?No one leaves behind? är en uppsats som diskuterar vilka berättarstrukturer och ideologier som kan urskiljas i de amerikanska krigsfilmerna Behind Enemy Lines (2001), Black Hawk Down (2001), We Were Soldiers (2001) och Saving Private Ryan (1998), med hjälp av teoretiska metoder från strukturalismen och teoretikern John Fiske. Dessutom behandlas även begreppet nationell identitet för att undersöka om man kan se någon tendens till nationella identiteter i de amerikanska krigsfilmerna. Slutsatsen är att filmerna har en gemensam berättarstruktur och gemensamma teman som är viktiga för de ideologiska tankar och värderingar som kan urskiljas i filmerna. Teman såsom ära, mod och heder, det manliga förhållandet som i uppsatsen benämns brödraskap, och dessutom temat No one leaves behind vilket är mycket centralt i en del av filmerna. Ingen av soldaterna i filmerna skall lämnas kvar i en krigszon, levande eller död..

Kvinnor som ledare inom industriföretag : En studie om hur kvinnor kan ta sig tillledande positioner

Research question: How does the industrial company Scania work to get more women in leadership positions?Purpose: The purpose of this work is to describe how companies in a male-dominated industry can work to get a higher share of female leaders.Method: This survey was based on a deductive approach with a qualitative method. Theories have been obtained primarily from scientific articles and the empirical part has been collected through interviews from the companies Wiminvest and Scania.Conclusion: The conclusions the study came up with was different elements that companies in male-dominated industries can work with to get a higher share of female leaders. The first thing that companies can do is to join the project BON or similar projects to work on this issue. They can work with workshops and lectures to disseminate knowledge about the topic.

Varför vidareutbildar sig kvinnor inom Försvarsmakten?

Syftet med föreliggande studie var att undersöka varför kvinnor som gått militär grundutbildning väljer att vidareutbilda sig till specialistofficerare. Respondenterna utgjorde fem kvinnliga specialistofficerare i åldrarna 22 till 34. Tre av dem hade gjort allmän värnplikt och två av dem hade gått grundläggande militär utbildning (GMU). Av demografiska skäl genomförde jag telefonintervjuer med respondenterna. Jag följde principerna för induktiv tematisk analys när jag analyserade intervjuerna.

The combat mission is an extreme situation with high demands of the soldier. Killing might very well be necessary. Before a mission a soldier can experience stress due to these factors. The purpose of this paper is to find methods to handle stress due to an upcoming combat mission and to the prospect of having to kill. The main questions of this essay: -How can certain parts of the physiological psychology improve a soldiers ability to perform a mission? ? Is the Swedish soldier mentally prepared to kill? The theory for this essay has been described using litteratur by experts within the field, and the results thereafter discussed.

Större och mindre växtätares samexistens : Möjlig interaktion och effekt på lokal biodiversitet

The purpose of this report was to investigate to which extent local presence of large herbivore mammals (Alces alces, Cervus elaphus, Capreolus capreolus, Dama dama and Sus scrofa) covaries with small rodents (Myodes glaerolus, Apodemus flavicollis and Apodemus sylvaticus? The hypothesis was that high abundance of wild ungulates would inhibit the density of small forest rodents. The data was collected during field work within FoMA (Environmental Monitoring Assessment)/SLU (Swedish University of Agricultural Science). The Ungulate dropping inventory and rodent trappings, which is the base in this report, where performed 2012 ? 2014 in Gnesta/Nyköping municipalities (G/N) with a relatively high density of wild ungulates and Vetlanda/Växjö municipalities (V/V) with relatively lower wild ungulate density.

This bachelor thesis in European studies examines the perceived effects ofEuropeanization among officers, soldiers and seamen in the Swedish Armed Forces(SAF) through the use of semi-structured respondent interviews. The study focuses onchange in rules, values, identity and organizational changes.The study shows the most important parts of what is believed to be the biggestfactors behind the major change in the SAF during the last 20 years. The biggestfactors are shown to be the fall of the Warsaw pact and the increasing influence ofNATO in Europe. Interviews show that staff within the SAF has difficultiesseparating change coming from the EU and the above-mentioned factors, partially dueto the fact that most members of the European union are also part of NATO. This paper supports the thesis that creative consumer advertising also can be used as a recruitment tool. By increasing the level of creativity used in their communication, a company can affect the attractiveness of themselves as future employers. The creative advertising influences the brands perceived creativity. It also increases the perceived social, development- and reputational value as well as the future intentions with the brand. By being more creative the brand is also viewed as making more marketing effort, which in turn affects the perceived potential of the brand in a positive way.

The purpose of this study is to give a picture of the current status for the recruitment to forest machine operator educations in Sweden, how many the educators are and the outcome of this activity. The three at present different types of education are upper secondary school, polytechnic school and vocational school. The method used for the survey is telephone interviews, pre-broadcast issues were discussed and the responses were recorded. The results are then compiled and presented in linear form. The conclusions one can draw is that education is desirable and important. Spelar personligheten någon roll? : En studie om personlighetstesters betydelse och funktionen de fyller i en rekryteringsprocess

Det är idag väldigt vanligt att en rekryteringsprocess inkluderar ett personlighetstest som hjälpmedel för att hitta den rätta personen för jobbet. Av denna anledning är det intressant att studera vad för funktion personlighetstester har. Därför har denna studie genomförts i syfte att undersöka vilken betydelse personlighetstester har som verktyg i en rekryteringsprocess, och hur man kan bedöma yrkeskompetensen hos en person med hjälp av ett personlighetstest.För att ta reda på detta har jag använt mig av en kvalitativ metod där sex personer har intervjuats. Samtliga jobbar på samma företag som rekryterare av något slag och använder personlighetstest i deras vardagliga arbete. Resultaten av dessa intervjupersoners utsagor har sedan analyserats utifrån Keens och Ellströms teorier om kompetens.Studiens resultat visar att personlighetstest används olika från rekryterare till rekryterare och att det ibland kan ge väldigt värdefull information om kandidaten som söker jobbet, och ibland kan det även vara helt oanvändbart.

This thesis deals with local identity and the workplace. We have taken part of stories dealing with local identity and the workplace, by using a qualitative method. We interviewed eleven men working at the same company. The group contained of men from urban areas as well as rural areas. The data from our interviews have been applied to theories of local identity and social theories by sociologists such as Durkheim, Simmel and Tönnies.

Ledarskap för motivation : En kvalitativ studie om chefers perspektiv på ledarskap för motivation

The purpose of this study is to investigate the managers? perspective on leadership in relation to the motivation of the employees by an example of a manning and recruitment agencies. This is implemented by framing of two questions; What kind of leadership can be identified by middle managers to motivate their employees? Which motivation factors are relevant to employees based on the perspective of the managers? To answer the question and identify leadership strategies and motivational factors and the relationship in between, we have conducted eight interviews with persons who hold a middle management position. Through a qualitative investigation we have been able to go into depth and had access to these managers reflections, thoughts and experiences.
