiviteten på bloggarna har en kvantitativ innehållsanalys genomförts. De resultat som dragits av undersökningen är främst att ett offentligt samtal mellan medborgare och politiker sker på bloggar på riksdagsnivå, åtminstone i viss mån. Även vad som skrivs om på bloggarna, det vill säga, vilket ämne som berörs påverkar interaktiviteten, ideologiska frågor och arbetslöshet är några av de ämnen som genererar interaktivitet från läsarnas sida..

At the moment, democracy enhancing projects can be seen everywhere on the municipal level. The purpose of this thesis is to explain how the city of Lund takes on this challenge, why they have chosen to carry out citizen councils and if these are a good way to intensify democracy and open communication channels between citizens, the administration and the elected officials.The theoretical framework consists of seven arguments for gaining citizen influence on policy, and as a counterweight three critical arguments that opponents of participatory democracy often use are added.After a survey over both the Swedish national trends in municipal renewal and the last years work in Lund, the analysis goes on showing that most of the arguments point to the disadvantage of the citizen councils. Even though legitimacy possibly is enhanced by the project, there are probably better ways to open up for more communication and intensify democracy in the local community..

Syftet med vår uppsats är att undersöka några gymnasielärares och lärarutbildares inställningar till undervisning om folkmord. Vi vill undersöka deras inställning till didaktiseringen om folkmord. Vi vill också skapa oss en bild av det material som finns till förfogande i ämnet, främst läroböcker. De intervjuade lärarnas syfte till undervisning om folkmord varierade. This paper analyses the potential extent of labour mobility in the European Union after the eastern enlargement that took place in 2004, but focuses on movements from the 10 new member countries to the old EU -members. In this study, a number of economic models are used to investigate if there is a large potential for labour mobility in the enlarged EU and also if this potential has large effects on mobility in reality. The potential for labour mobility is, to a large extent, discussed in terms of theoretical migrating incitements for workers and different types of labour migration obstacles. Many factors indicate that such large potential for migration actually exists, mainly due to high difference in wages and unemployment and because of the common EU market. At the same time, the presence of natural and constructed obstacles is likely to restrict migration for a long period of time..

Hållbar utveckling har sedan åtminstone 20 år tillbaka varit ett mål för miljöpolitiken i Sverige där begreppet ofta tolkats utifrån den ekologiskadimensionen. På nationell nivå bestämmer regering och riksdag inriktningen för miljöpolitiken och nationella myndigheter samordnar och följerupp arbetet. På den regionala nivån svarar länsstyrelserna för samordning, samverkan och uppföljning där arbetet anpassas efter länetsförutsättningar. På den lokala nivån ska kommuner översätta nationella mål till lokala mål och åtgärder. This paper investigates whether there is a right not to suffer from poverty. The investigation is being conducted from the theoretical standpoint/view that only civil and political rights constitute justiciable rights and rights proper from a moral stance, whereas economic and social rights constitute mere political agendas or less.In the search of an answer to this question the content of economic and social rights, and thereafter civil and political rights will be outlined, followed by an inquiry of what should really be considered as rights. Finally, the arguments against economic and social rights as real rights is presented and scrutinized.This paper will conclude that the stated difference between the above-mentioned sets of rights is illusory and that the right not to suffer from poverty ought to have the same status as civil and political rights..

The purpose with this essay is to study if the exhibition, Maria-Drömmen om kvinnan has a gender perspective and if it contributes to the history of art. The study shows what kind of women the exhibition illustrates and what kind of perspective it has. By telling about the black Madonna I also show that there is another representation of the middle age women in the Roman Catholic Church at this time that the exhibition not have included. The aim of this thesis is to investigate the correlation between the price of electric power and investments within the Swedish basic industry. Using regression analysis, the authors test for correlation between the electricity prices and the basic industry, defined as the pulp and paper industry, the mining industry, the steel and metal industry and the basic chemical industry. Moreover, five variables found in the literature on investment decisions are being used as a means of comparison. The results suggest that the electricity price affects the investment decisions within the basic chemical industry as well as the steel and metal industry. On a more abstract level, this thesis contributes to the understanding of one of the properties of the Swedish GDP..

Tidigare amerikanska studier har visat att identifiering med ett politisk parti är viktigare för individen än de åsikter som partiet uttalar. Individen håller med representanter från sitt parti, oavsett om åsikten som uttalas inte är förenlig med partiets politik. I föreliggande studie testas dessa resultat i en svensk kontext (N = 89). Resultatet visade att deltagarnas åsikter gick i linje med deras politiska tillhörighet, och de påverkades inte av vilken åsikt deras parti uttalade. Studien kunde också visa att vänstersympatisörer ansåg att de baserar sin åsikt på en generell ståndpunkt, medan högersympatisörer ansåg att de baserade sin åsikt på specifika argument.

This is a sociological study of religion that examines how gender and female Muslim identity is expressed during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan in the swedish paper Dagens Nyheter in the year 1951, 1989 and 2009. The aim is to see who creates the image of Islam and Muslims in general and in particular the image of the Muslim woman and whose Islam is given space in the article material. Our aim in this work has been to redesign ModernFamilies and make a user-friendly interface for people with aphasia. The focus has been to identify general issues they might face while using different technology and applications, in order to find better alternative design for ModernFamilies, with a focus on usability. To approach this issue, we used a qualitative method. Our study includes several interviews and observations preformed in conjunction with the AGNES project (AGeing in a NEtworked Society) and speech therapists. Aphasia requires simple design that in the same time gives them support to understand and use technology and different applications.

Uppsatsens syfte: Att undersöka hur föräldrar idag påverkas av hälsodebatten kring socker. Frågeställning: Hur kan föräldraskap och föräldraidentitet konstrueras i förhållande till en debatt om ?det farliga sockret?? Materialet består av tematiskt öppna intervjuer med föräldrar inom fem familjer (sammanlagt åtta personer och fem intervjuer). Intervjuerna är gjorda med föräldrar i Stockholms innerstad och när-förorter. Studien har ett konstruktivistiskt perspektiv och undersöker hur föräldraskap och föräldraidentitet görs i förhållande till olika aktörer och sociala kontexter.
