The way we interact with computers will soon change dramatically. The input interfaces are becoming more and more intuitive and one of the latest technologies is a touch screen interface capable of dealing with multiple inputs simultaneously. The tools we use to communicate with the computer - such as the mouse and the keyboard, will slowly disappear and be replaced with tools more comfortable and more natural for the human being to use. The purpose of this project was to create a basic framework for future projects dealing with this interface, as well as creating some example programs. This report describes my work and my experiences with this new interface..

Human - Technology - Organization (HTO) is a well-established, general unifying concept in the Swedish Accident Investigation Authority (SHK) that represents an approach, knowledge and use of various tools regarding interactions between people, technology and organizational factors. The HTO-perspective is well described in literature but there are few studies on how SHKs staff experiences working according to this method in their investigations. The aim of this study was therefore to describe their HTO-perspective, examine how it is used in the investigations at SHK and describe the investigators experience of working with the HTO-perspective as well as the method's usefulness compared to old methods in accident investigations. A literature study has been conducted in the areas of HTO, Theory of planned behavior (TPB) and safety culture. TPB and safety culture are described in this paper since they highlight the different aspects of a HTO-perspective.

Recent changes in Swedish law suggest new groups of ?desired? labor migrants, which international students is an example of. Despite this, international students in Sweden have received little previous attention in the literature. The current study focused on international master students? experiences of job searching in Sweden and challenges they face in job searching, recruitment, and workplaces.

Prisons are for many an unknown world, and few know about the prison culture which includes unwritten rules, power structures, interactions and relationships between inmates and correctional employees.While many think that Swedish prisons are too comfortable,inmates are facing extreme stress due to surveillance and detention, by depriving inmates their possibility to shape their own lives. When the inmates is deprived of control over their own life?s the penal system have great power to shape and to influence the inmates.The purpose of this paper is to investigate prisoners' experiences of treatment and exercise of power in prisons. Starting point is to examine what are the kinds of relationships between prison officers and inmates from a power perspective, if there is any difference between the closed and open prisons and how the inmates affected by the structures that exist.Based on my overall purpose, and with my informant´s stories which revealed a number of similar points, four main headings were developed; Mass media and society´s view, and unknown world, interaction between inmates and prison officers and consequences.Prison officers with the role as a contact persons as well and other staff which work close to the inmates play a significant role by supporting through motivational interviewing and can help the inmates to gain insight about their life situation and actions. My informant?s underlined that a good contact person can either help or discourage.Inmates who contributed with their experiences express that there is a big difference between open-and closed prisons.

AbstractHow do pupils with intellectual disabilities experience participation and involvement in school work? It was a question I had in mind when I was formulating the thesis statement. I wanted to catch pupils? experiences and analyze them from the sociology of childhood. Do pupils want more involvement and what obstacles and opportunities do pupils find to exert participation and involvement?The study is based on six interviews conducted with pupils enrolled in the compulsory school for pupils with intellectual disabilities.

Bakgrund: Typ 1 diabetes (T1D) och graviditet är en kombination förknippad med risker hos mor och barn ochdet är av största betydelse att hålla blodsockret inom normala nivåer för den gravida kvinnan. Kvantitativastudier visar att kvinnor med T1D har en hög grad av ångest, depression och negativa tankar under graviditet.För att på ett djupare plan bättre förstå upplevelser under graviditet hos kvinnor med T1D krävs kvalitativastudier. Syfte: Syftet är att genom en metasyntes analysera och integrera resultat från kvalitativ forskning kringupplevelser under graviditet hos kvinnor med typ 1 diabetes (T1D). Metod: En metasyntes baserad på dentolkande metaetnografin genomfördes. Sökningar utfördes i databaserna Cinahl och PubMed.

Research on psychosocial health in social work isn't developed enough. Instead, there's much more research on psychosocial unhealth. What about social workers, the unhealth is often related to the situation at work and the work environment.The aim of this study was to "during interviews understand the factors which social workers experience as important to maintain their own psychosocial health in the life situations". With hermeneutic method the particular interest was directed on how the participants experienced and explained their psychosocial health on the basis of their life situations, and the results was analyzed with Antonovsky's (1991/2005) perspective directed on health and Sense of Coherence (SOC). In the study, we used a qualitative form of interviews which allowed our participants to answer with their own words and from how they interpreted the questions.

Palliativ vård definieras enligt Världshälsoorganisationen som ett förhållningssätt som ska syfta till att förbättra livskvaliteten för patienter och deras familjer som drabbas av problem som kan uppstå vid livshotande sjukdom. Det blir allt vanligare att människor med obotliga sjukdomar vårdas hemma den sista tiden i livet och några av förutsättningarna för att vårdas hemma är att det finns fungerande stöd från hemsjukvården samt att närstående är delaktiga i vården. Syftet med studien var att beskriva distriktssköterkans reflektioner och upplevelser av sin egen roll i relationen till närstående vid palliativ vård i hemmet. Studien har en beskrivande design med kvalitativ ansats. Det är en intervjustudie genomförd med åtta distriktssköterskor som arbetade med hemsjukvård och palliativ vård i hemmet.

SAMMANFATTNINGSyftet med studien var att undersöka vilka behov av stöd anhöriga till myelompatienter upplever att de har under den polikliniska behandlingsperioden. En kvalitativ metod med deskriptiv design användes och studien utfördes med hjälp av semistrukturerade intervjuer. Nio anhöriga till myelompatienter urvaldes specifikt med tanke på ålder, kön, relation till patienten och hur länge denne varit sjuk. En innehållsanalys av intervjuerna gjordes och de viktigaste fynden i denna studie var att informanterna uttryckte behov av olika typer av information från olika kanaler och att de hade behov av att samtala med någon om sin situation. Efterfrågan på medicinsk information återkom vid olika tillfällen under intervjuerna och det ansågs väsentligt att få veta när förändringar ägde rum i sjukdom och behandling.

The canine population has during it?s time with humans gone through at least 2 major genetic bottlenecks, the first when it was separated from the wolf, and the second when it was divided into different breeds. Among other things, this has lead to the accumulation of unwanted genes, such as genes causing disease in dogs. One such inherited disease is syringomyelia, which has proven to be more common than expected, especially in certain smaller breeds such as the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Syringomyelia in dogs is often a secondary condition caused by the malformation called occipital hypoplasia.

Ett hälsofrämjande arbete är den process som ger människor möjligheten att öka kontrollen över sin egen hälsa. Förebyggande åtgärder innebär insatser som görs för att undvika att sjukdom uppstår inom en snar framtid. Inom företagshälsovården arbetar sjuksköterskorna både hälsofrämjande och förebyggande, bland annat genom att göra regelbundna hälsokontroller och genom att genomföra livsstilssamtal med personer kring deras levnadsvanor och hur de kan påverka sin hälsa. Genom att arbeta hälsofrämjande med sunda levnadsvanor kan upp till 80 procent av all hjärt-kärlsjukdom och 30 procent av all cancer samt utvecklingen av diabetes typ 2 fördröjas.Syftet med arbetet är att beskriva hur sjuksköterskan arbetar hälsofrämjande och förebyggande inom företagshälsovården. Resultatet bygger på en kvalitativ intervjustudie där sju sjuksköterskor som arbetar inom företagshälsovården har intervjuats på sin arbetsplats.

In recent years there has been a growing interest directed towards focusing on the importance of clear evidence for interventions in social work. To enable the measurement it?s necessary to develop concrete models with manuals on how social work should be designed. Evaluation of the benefits is made in relation to how well the method can detect evidence of clear measurable results. When measuring the result it?s of importance to emphasis on pre and post the situation, not the situation where social work takes place.

The aim of this study was to get an insight into the pet owners? experiences associated with euthanasia at small animal clinics, concerning their emotions, the treatment by the personnel and the experiences around various types of support provided by the personnel. The target group was pet owners who had had their animal euthanized at a small animal clinic. Incomplete survey responses and responses where it was clear that the euthanasia took place in the owner?s home were excluded. In the end, a total of 442 pet owners participated and out of those were 92 % women and 8 % were men. The study was carried out using a web-based questionnaire consisting of standardized questions with the opportunity to give further comments to each question and in the field of ?Other comments? as well. Swedish small animal related companies and forums were contacted via email and were asked to alert about the present study on their website or forum.

Idag finns möjligheten för svårt sjuka människor att få dö i sitt hem, ofta med hjälp och stöd av närstående och av andra professionella vårdgivare. I den palliativa vården och vid vård i livets slutskede är närstående betydelsefulla i omvårdnaden och behöver stöd från distriktssjuksköterskan. För att det ska bli så bra som möjligt för de närstående att vårda i hemmet behöver distriktssjuksköterskan veta vilka stödåtgärder som de närstående behöver.Syftet med studien var att beskriva närståendes upplevelse av att vårda en närstående som är i en palliativ fas eller i livets slutskede i hemmet.Metoden som användes var en litteraturstudie. Tretton kvalitativa artiklar som motsvarade syftet analyserades med hjälp av kvalitativ innehållsanalys.Ur resultatet framkommer närståendes upplevelser som sammanställts i åtta kategorier. Dessa är att uppleva trygghet, att uppleva otrygghet, att bli bekräftad, att bli negligerad, att uppleva glädje och tillfredställelse i vårdandet, att uppleva vårdandet som en börda, att försöka bevara det invanda samt att uppleva förändrad livssituation.Resultatet visar att närståendes upplevelser av att vårda i hemmet kan skilja sig från individ till individ.
