5-hydroxytryptamin (5-HT) is biochemically derived from Tryptophan. Kynurenic acid and quinolinic acid are also known metabolites of tryptophan. 5-HT is considered to play a role in depression and today selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are used for treatment of depression. 5-HT may also play a role in pain perception. The aim of this study was to investigate whether a supplement of tryptophan may affect conditions such as depression and/or pain.

Denna kvalitativa studie med hermeneutisk ansats har som syfte att åskådliggöra och konkretisera begreppet estetiska lärprocesser, sett genom drama som metod i ämnesundervisning. Forskningsfrågorna är Hur kan estetiska lärprocesser förstås genom drama som metod i ämnesundervisningen? och Vad krävs av drama för att estetiska lärprocesser ska uppstå? Deltagande observationer samt två intervjuer har genomförts för att undersöka ett projekt där drama använts sommetod för tema Rymden i årskurs två. Mot en bakgrund av sociokulturell teori om lärande samt Lindströms modell för estetiskt lärande görs tolkningen att estetiska lärprocesser kan uppstå i drama som metod i ämnesundervisning när extra stor vikt läggs vid de tre delarna reception, produktion och reflektion samt när en fiktiv situation skapas tillsammans med deltagarna, genom t.ex. lek, berättande och känslor, så att en upplevelse av estetisk fördubbling blir möjlig..

This is a bachelor thesis that studies and discuss the question: How can we develop our individual narrative technique with sound design in a Swedish drama production? We have done research and empirical studies. We have analyzed movies to get an idea how we use the sound design in Swedish drama productions today. I have in this thesis looked at the reasons for why boys, in upper school classes, read so little fiction. Several surveys show that boys in their teenage years stop reading fiction. If they read fiction it is only as a school assignment and not as leisure. There has been research done in boys attitude towards literature, but there hasn?t been any research done asking them about why they don?t read fictionI have interviewed a group of boys about their reasons, and attitude, for why they don?t choose to read fiction on their spare time after school.

This is a literature study in which I investigate if there are scientific studies that form the basis of the Swedish dog world views concerning the spaying of bitches. This essay is a study of how teachers in social studies relate to three central curriculum concepts; cultural diversity, swedish culture and common cultural heritage.Through unstructured interviews, I have taken part of two practicing school teachers interpretations and understandings of the concepts and their practical approach for teaching about identity. An area mentioned in the core content of the courses Social studies 1a1 and Social Studies 1b.The conclusion of my study is that teachers interpret the key concepts in a transparent manner. It is believed that the main task is to problematize the concepts rather than define them. In contrast to this, the practical teaching is largely based on normative values. An open discussion and a normative practice can be said to balance right on the border between the schools values ??and the demands of the curriculum on transposition of the current culture..

The aim of this study was to search for a link between the subject pictorial studies in means of expression and the ability to communicate in written and spoken language. To do so findings in relevant literature and a few complementing theories was addressed to cast light on interviews made with teachers dedicated to the subject pictorial studies in a subject-integrated curriculum.Interviews were conducted with nine teachers and all but one were teachers in the subject pictorial studies, spread across all of the nine grades in compulsory school. Informants were located in areas of socioeconomically high as well as low status, in central and densely populated areas as well as areas less densely populated. The diverse theoretical background consisted of semiotics, constructivist theory, social constructivist theory and genre theory. Theories and literature partly both contradicted and supported each other, depending on situation and circumstance.No evident conclusion could be made that discriminated one affecting cause from another on speech or writing skills.

The following essay examines if five Swedish textbooks aimed for religious studies in upper secondary school might show similar flaws to those presented by the Swedish Schools Inspectorate in their review of religious studies conducted in 2012. The method used in this essay is a qualitative study of Swedish textbooks influenced by Lantz definition of wide and thin ethics. This in practice means that I have analysed the five Swedish textbooks using thin and broad ethics while conducting the analysis of the five. The purpose of the essay was to see if the flaws presented in ?Mer än vad du kan tro? regarding ethics and moral education might be present in Swedish textbooks as well.

The effect of total dietary fat on the blood lipid profile: a reviewFat consumption has increased in Sweden in the 21th century, probably due to the advancement of the diet low car high fat (LCHF). The purpose of this review was to examine the effects of high-fat-diet on blood lipids, cholesterol, LDL, HDL the ratio between LDL/HDL and triglycerides through a systematic review.

The purpose of this study was to collect Swedish norm data for theTest for Reception of Grammar Version 2 (TROG-2) for children aged 6;0-7;11 years. Since TROG-2 should be administered with an increasing degreeof difficulty, the study sought to determine the necessity of altering the orderof the blocks for the Swedish version of the test. An additional aim was toexamine the relationship between grammatical and narrative comprehension,the latter examined through, somewhat modified, tasks developed by Bishopand Adams (1992). 160 children from Göteborg participated. The resultsshowed that the order of the blocks needs to be altered to maintain anincreasing degree of difficulty for Swedish children.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how students writing their master thesis seek information, how they reason about their information seeking behaviour and how their studies in LIS could have affected their information seeking behaviour. The result was analysed with Roger Säljö?s theory about the sociocultural perspective about how individuals learn in relation to their context and the social practice that they act in. The following conclusions were drawn from analysing the result. The students didn?t really reflect over their information seeking behaviour.

The aim of this study is to analyse and investigate a rather new field of LIS studies, i.e. link analysis which is a part of webometrics. Webometrics has been described as the quantitative study of web based phenomena drawing on bibliometric or informetric methods. Link analysis has its counterpart in citation analysis within the field of bibliometrics. The questions the study investigates are if webometrics can provide LIS with new knowledge and if there is a place for webometric studies in LIS research.
