Wildlife is a valuable and renewable resource that promotes economical, ecological and social values. These values are important for developing and maintaining many rural societies. However, growing ungulate populations have led to increased browsing pressure on valuable forest trees and crops. Previous studies have proposed supplementary feeding and gamefields as potential methods for controlling the ungulate foraging and reducing browsing damage by providing other attractive food resources. However, quantitative estimates of potential biomass production of various gamefield crops and browsing pressure on the surrounding forest have been lacking.

Syftet med föreliggande studie var att bidra till utvecklandet av självskattningsskalor för föräldrar till barn med ätstörningar. Skalor som ska kunna användas diagnostiskt men också vid utvärdering av behandling. Två instrument utprovades; AESED som mäter i vilken grad föräldrar anpassar sig till ätstörningssymtomen och hur påverkan på familjesystemet ser ut med utgångspunkt i Schmidt och Treasures modell om vidmakthållande av symtom, samt FQ som mäter expressed emotion. Detta kompletterades med HAD som mäter ångest och depression. Studien genomfördes vid SCÄ ? Stockholms Centrum för Ätstörningar och data jämfördes med motsvarande material från Västerbotten.

Today?s climate changes will probably give rise to precipitation in Sweden, which will cause more floods in Swedish rivers. Many of the Swedish rivers are regulated and have lots of hydro-electro power plants. Higher floods in the rivers will give greater water loads on the dams, which mean that a higher discharge through the sluice gates and in the spillway channels is needed. High discharge of water in a spillway channel can create scour of the material in the channel.

SAMMANFATTNING Syftet: Syftet med denna systematiska litteraturstudie var att studera hur anhöriga till äldre personer upplevde sin situation i i samband med att de vårdade sina äldre hemma, hur de hanterade sin situation, samt vilka strategier de använde sig av för att hantera sin roll som anhörigvårdare. Metod: Databaserna Cinahl och Medline användes i sökningarna efter relevanta artiklar. Sökord som användes var relative and older people and home care, home health care and family caregiver elderly people, family caregivers and care givers of aging people, elderly people and family care givers of aging people, family care givers of older people, family caregivers and frail elderly, family caregiver and older people and home care, home care older people and family caregivers older people, family caregivers older people. Efter genomläsning bedömdes 16 artiklar vara användbara i resultatet. Dessa kom från vetenskapliga tidskrifter och artiklarna innehöll både kvalitativa studier som kvantitativa studier.

The purpose of this retrospective study was to investigate the prescription of antibiotics to dogs at the small animal clinic at Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire, Nantes, France. The purpose was also to compare the possible prescription patterns in France with those seen in a similar study by Petersson (2003) at the small animal clinic at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Uppsala. Antibiotics are very important in veterinary medicine and are used both to treat infections and to prevent them. The use of antibiotics however is not without complications and the risk of developing antimicrobial resistance is of most concern. Resistance has been shown to exist against all currently known antibiotics and potentially all pathogenic bacteria could develop resistance to one or more antibiotics. This study analysed the case records for all dogs presented to the small animal clinic at Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire, Nantes, France during October 2001 and March 2002 to identify patients which were treated with systemic antibiotics. For these cases the antibiotic used, classified according to the ATCvet system, and the indication for use was noted. A total of 292 cases (146 per month) resulted in administration of systemic antibiotics.

The primary goal of this study was to investigate how the radial growth of retained trees responds after thinning-from-above. The National Board of Forestry which initiated this study, was interested in whether there were differences in the growth-response between the tree species Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) and Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.). Another question of issue was if there were differences in the growth response between trees of different sizes. It is within the framework of the National Board of Forestry?s, Continuous Forests Project that these urgent questions are to be answered.

At seed-growing the aim is to produce a commodity with high germination capacity, good soundness and purity, and also slight admixture of seeds from other species. The capacity of germination and the vigour of the seeds may become impaired in consequence of mechanical damage, infection of diseases, growth of mould, attacks of vermin, high drying temperature, secret germination, sprouting in the ears etc. The germ belongs to the outer and most unprotected parts of the seed, and consequently this is much exposed. Andelen gravida kvinnor med fetma som skrivs in i mödrahälsovården i Sverige har de sen-aste 20 åren mer än fördubblats. Fetma är förknippat med ökade risker för komplikationer både för kvinnan och barnet under graviditet och förlossning och om viktuppgången hos kvinnor med fetma kan begränsas under graviditeten kan dessa risker minskas. Det finns få studier som har beskrivit barnmorskornas erfarenheter av att arbeta med gravida kvinnor med fetma och hur de upplever att kunna erbjuda extra stöd till dessa kvinnor. I Göteborg finns det sedan 2011 på vissa barnmorskemottagningar möjlighet att inom projektet VIKTiga mammor erbjuda gravida kvinnor med fetma extra stöd. Syfte: Att beskriva barnmorskors erfarenheter av att arbeta med gravida kvinnor med fetma, dels generellt och dels inom projektet VIKTiga mammors interventionsdel.
